The Saint Chamond is definitely a cool design. I'm personally a big fan of ww1 and intere war period tank designs they're just so strange

I love that early tanks were actually called "landships". Very steampunk-sounding!

Jean Baptiste Eugéne Estienne, the guy mentioned as the Father of French tanks, is known to some to be displeased with the first Saint Chamond he saw. Not only did he instantly realize the front heavy design was a massive flaw, but the model in front of him had 6mm of armor, which for non metrics is less than a quarter of an inch. He tested the tank with his sidearm, which in ww1, would likely have been an 8x27mm, and found that the bullet went straight through. he then commented that he would rather use his office papers.

We don't "hate the british", only the english. And nowadays only when rugby or football is involved. But yeah, things have to be pretty bad for our ancestors to prefer an "english" design over a french one.
You made me recall my great-grandPa rants abouts the unreliability of those tanks. He saw human torches running out of those. He was in the "Chemin des Dames" offensive.

I was thinking about doing a video on ww1 super heavies because I think that they are some of the wackiest designs out there. Also Thank You!

they shouldve just built it taller instead of longer. fun fact, the last st chamond survived because it was given to the usa at the end of ww1 and was displayed for many years at the us army proving grounds at aberdene. the usa then gave it and a schneider back to france, in the 90s i think.

WW1 tanks are so much cooler than any other tanks in history. They’re just so weird looking, they look like giant toys.

    I enjoyed your research.
I should warn you tho, that if you keep altering your voice like that, you might get polyps, and that could really harm your ability to make videos. A voice more like your normal speaking voice might be safer, or maybe you could talk to a voice coach about how to get the voice you want without damaging your vocal cords.
