Thank you for your help in making this movie as honest as it is. I have struggled with obesity my hole life. I heard about this movie and cried just watching the trailer. I didn't know exactly why but I had to see it. I've shed 3 tears in the last 25 years and that was at the bedside of my grandfathers death bed while I held my grandmother. This movie had tears streaming down my face as I identified so strongly with the actions, emotions and self destructive motivations of Charlie. The end binge seen broke something inside.of me. Never have I seen my pain so honestly portrayed on screen. It punched holes in walls that have stood for decades and small scared kid still inside me that has been self conscince from being picked on felt safe for a minute. I only watched the movie last night due to its limited release but I am profoundly grateful even though I am emotional raw. I want to get better for my wife my kids and for me. I don't want to feel worthless anymore. Thank you to everyone involved.

This film really exemplifies the painful and pathological nature of obesity from the outsiders and the insiders (charlie's) perspective. Just by sharing and talking about it is a step in the right direction and the inspiring potential this film holds. You nor anyone else struggling is "worthless" and your post and communication proves this! Thank you for sharing your pain and good luck on your journey to wellness!

Oh my goodness, thank you! I immediately needed to add this to my watch list when it showed up in my feed because I've been quite reluctant to watch this movie, fearing it would be too painful to endure! Even though I peripherally knew OAC had some participation with the movie, & I've heard Mr. Fraser speak with deep respect, language, and compassion when speaking of the character, his experience, and people with obesity during his current media tour, I wasn't aware of the extent of OAC's involvement. When I started this video and saw my 2018 roomie, my YWM conference buddies, & our "fearless leader" Joe (4 of my most favorite people & 2 I've just not met yet, lol!), I just breathed a HUGE sigh of relief about the conversation AND the movie! Knowing how OAC and each of YOU participated just might get me over that edge to watch it! I still may feel uncomfortable watching it, but at least I know the story isn't a caricature of our individual and collective experiences as people living with the condition of obesity! So, thank you once again for being there for US!
