I love that you call out brands for reformulations and so many of your faves are discontinued but you always give us the tea if you find something similar. I love gourmands but they don't always last on me so learning to dip my toes into things that are spicier and have different note blends. I recently bought Diptyque duelle after wanting it for ages and was so happy and have been going through samples just to use them for fun instead of having a little box that is just sitting. BDK gris charnel is something I was afraid of it and I tried it once and damn do I want to try it more. It's honestly so satisfying just to use what you have and not to want new things constantly.
You are so right! I’ve had a lot of fun going through my fragrance samples this year too - I think to entertain myself in December I’ll do a little DIY advent calendar just with fragrance samples so I can try something new each day (and save money in the process lol). Spicy scents are definitely the way to go for longevity - and you can often layer your gourmands on top for added complexity
I always love these hit and miss videos. So helpful! I tried the Glossier Doux and while I love it, it doesn't seem to love me. My body chemistry must have an effect on it. It is nice when I first apply, but after a while it takes on a sharp note that isn't very pleasant. I'll be passing it on to a friend. I'm also waiting for the Sephora sale with my small wishlist. I'd like to get a few of the new Ciele items and colors. Wish Lisa Eldridge was available on Sephora!
Oh man I am LONGING for the day Lisa Eldridge makeup is available to shop in person in North America!! I stopped by one of her counters at Liberty in London and it was magical. Her staff was really nice and so well informed! Ciele is another lovely new brand. I have enjoyed everything I’ve tried from them! and I totally get what you mean regarding the perfume - that’s kind of how I felt with the original Glossier You! something just went weird on my skin. It’s so funny and interesting how fragrances can react with our unique body chemistry. but I think it’s great if you’re able to pass it along to a friend that can enjoy it 🥰
Definitely worth trying and see how you like it on your skin!! I find it delightful. I wish it was stronger but if they ever do travel sizes it’s absolutely something I’d carry around in my bag to reapply lol
Ooh could you compare the formulas of the liquid lurex vs the liquid silk eye shadows? I have the liquid lurex in 2 shades but unsure if i should get the liquid silk.
@ you get a little bit more time to blend with liquid silk, they don’t set down quite as fast. but equally as easy to spread and blend with fingers or brush
I just got the Fawn palette and just used it for the first time this morning. I like subtle, but like you, I wish the shimmers gave a little bit more. I was wondering if it was just me. I wish I got one of the liquids instead. But I also agree with you on that Armani color! Coincidentally, I got the same one and it doesn’t work for me either. The new Replica was a bit too sweet for me when I tried it in store, however, now that you have it, maybe try to layer it on one of your more woody fragrances so you have just a hint of it!
Layering is absolutely going to be the way to get more use out of it!! ugh frustrating experiences with the shadows but glad I’m not alone. It sucks because I have been buying that particular Armani shade for YEARS, through three different reformulations and it never performed so poorly as my most recent bottle 😭😭😭
Hopefully Lisa brings out some more fun duochromes in her Liquid Lurex line because that formula is lovely too. manifesting something similar to our beloved Armani 11 lol

You've sold me on Glossier You Doux. I need to go smell the collection. I have some scents that match up with yours and I trust your taste on things 😊 Sad to know the Merit cream shadows don't last very long. Tbh, They're a little hard to blend, even brand new but, I guess that makes them super long wearing! Thank you for sharing!
i wonder if anyone is able to actually get through one of the pots of the merit shades in time before they get too dry lol i hope you end up loving Doux as much as I do. it's definitely worth getting a sample if you can!
Hi. Did you see on the other end of the Glossier brow pencil, there's a little sandpaper-ish strip to use as a sharpener? I got it last week. Love the Cool Brown shade.
I also got the Fawn palette and I was a bit disappointed (it's the first LE eyeshadow I ever got). I was wondering if I should just get some single eyeshadows and change it up but what if I still don't like them 😅 I then got the Chantecaille Cheetah trio and absolutely love it 🤷
there are some gems in the singles! honestly Fawn was more lackluster than Vega, when I first got Vega it excited me! the shimmery shades (Moonswirl and Supernova) packed more of a punch than the shimmers in Fawn. how do you feel about the matte shadows? are you liking how they build up and blend or are they not your thing?
@@ttsandra I quite like the mattes though they are not the "best formula" I have ever tried, I prefer the (old) Lorac, Viseart and (surprisingly) the Charlotte Tilbury ones!
Hi Sandra, I saw the LE lipsticks and they look beautiful, but I'll wait to see your impression of them. What shade did you choose? Six months ago I bought PHLUR perfume in Somebody Wood and I love it, especially now in the Fall. I wear Father Figure which is another favorite of mine. I have to say I never understood why people spray their clothes with a fragrance instead of their skin. I always worry that the oils in the perfume could stain. I can't believe it's time for the Sephora sale already. I do want to buy the INN Beauty Extreme Calm moisturizer and repurchase some brow products and possibly the CT Beautiful Skin foundation or the Dior stick foundation. Which would you recommend? Hope you have a good week.
I loooove the extreme cream moisturizer! I ordered the lipstick shade Lisa because it looks similar to Kitten Mischief but more pink and I find myself wishing Kitten Mischief was more pink in the fall/winter when I wear it 😄 kind of felt like it was meant to be! I haven’t tried the CT beautiful skin foundation but from what I can gather is it’s more dewy? I know lots of people with dry skin seem to love it. I love the Dior foundation stick for my combo/oily skin but it you struggle with dryness/dry patches/dehydration it can emphasize those issues in which case the CT could be a better option! Regarding the perfume - I don’t spray it directly on my clothes I spray it in the air and then walk in it. Never had an issue with stains that way 🙂 obvs most stuff I spray on my skin but some fragrances work nicely as they sit on clothes especially in cold weather!
Hated the longevity of Reve-- I could not smell it though I loved the scent. But Doux (though not my scent preference) lasted alll day on skin, def a skin scent

Hi Sandra I always love your recommendations, we have similar skin tone & oily, I also have a very curated make up collection, I love the Sylvie Chantacaille eyeshadow, that’s kind of my daily go to, however I would love to try the Lisa Eldridge eyeshadows, can pls be so kind to do a swatch of the vs Silvie? ❤❤ thanks.
Sylvie is most similar to Phoebe but not exactly the same, I'd say Phoebe is just a touch warmer. Ione and Irene have different tones altogether so not really comparable in terms of colour in terms of finish, Sylvie has a soft sheen to it whereas the Lisa Eldridge liquid silk shadows have a soft matte finish. from my experience the Lisa Eldridge eyeshadows have better lasting power than the Chantecaille - i definitely get more creasing with the chantecaille formula. it doesn't bother me because it's easy to just blend out, but it's worth noting!
Oh I love skin care, I think of the name but it is newish from Clarins - well by newish I mean probs 12 months but it is a gel but not a gel gel it turns into a oil slightly and it is in a pump these days. I love the formula of the Glossier eyebrow pencil but the packaging is terrible. The white outer coating started flaking off and getting all over my hands and face just a couple of weeks after I bought it. I managed to wipe the loose layer off with acetone nail polish remover, but it’s still annoying!
