  • Travel vlog #89 | The History of Mexico City | Filmed October-November 2023
Mexico City, the largest and oldest capital city in the Americas, has a rich, 700-year history. For 300 years, it was the Capital of New Spain and the most important city in the Spanish Empire outside of the Iberian Peninsula. Before that, it was called Tenochtitlan, the capital of the Mexica Empire.

    About Us:
    -------------------------------------------------------
We are Matt and Avic and we've been international Nomads since June of 2021. In May of 2021, we quit our jobs, sold our house, got rid of most of our stuff (stored the rest,) and set out on a Nomadic Life. In our first two years, we visited 24 countries, bringing our lifetime total to 46, and we're not stopping now!
Matt grew up in Virginia, USA, and Avic in Quezon City, Philippines. Since we started dating back in the 1990s, travel has been a major part of our relationship, traveling to 27 countries between 1993 and 2020.
“Explore Tayo” means “let’s explore” in Taglish (blended Tagalog-English.) “Tayo” is the inclusive “we” vs the exclusive “kami." This isn’t just OUR journey, we want to include everyone who watches our videos or visits our site so we hope you will hit "like" and "subscribe" and come along for the ride!
