    These 0-60 tests are fun to watch, and if you're talking Mustangs, Camaros, Challengers etc they mean allot more than they do with the family sedans. They give you bragging rights and boost testosterone levels that are already too high. I have a 2016 LE with the 2.5L and it flies up on the highway with ease and it has plenty left for passing. Wonderful car. Thanks for the review.

    The I-4 gets 35 mpg highway, while the V-6 gets only 31 mpg highway. Is 2 seconds less from 0 - 60 worth a loss of 4 mpg on the highway, day-in and day-out? Normally I would say 'Yes', but when you look at all of the cops that will bust your butt for doing more than 9 mph over the limit, you cannot even use all of the power that the I-4 gives to you, so the extra oomph of the V-6 is totally wasted, unless you want to lose your driver's license and insurance from too many speeding tickets.

    Believe me, this stock 4 cylinder Camry will run with the V6 Mustangs and Camaros from the colonies, and it won't break down. This is not an economy car, it is a sports sedan, seating 4 adults in total comfort. All of this for less than $25000!

    Try turning the Eco off. Test it again pls

    • @ARentz07
      @ARentz07 8 років тому +2

      Eco doesn't affect performance. The Eco light is just an indicator that you are driving efficiently.

    • @rom6524
      @rom6524 8 років тому +1

      +ARentz07 yes it does effect the performance, its like making the car accelerate little slower/laggish thingy and you can feel the power difference when you use eco for 1month then switch to turning the eco off for 1month, you will feel the difference. Thats what I experience

    • @ARentz07
      @ARentz07 8 років тому +2

      Romel Jacob As an owner of one year and 16,000 miles of the 2015 Camry SE, I can confirm it does not make a difference.

    • @rom6524
      @rom6524 8 років тому

      +ARentz07 as a owner of 2016 toyota camry, I can tell and feel the difference, maybe something wrong with your car Or our car have been program differently

    • @ARentz07
      @ARentz07 8 років тому

      Romel Jacob I pretty much always drive with it off. Could be that I haven't driven in so long? Who knows. Either way, the setting even says "Eco *Indicator", not "Eco Mode".
      If you look in the manual, try searching for "Eco Mode". Doesn't exist. On page 81, it goes over what the eco driving indicator light does. www.toyota.com/t3Portal/document/om-s/OM33A86U/pdf/OM33A86U.pdf
      Now, I will say "S" mode versus "D" mode makes a huge difference, especially if you're driving fast or using the paddles. However, that's not the same as turning off the eco indicator.

    Try running it on premium fuel with eco off

    • @ARentz07
      @ARentz07 8 років тому +3

      Eco doesn't actually do anything - it's just an indicator light to let you know that you're driving in an efficient manner.

    • @ARentz07
      @ARentz07 8 років тому +3

      Also, why use premium? The car is not designed for it.

    • @moeschizlac
      @moeschizlac 8 років тому

      Have you looked at the compression ratio? The fuel requirements is 87 octane minimum, which means it can run on premium for more performance.

    • @ARentz07
      @ARentz07 8 років тому +1

      I've read blogs and articles and watched videos all over the internet saying it's *usually* a waste to buy premium unless it is recommended or required by the manufacturer. Just do your due diligence and look around. In this case, the car requires 87 octane but does not make any statement that using premium fuel would provide a benefit. Besides, premium costs about 25% more than regular at the moment.
      I am curious what the compression ratio (10.4:1 for the 2.5 engine) has to do with it.

    • @moeschizlac
      @moeschizlac 8 років тому +1

      +ARentz07 Higher compression pistons extract more energy out of premium fuel for more power. If a motor has low compression pistons for example 9.6:1 then using premium fuel would be a waste. The Camry v6 is the exact motor that comes in a Lexus IS with the same compression ratio, but Lexus specifies premium. There are claims where people have gotten more power out the Camry with premium. There are also tests with better 0-60 times using premium. This Camry should be doing 7.5 seconds to 60.

      Exactly, 0-60 runs on a car these this is totally pointless. They actually change the throttle pedal curve to not be linear so it can actually feel fast enough on the street. If you want more it just won't give much more. You want more from say an AMG or BMW, you leave most cars behind on command.

    • @joshuaecht

      @@antdx316 I believe you, but where did you hear that? I figured they'd change the gear ratio to make it taller for better mileage on the highway and less response around town.

      Ivan Vojt No its not. Just because a car has more cylinders doesn't mean it'll be a lot faster. Look at the v8 Genesis, its only .3 seconds faster than the v6 Genesis. In Camry you're shaving off about 2 seconds. Not all V6/Turbo I4 cars are 2 seconds faster than their natural I4 counterparts.
