How u found the area of hollow blocks

Compressive strength of 1060 psi is approximately 7.31 MPa. From this data I found out that the area subjected to load is 28, 396 square mm. Is this area came from the gross area minus the cells?

Should make it compulsory by law that all commercially sold CHBs are certified as per ASTM.
