    3:45 - A little tip I use to do the same, oil it. Get some oil (penetrating oil works better) and pour it on the wires. Leave it for a while to soak in. That should make pulling that wire much easier.

    Electricity does not tolerate mistakes. Unlike other clumsy restoration videos, when it comes to electrical products, once they work, they are proof of their success.

    • @whatevernamegoeshere3644
      @whatevernamegoeshere3644 2 роки тому +5

      Not really. Motors can work with mistakes inside them. If you scraped the insulation for example, it can run for a while, even years, then get a voltage spike from the grid high enough for it to arc over and it degrades exponentially from there. You also have a rating of life expectancy in relation to temperature. Hotter motors die faster but now that rating is also gone

      I had not even considered that, was mostly thinking about the untempering the heating might cause.
      Though I think its notable this was done to make it possible to extract the old wires, ideas for alternatives?
      Not sure what adhesive is used or but maybe soak in a solvent in a closed container? Full immersion would likely be beyond impractical so it would have to be like wet rags draped over it in a sealed container which would be a fumey explosion hazard but, only thing that comes to my mind.

    Guys It's pointless putting in phase barrier like that, the insulation between the top and bottom of the coils in the slot should be longer say 25 mm longer, and the phase barrier should then sit on top of it, so each coil group is insulated from the next.
