Yes. Folks are just now getting it. It’s not just him playing long it’s he’s been able to sustain ULTRA ELITE level of play for 20 years. Udonis Haslem has longevity. Vince Carter had longevity. But neither are in the top 5 or 10 of most if not all ALL TIME stats why? Because it’s NOT just about longevity. It’s about maintaining the highest level of play for 2 decades.

Chuck used to be around 230 something and they labeled him the round mound. Today Chuck will not be able to play as a forward with that weight b'cuz he will be too small. People like Ewing, Malone and Robertson looked big back in the day, but their games cannot translate to this day and age b'cuz they not perimeter shooters. None of these other athletes did that like he does. He always had a special body type but he has worked hard to keep himself fit too. Your right it will be a long time before we see anything else like him. If ever cause sports is changing. Athletes are getting better younger but still James was a grown man at 16. Agreed. These days there's also Giannis who has both the athletic gifts (probably more than Bron) AND the dedication to the craft and body. Zion could have been another one but to follow on what you said, Zion is a gifted athlete who came into neglecting the work. The thing that makes Bron unique to this day is the holistic combination of his athletic gifts & health; his IQ for the game; and the ball skills that he had to hone throughout his career. His dedication to being a professional and his love of competing is what has extended his career this long. It would have been easy for him during a 20 year career to slack on his body and his workouts but he never did.

Lebron is clearly the best of his era, Jordan of his, Kareem had a legendary career, Wilt was ahead of his time (he did a Jokic once season and decided to play point guard which was unheard of for a giant like Wilt) but Lebron is a once in a lifetime talent. Nobody has ever been consistently compared to Jordan the way Lebron has but that's how great he is. The overwhelming media coverage is annoying as hell but Lebron is a great and once he leaves the locker room for good his achievements will be damn near unattainable.

Will be subbing, oh One other thing! Letting us know where you began observing NBA cool too & admitting you were wrong abt LBJ...which brings me to a ?...since you highlighted his lack of decline, why & when did you not continue to think he cud get to this point or determined he couldnt if as you pointed out no visual decline in stats..to warrant not to just keep on witnessing & make that decision when warranted.

The only thing negative that I could say about him is that he sometimes uses foul language in public. I am a much older person, and what is acceptable language changes from generation to generation. Leflop only does things that benefit him. People enjoy discussing offensive statistics, so he spends a lot of time accumulating offensive data. However, his performance on the defensive end is quite poor. When compared to players in the same position, his shot-blocking abilities are completely incomparable. If a similarly aged player, who is 38 years old(Jordan), only focuses on offense without defending, it wouldn't be difficult to achieve his level of statistics. Not to mention, he's already dealing with knee injuries at this age, yet he still insists on playing games on both ends of the court.
Not to mention, Leflop's challenges in managing rest and playing time after the age of 34, along with a decline in appearances and minutes played. Additionally, most of his time on the court during defense is spent slacking off, giving him even more energy to excel in offensive statistics.

Meanwhile Lebron takes care of his body, strict workouts, nutrition, consistency. No scandals, just work, family, and charity. I would actually argue that, him staying hungry and playing every year has kept him in good shape. Meanwhile Jordan after retiring, definitely lost a lot of fitness, which is normal. You don't get "fresher" by retiring for 2 years. You lose VO2 max, you lose muscle and you gain fat. Wilt Chamberlain was a beast, but he scored more women than he did baskets. His production levels fell dramatically in his second half of career, and his sperm production quadrupled.

Obviously, genetics play a part, but this man was taking care of his body as a HIGH SCHOOLER, he didn't wait until he got into the NBA, so while he was young and more flexible, he had his body right and made his conditioning a PRIORITY!

This man is crazy he said Michael Jordan took time off basketball tickets serve from injuries that man is a businessman he jumped out to become something else he was moving on with his career but he noticed that the team that he was in charge of one doing too good so he came out of retirement to inspire the younger players and he did by leaving and coming back shows to his greatness he stepped away came back and was still basically the best his stats was just as good as all of the younger players in that time that shows greatness what you should be asking yourself is it Jordan wouldn't have left where would these numbers be right now well I'll tell you whether there'll be they've already ran the tests on the schematics of his averages man the numbers would have been into the 40,000 instead of where it was worth Kareem left for the Jordan wouldn't have never left never left not retired when play baseball not retired came back to the wizards if he just never left he just stayed the whole time until he just couldn't do it no more the numbers would be Ludacris

LeBron is a great player, one of the best to ever do it, but it’s actually not that Impossible back in 2001 to 2003 Jordan was putting up first year 25 points per games until he got injured at age 38 and the second year he was putting up 20 points per game at age 40 and he played all 82 games that season now it’s 19 years later with better, technology, medicine and training so even though what LeBron is doing is impressive everything evolves and players should be playing many more years and he’s only averaging 4 or 5 more points than what Jordan did in. 01. So what’s going to happen if KD, Curry, and Giannis play past 40+ years old still putting up great numbers is everyone going to praise them the way they’re doing LeBron, as technology medicine and training get more advanced people are going to start playing longer and longer and they’re going to continue putting up big numbers late in their career and then you have to think about the analytics and load management teams are going to do what’s best for the players to keep them playing longer

Russell Westbrook to lakers was the worst move to happen in lebrons career. He just killed the lakers and it just wasted 1.5 years of lebrons great career

To an extent, but I think Westbrook was a bit of a scapegoat for the Lakers failures

I think we won't see a major decline (averaging 19-20 points) until age 40
