We were recently back in Vancouver, BC for a few days and since Patrick didn't travel with his cello, we recorded a few solo piano pieces that have been on our "must do" list for awhile. We've had tons of requests for this beautiful piece by Ludovico Einaudi - we hope you enjoy! Einaudi is an Italian contemporary classical composer well-known for his minimalist music and film scores. We're fans! We recorded this at the famous Warehouse Studio (owned by Bryan Adams!) in downtown Vancouver. (Also, Patrick filmed this and hates that he moved around so much in this take...but it was MY best take so we had to use it! He wants everyone to know it's not his best work! 😂😂😂)

I got so inspired by the piece "Toto Africa" and started also playing it on the piano. I'm starting on this one for sure! You gust should go to AGT because you need to win it and let America know how much passion and dedication you put in all your gorgeous pieces! This is the most beautiful version of this song I've ever heard. Marnie Laird is so delicate and intentional in how she plays. Gosh its just beautiful. I have listened to this version hundreds of times. It inspired me to finally start taking piano lessons in my 30's. After almost 3 years, I am FINALLY learning this song. I could cry I'm so happy.

I don't understand how someone would not appreciate this. You may not like the piece, but she plays the piano is a such beautiful way that is impossible not to recognise that. Congratulations.
I have tried to listen to different versions of this by different musicians but I always end up right back here because it’s simply the best version out there. And as much as I would love to see your finger work all the way through, I dig the movement and different angle that Patrick got for this video. He’s a true artist even without his cello!

Never have I ever heard anyone play this and it sound anywhere near as lovely as Einaudi himself. And then I heard this... absolutely gorgeous, stunning rendition ❤
There are two ways to play this song: SLOW and expressive OR passionate and strong. This is the best example of the latter that I have found to date. Absolutely wonderful!

There is some sad people out there that just want to see the world burn. In a way their thumbs down is a compliment. It meant she pissed them off with her talent so much they had to express their anger, with both her and their own lives. It’s a compliment in loser form..
So beautifully played, it gave me chills. This composition is so special to me, because it's the first one I learned on piano and the one I like most. It's not important that you play a composition.. it's important how you play it and YOU, Marnie played it perfectly and from your heart!
