Jeff Beck, “ Cause We Ended as Lovers”. Not only is he a master at playing a strat, he has discovered how to make each note talk. Jeff has a library of his own unique techniques to make every note stand out. I love his techniques on ballads.Jeff Beck and the Strat are one entity.
Mark Knopfler's solo on Sultan's of Swing because of all of the cleanly laid out techniques he uses makes it a super energetic solo. Though also echo Steve's comments too!
Welcome to the channel! So many to choose from by Dire Straits - I still get a thrill from listening to Telegraph Road. But you are right - the Sultans one is iconic as a solo. Great choice!
Hey, thanks for watching. Isn't it strange, that may be one of the easiest guitar parts to play. A good lesson, that sometimes, simple and melodic can reach people's soul more.
If we are talking about a Fender Stratocaster guitar solo then my favorite has to be Pink Floyd Comfortably Numb featuring Dave Gilmour. He is the master of the Strat. His guitar solos are always epic and very emotional.
Ok, quick rant. I couldn't recall the solo in this, so I had a listen to check. Doing this reminded an old fella like me that back in the day, chart songs were allowed to had interesting melodies, chord changes... the lot. Remember when predictable was bad? Loved listening to that song again, thanks!
Hi, Mike.. Great video again... My choice is Dire Straits... Brothers in Arms. Absolutely gorgeous solo parts.. But there are so many great artist's solos to choose from... I think Slash uses a fender... Not sure though
Hi Ilan, I hope you are well my friend! I used to play that song to death as a teenager. People focus so much on Knoflees playing, they almost forget what a great lyricist he is. Great choice
Shite! I see Stevethesearcher has my pick. Comfortably Numb all the days. The tone Gilmour got out of the Fender was always lovely, but it was great on that. Second would be something Hendrix-y, like Voodoo Chile. By the way, my fave guitar solo ever was done on my fave guitar ever, Ronsons Gibson on Moonage Daydream. Never really warmed to the strat sound. The only strat solo I ever really liked was on a cheap telecaster strat copy, Princes Purple Rain. Rant over! 😂 Great vid as always!
Hi Pat - hope you are well. How terrible it would be if we all like the same guitar. Lucky for you if you win - MusicLab have a Les Paul (which I have yet to try). Good luck!
Difficult decision with the variety of playing styles and the fact that the Strat is well over a half century old. But, you didn't say "the most famous or best performance of all time", but what my favorite was. So, for me, it falls to the incredible playing style of Mark Knopfler and literally anything he has done, but to nail it down, I'm going with "Telegraph Road". Ultra-fancy riffs? No. But a level of precision and style that stops you dead in your tracks just to listen to it. Thanks for the review.
Great choice. Particularity the Alchemy live performance of this song. Yes, awesome playing and composition by knofler, backed up with a shit hot band (particularly that piano playing!)
@@CreativeSauce Wow! It is so rare that I hear a guitar player compliment those of us who sit in the corner next to the drums. ;-) Thanks! I agree on the Alchemy Live recording. Heard Dire Straits play it live here in 85. The arena was almost silent during the first part the crowd was so stunned by the performance. Cheers!
Tbh I don't really look at what gear guitarists use, so most of the time I was scratching my head finding any song with solo played on strat. Anyway, " Futari No Ita Fukei" by Lamp, solo is not very complicated, but it's chill and I like me some jazzy stuff, and it was also my favourite part of the song. ua-cam.com/video/Trr_zs_inwI/v-deo.html
Fav song is very hard to chose because there are tons of them. But here it comes ^^> Fav song: Little Wing; Artist:Stevie Ray Vaughan; Why:Still yawning but delivers:ua-cam.com/video/grBmQwLSlDw/v-deo.html
My favorite solo played on a strat is "John The Revelator" by Phil Keaggy -- you can listen here... ua-cam.com/video/SULk23SKKMo/v-deo.html (btw... Phil sings like a young Paul McCartney)
Is it open to US as well? If not, then disregard! I like Two Feet's 'Feel Like Playing Guitar and Not Singing' (wordy name, I know) because it's chill and bluesy- my favorite! m.ua-cam.com/video/IsThWQdnMy0/v-deo.html
SRV, Riviera Paradise. Absolutely sublime in every way. Soulful, technical, connects with the listener on multiple levels. RIP SRV!

Yeah, love those 'violin notes. Good choice

Thank you! Time well spent listening.
Don’t want to repeat what’s already been said, so I’ll go with Eric Clapton’s “Wonderful tonight” that riff is so iconic and beautiful!
Hey, thanks for watching. Isn't it strange, that may be one of the easiest guitar parts to play. A good lesson, that sometimes, simple and melodic can reach people's soul more.
Huge thanks for this giveaway! My fav Strat song/solo I can think of is gotta be Deep Purple's Highway Star, that song just makes me so pumped.
Absolutely! Can't beat some tightly played 8th notes to get revved up! Good choice!
Fav strat eric clapton strat black and white. Thats color have a huge significance on me. Or a gilmour one

Hey Steve - lucky first :) Absolutely - there are many people rate him #1 for feel. Thanks for watching - good luck!
Gotta agree with others here about Mark Knopfler's Sultans solo. Thanks for the video and give-away!
Its amazing how many people just love his playing!
While my heart leans toward Comfortably Numb my head goes with Sultans of Swing. Both are powerful solos.
Deep Purple's Highway star thats some awesome sound and technique
All along the watchtower by Jimi Hendrix is one of the most inspired performance I have ever heard on a stratocaster.
Favorite known strat solo is Steely Dan's Rikki Don't Lose that number.
All of the above but a special mention from me for the tone of Stevie Ray Vaughan on Texas Flood.
I wasn't familiar, so I just listened to a love version. Absolutely...mellow then gritty...just going between beautifully
I guess each and every solo from malmsteen could qualify as my fave... ,but if I had to choose one, that would have to be 'Far beyond the sun'
So epic sounding! Nice!
Favorite strat solo might be SRV’s Voodoo child cover.
Hi, Mike.. Great video again... My choice is Dire Straits... Brothers in Arms. Absolutely gorgeous solo parts.. But there are so many great artist's solos to choose from... I think Slash uses a fender... Not sure though

@@CreativeSauce Totally agree. I grew up with that whole album. Brothers has such a melancholic tone, yet a hopeful ending...

Little Wing by Jimi Hendrix! Is it true that the original Fender Stratocaster survived untill this days?
Fantastic choice. Maybe my favorite Hendrix song.

Japanese Lounge music! I've been to Japan a few times, and loved listening to a band there who sounded just like this. Thanks again, good luck!

Yeah, mentioned elsewhere, but this is a great composition. It's no surprise that a few artist covered it. His version is awesome.

Hi Jennie, yes, it's open to everyone! Thanks for that, I'll take a look. I'll be announcing a winner in the next 24 hrs :)
