    • @nickygee5611
      @nickygee5611 4 роки тому +8

      @@bigbeast008 You wouldn't really have any sensation of "standing". The vestibular system feels the same regardless of your orientation. Astronauts are able to strap themselves into their sleeping bags to give at least a mild sensation of laying down, but you can't trick the inner ear. It is well studied that astronauts have difficulty sleeping even despite NASA's efforts to keep a very strict circadian cycle before and during flight, and by trying to limit working working hours to only 6.5 hours per day. Despite this, it it reported that the use of sleeping pills is fairly common among astronauts, even before spaceflight.

    I'd never be able to handle this, I am both claustrophobic and acrophobic. Not to say I haven't hiked up small mountains and rode up with people on vacations, just could never handle seeing earth beneath me and being closed in and not being able to actually "lie down". I am sure I'd be booted off EARLY with the "vomit comet." I can take a lot of spinning and motions on rides but not coupled with weightlessness, looking down on earth and being closed in. I had enough trouble diving down into the 9 ft section of a pool to retrieve a ring in swimming class.

    In 2007, we could have lost this station. The module in which the 2 Russian cosmonauts were sitting (where Suni said that they all meet) at the end, this is the main and very first module - Zarya (RUS), which is responsible for correcting the station, analyzes its position and corrects the station with the engines. This module contains the main life support systems and much more. This is the central brain of the station.When an American shuttle flew to the station in 2007 to install solar panels, static electricity from these panels passed through the station and cut off all the computers in the Zarya module. As a result, the shuttle spent three days correcting the station's orbit, and the Russians searched for and fixed the problem, during which they opened all the cabinets, computers, rang kilometers of wires and found the cause. There were only three days to eliminate the cause while the Shuttle corrected the orbit. After 3 days, the shuttle undocked and flew away, if the problem had not been solved by that time, the Russians would have had to leave the station (the support systems did not work) and it would have continued to rotate in space without correction and power. That it would be guaranteed to destroy it
    (sorry. Google translate)

    This is such an awesome video.
    Thank You for the recut + upload!
    I love it! ❤
    I recently tried to discuss this video with people who apparently choose to believe that we live on a Flat Earth and claim that “outer space is a ficticious concept“. Of course they have compelling explanations of how NASA faked all this material.
    I’m aware that most so-called “Flat-Earthers” are just trying to pull a leg (Poe’s Law!), but there are (at least some) people who seem to fall for the joke and I’m not yet sure what we can learn from the phenomenon of genuine Flat Earth believers…
    But it sure is a demonstration of freedom. It shows that we are free to believe that we are living on a Flat Earth and that we are being fooled by an evil organization of liars… We can believe that we are victims of a generation spanning conspiracy.
    People are free to believe that. I only worry for the people they might influence and drag into their paranoid belief system.
    I can only hope their children will have easier ways of finding out for themselves on what sort of a world we’re living on.
    Although it is actually already pretty easy to gain a basic understanding of our planet's shape and movement, already...
    UA-camr Vsauce (for example) makes breathtakingly awesome and educating videos... Watch: "How Earth moves" & "Is Earth really flat?" ...
    I just wonder what drives people to fundamentally doubt and question all that we have learned and achieved as a society/ as a civilization (so far) without any really plausible reason, whatsoever… It might be true, that people just feel overwhelmed and deeply frustrated… That might be a psychological explanation why people tend to adopt very paranoid and extravagant belief systems. It makes them feel special/ It makes them feel as if they had found out a very significant truth…
    But on the other hand: If they really believe in what they have “found out”, that would make everyone else either a liar or a fool… And if they believe that they are the only ones who know the truth and everyone else is either evil or stupid, that is clearly a sign of a personality disorder: That is something I’d title as “overbearing narcissism”.
    :/ In order to experience a sharper edge of identity, people choose to believe in a truth beyond what everyone else is believing. Special beliefs (in this sense) seem to be experienced like a drug. A drug that enhances a sense of significance and identity.
    I tend to worry about where this is leading… Perhaps I worry too much.

    • @freuderickfrankenstein8417
      @freuderickfrankenstein8417 5 років тому

      I think it's basically not taking responsibility for why their lives are miserable, instead choosing to blame others (the vast conspiracy) who are somehow pulling invisible strings designed to make them fail. Their lives are miserable but it's not their fault, see how smart they are? They're now instant geniuses sucking in other loser malcontents who fall for the same easy convention.
      I just call them losers.
