Word of advice if buying one of these from Home Depot online: Call in your order and request they ship it out to you directly from Ryobi. Otherwise, good chance you'll end up with a dirty/dusty unit delivered from your local HD that's been sitting outside 24/7 with scuff marks and other cosmetic damage from all the customers messing with it. That's what happened to me and I had them come back and pick it up. There were also a couple keys missing. The store rep said to avoid that happening again, call in my order and request it be shipped directly from the mgfr (Ryobi).
I watched this video several times before my mower arrived and it’s as simple as it looks. My only issues were when putting on the seat I couldn’t find where to connect the carabiner clips, might have been the poor lighting in the garage. So I checked the video and problem solved. The bolts on the corner poles were very tight and they took a bit to get them off. Other than that things went smooth. I took my time, fed the dog, took pics at each step, stopped for phone calls, and searched for my socket wrench. With all that it took me abt 1 hr 20 minutes working alone and moving deliberately slow so I wouldn’t mess things up. Batteries were at 20% and it took 1 hr 15 minutes to charge to 100%. Don’t forget to check tire pressure as my front tires were very low. (12 psi).
How satisfied are you with the mower? I'm thinking of buying this model very soon. I have a 1\2 after lot. How is the battery life? Have you come across any issues?
@@Alex-The-Working-Class-Hero - still loving it. I have an 1/2 acre lot and have never run out of power. Used more power when I was getting used to it but now I usually run it at medium speed and use less than 50%. See about ordering from Ryobi and have it delivered to your home. If you buy from Home Depot check it out before taking off the lot. They have been leaving them parked outside in the weather, something you don’t want to do with any equipment especially battery operated ones. I’ve read stories of missing keys and parts from ones sitting out at Home Depot. Mine was still on the original metal pallet and wrapped in clear wrap so had no exposure to the elements. Watch the video and you’ll have no problem putting it together. Good luck.
@@sgtsue6048 thanks for responding!
Only problem I have is that the set screws for the joy stick are too short to make contact with the inner shaft. The screws just go through the outer tube and fall out inside.. Will have to find longer ones unless I'm doing something incorrectly..
Take pictures and call Ryobi. I find the joystick is a little loose but didn’t have your problem at all.
@@sgtsue6048 Called them, apparently I hadn't seated the joystick. Had to really push it but it finally clicked in and the set screws would tighten. Headslap.
We're so glad you got it put together, John!
How are the blades changed?
Currently, if any components on the vehicle are damaged and need replacement, where can you buy them? We cannot find the parts for the 80V vehicle.
Ryobi, can you please confirm I should leave my 80v lithium 30 inch mower plugged in to the charger at all times I'm not using it?
No
I called and discussed with RYOBI. Key point is to charge once a month. In deep winter, if your garage is below 45 degrees or so, charge inside one battery at a time. Obviously pick a fire safe spot as even high quality batteries can catch fire occasionally.
My mower makes a weird sound when trying to go reverse off the shipping container and won't move then just beeps. Any help
Are there any plastic straps attached to the rear and front of the mower that haven’t been cut yet?
To replace the blade on $500 lawn mower I need to buy a torque wrench that cost a few hundred dollars. On my way to buy that wrench.
What $500 mower? This one costs $6000+ after taxes.
Like it but at $5000 for a 30in cut no thanks plus i dont trust these things dont want one blowing up and catching my garage on fire
Gas mowers are way more likely to explode and have other weird problems. Funny enough, 2 days ago my neighbors riding gas mower wouldn't stop and drove into his chain fence and mangled it up, spilled oil everywhere and a big dust cloud formed around his house. Now he's gonna have to buy a new fence.
