Ben Poole puts an awesome spin on the classic by Jimi. The BEST cover is when the artist makes the song their own....that's the case here. As with most things it's always best LIVE....get out to a Ben Poole show. :)
Ben was in Omaha a few weeks ago.....but I remember his performance of this one on his last visit 4 years ago. I love when he plays without amplification.....this is what a Telecaster was made to sound like. I know Jimi smiles everytime Ben shreds this one. Listen to this and try to sit still..... I Double Dog Dare you. !!! :)

Try Kingfish’s version. The blues sound that comes out of that guitar is beyond anything I’ve ever heard
Some songs I could, and have put on loop, and play all day. This is one of them. Nothing like a whaling guitar. It is what made the 60 and 70 so great. Like having a time machine.

Which of the four in the “trio” did you not hear or see? I know the guitar captives the performance but occasionally the keyboard on the right comes into shot and is present throughout the performance. It wouldn’t have been the same without the background keyboard.

Was pretty good up until 6 minutes. That tone was unreal, then a lot of faffing around with the volume-even turned it off completely at one point which is very strange, especially during a performance of Hey Joe. Im glad it came back at the end
