Me too FF! Can't wait to get stuck in but I'm pretty busy with the baby and then the weather has been dreadful. Hopefully will be a mild weekend so I can get the new exhausts on, although I might try to get to the MCN bike show too
looks great I love the grey I was thinking to repaint mine to a dark grey gloss finish as well with a stripe but one which is not in the center but more center right or left on the bike to give it a lil character. Matt black is nice but extremely sensible...

Bluey Grey? Very nice. Stripe is great as you say for breaking the block colour. Great start to the changes.
Yeah it does look a bit blue on camera but in the flesh it’s definitely grey. Weird! Might be the reflection of the sky too.
I've been wanting to repaint my bike but haven't decided on a color until I saw yours. Definitely going for the metallic grey. Love the video and paint job!

The colour looks great and the mods will make a difference also. I did consider buying a Street Twin, but it was too expensive for a second bike, so went for a scrambler style Honda CB400 Super Four. personalising your bike is addictive and satisfying. :-)
Just checked out your CB on your profile pic - nice! My dad used to have one and I always thought it was a good looking bike. Did you do much of the custom work yourself? Or did you buy it like that?
Cheers mate, I bought the bike like it is on the picture, although I added the vinyl tank stripes. I have since changed the bars for Renthals and added new levers, mirrors and grips, it looks a lot nicer now. :-)

Love the look! Now maybe my eyes are bad or I just want it to be this way, but to me it looks like a slight touch of blue is mixed in on the tank color, Which is splendid. Great color!
I think it reflects blue a lot. Gets picked up on the camera quite a lot too. But it’s there a little bit when you look in the flesh. Thanks for the kind words!
I was just thinking that a street cup would look nice in a blue/grey color with possible contrast color black or a bright silver. Now I don't usually like red as much, but red/silver would look smashing on street cup. Of course I'm a painter so should stop now before i really get going. Lol

Was thinking of ding the same on my street cup... Side panels are painted Jet Black PG, no more street cup stickers. I will do the same for the seat cowl and the tank, still using jet black for a stripe and silver ice for the main color.

Cheers mate - yeah would be good to something once the weather picks up. The salt building up at the sides of the road last week in London was crazy! It didn't rain for a few days and they kept salting ever night and the traffic just pushed it into the gutter. Hoping it's mostly washed away now. MY NEW PAINT!
Yeah there is still so much salt on the roads its horrible. The spray from other cars and off the back wheel gets my gear filthy haha. Such a nightmare to clean off as well. Wash the tank and side panels after each ride ;)

Unfortunately had to repaint, got dealer to do them(matte black)...and put new decals on BONNEVILLE 900...pretty pleased with it....i’m 5’11 so the bench seat was needed as it gave me an extra 2”...delighted with it! Would love the tailtidy also, maybe after Summer! Ride safe😎
Ah yeah that makes sense. I’m 5’9 so the stock seat is just about ok and quite good for around town where you’re sitting at the lights a lot

Need to add the "knee pads" to the sides of the tank to protect the finish and to add some grip for your knees.

i love that black stripe in the middle of the tank, but in general i was expecting bit more fancy and extremist paint work, this is looks bit plain to me , but still very very good paint work ... nice one ...
Cheers AA. Yeah it's definitely on the low-key side of things but that's just my style. Some of the Down and Out Triumph customs have great paint, as do some by Macco Motors. Maybe if I build another bike I'll trying something a bit more creative...
Really nice colour - similar to my friends Thruxton R. The stripe really sets it off. Where did you get the heel plate on the sprocket cover from?
Thanks! Yeah I was inspired by the thruxton r with the grey tank, tank strap, black side panels with vents. The heel plate again is standard on the 2017. I guess they added it to stop your boots from buffing up the plastic sprocket cover? Think I prefer how it looks without it tho...

Love the new paint job. Ever consider painting both fenders gray as well? And I've see the headlight bracket painted black and I think that works well. What yo've done looks great though.
Cheers HR. I’m losing the rear fender for a tail tidy, so no need to paint it. The front one is gonna get cut down a little but we’re going to do that once I’ve done the other mods to the front end of the bike to make sure it looks right, then it’ll get painted to match. One of the mods is a different headlight mount which is black. Agree that it looks much better. Just need this snow to go away so I can get outside and work on the bike

Yeah I’ll keep an eye out for some good ones but a lot of the ones I’ve seen have union jacks and that sort of thing. Would have to be subtle if I get some. The stock knee pads on the street Scrambler are actually really nice
@Motobob - Beautiful paint job! Quick question, have you or are considering any performance related mods such as decat, K&A air filter and snorkel removal? Doing some research around these and would like your thoughts if possible? thanks!
Thanks Ryan. I’ve heard that those mods don’t make a massive difference because of the shape of the cam. Have you checked out the TEC bike parts video about it?
MOTOBOB , thanks for your reply. Yes, definitely seen the TEC video on their custom cam replacement. Although probably need to wait until warranty period is over for that kind of mod. He does say at the most basic, a decat and a high flow air filter is the least - and cost effective - way to have incremental performance improvement. Cheers
Nice! I like the Street Twin but at 6 feet I feel I am too big for it. I rode one and it was great except for the position of my feet. I would need forward controls or at least some highway pegs. Haven't seen either on a Street Twin. I would need different handlebars as well. My long arms felt cramped. It was even worse on the T120 which I also rode. Hmm.. maybe some ape hangers!
Speedmaster maybe?
Well, I liked the version of the Speedmaster that was fazed out, the one with the air cooled motor. The new one just doesn't look good at all to me. A Bonneville with a fat front tire just seems wrong. I like the looks of the Street Twin best out of all the other Triumphs, especially with the mag wheels.
I really like the new Speedmaster and really tempted to get one, but as my street twin is currently being paid for by the wife it will have to wait. :)

Agree re the mag wheels. A lot of people on the triumphrat forum seem keen to swap them out for wire wheels, but I love them. Definitely keeping them!

Good question Shaun - she's not been on it yet as we've got a 3 month old baby. Gonna try to take her out for a ride one weekend when we've got family round who will look after the baby, so I'll be sure to post a video with the verdict. FWIW it's pretty torquey down low so I think it will be great around town 2 up, but I guess it'll struggle a bit on the motorway

Love the paint and custom side panels. Very stylish.The logo's on all of the Bonneville line look a bit out of place. They look to much like a simple sticker .
I would think again on the Vance and Hines exhaust. Most people say it's hardly any louder and also doesn't bring much power wise. It also looks exactly the same as the original pipes(only slightly shorter and some rivited logo's) so imo it's a bit of a waste of your money. A simple cat delete probably brings more noise and less weight for a much better price.
Hey Ronald - thanks for the kind words on the paint job. I take what you’re saying about the V&H but I love how they look and I think they sound better too. I managed to get some on eBay for £250 and they’re as new - only done 400 miles. But I think I’ll do the decat too fairly soon to really open it up!

Good deal on the Vance & Hines. For 250 it's a totaly different story but originally they are around 625 I believe and that's just a bit much for such a small gain in looks, sound and performance. Most bikes have hidiously big exhausts fitted as standard wich makes most aftermarket exhausts a no brainer but the Street Twin's original pipes already look and sound very good straight out of the box.
A cat delete with the V&H's is probably the best sounding solution. And then persuede a dealer to put the fuell map on for the high cat less V&H system.
Have fun with modding your StreetTwin and keep posting those nice UA-cam vids.

No Bob :-) on my Yamaha i have a Yoshimura trc carbon, you said that you will put the vance & hines slip on.
I was checked them out and in my opinion they are the best choise for the Street Twin.
Yeah there are some good vids on UA-cam. I watched a lot and came to the same conclusion!
how much would a custom paint job roughly cost on a street twin ?
Depends on what you want doing and where you get it done, but a few hundred quid at least. I’d recommend a bike specific paint shop rather than any old bodyshop
