The Jubilee line has 8 stops between the two, Metropolitan line only has 2. Having an option like you suggest would greatly benefit passengers looking to travel both a short and longer distances. Reasonably you should have the direct shuttle service to the city center running only on match days and then another service stopping at all stations on the way into the city which allows to serve the stadium parking lot as a park&ride whenever there's no match on, that way it also serves as a transit connection for the suburban hellscape that is to be developed around the stadium :)

Edit: made an additional comment (#10 reply below) which is beneficial for additional context. Recently went to Wembley Stadium in the UK which this stadium looks like. At Wembley the train station & stadium are the furthest facilities apart in terms of distance. All of the shops, hotels & food/drinks places are dotted along 'Olympic Way' (between Wembley Park Station & Wembley Stadium) which directs foot traffic mostly in one direction (towards the stadium before the game, then in reverse after). Another example would be the London Stadium (host of London 2012 Olympics), most rail passengers get off at Stratford Station & walk through Westfield Shopping Centre as the most convenient direction of travel before arriving at the stadium. At the moment rail passengers in Verde Beach can enter the stadium without interacting with any of the leisure district. This is the same with car passengers. Both sets of footfall would have to walk past the stadium to enter the leisure district which creates less synergy in directions of travel in the hours before the game (people walking towards leisure district at the same time as some leaving the leisure district). Businesses here would want the maximum exposure before and after the game and foot traffic that has to walk past these businesses ensures this would happen. At the moment they are missing out on a lot of matchday trade. Would this stadium benefit with the leisure district between the train station & stadium? Swapping the leisure district & stadium would ensure rail & car attendees walk in the same direction and not conflict with direction of travel. Hope this makes sense!
I used to live very close to the Emirates Stadium (home of Arsenal) and it's exactly the same there. Three trains stations within walking distance, but all of them spread out enough from the stadium itself that you are more or less forced to go through the shops to get to it. It's also a super residential area, as is Stratford where London Stadium is, and a lot of people will pay a premium to live in very close proximity to the stadium if there are a big supporter of the team.

You should add a crossing in front of the stadium (or even 2 so that the converted roads are symmetrical). Also, the median between parking lots should have young lindens :)
I'm a former locomotive engineer. I'm far from being any sort of expert on track layout, but I can tell you that a switch on a bridge over a running body of water would be absolutely terrifying to me if I had to get out and switch it manually, haha.
I’m always amazed at what you achieve in vanilla. I find myself shouting at the screen, “Just turn anarchy on!” Great work. I really like the train lines.
What is great about this channel it comes with story time. These creators all have a unique way of content with this one with the back story, biffa with traffic control, and few candy with her decorations of areas.
I just wanted to say, after having a stressful day at work, I LOVE LOVE LOVE just coming home and watching your City Skyline videos. It's very calming.
I’d like to see more fences and guardrails on properties and roads edging up to cliffs and water sources. Sometimes they look minor but compared to the sims, they look pretty deadly haha. Like looking at piers and harbours from water level, they are so high!
about the bike connection to the stadium: you could tunnel a bike path to the back of the back of the parking lot (still 7min in, disregard if the connection is made later)
I feel like changing the station at Myrtle Park to a bypass station would be a good idea since there is now a train line that bypasses the station. Otherwise the stadium line will always have to wait for blue line trains at that station.
biking is great. I used to drive the 15 km from bochum to the stadium in gelsenkirchen by bike. Always a amazing tour. The Stadium could be named Bannhammer Stadium named after the Bannhammer Bank in City Skylines ;D
I make this comment every once and a while hoping he'll do one. They're hard to do in Vanilla though cause the assets available don't really lend itself to the look needed. I attempted one in one of my builds and ended up making it a park and calling it a historic race track that people can drive on kind of like the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
@@Godisangry I see them and I've been playing around. It's likely a CWC build, not a VB build. Your points about doing this in vanilla are what I'm running into. Even having find it would be helpful, tbh.
@@CityPlannerPlays Definitely not a VB build unless you go for the old racetrack turned into park approach I took. I only just started messing around with mods a few weeks ago so I haven't tried the racetrack yet cause i'm still trying to get a handle on how a lot of these work. Much love from a fellow Phil, except i've got 2 L's
I just want to thank you for your use of jacarandas in your landscaping. I live in southeast Queensland, Australia and it’s spring right now and all the jacarandas are in flower - it’s my favourite time of year. They’re a very popular ornamental here. I recently moved to a rural property and have a jacaranda-lined driveway and I love it.
As a landscape architecture student, I really love your landscapes, its really blend well with the buildings, roads and pathways. And I think landscape is really matter in the process as it can create a sense of place there😁.
I dont know if you have it somewhere else in the city but the arena area is a great place for the festival area from the concert DLC. Noise wont be a problem and plenty of transport and parking for tourists
I love this series ! and very rarely disagree with anything CPP designs however I do think that heavy landscaping around the stadium is a little much and not very nice to look at- makes it feel like an airport to me. I'm definitely not saying change it but maybe going forward try experiment with more unique and subtle ways to landscape. I like the name for it 'Riverside Park' or maybe just something like 'The Bay'
Wonderful video as always Phil. Maybe a good idea to put a little footpath in from your European bridge to your stadium road or even to your quay wall. As this will let football fans a chance not just to bike, take a train or drive to a match but also to walk over that Fabulous bridge too a game.
29:00 I know you really like your big, level, open parking lots, but stadiums *also* often have large garage facilities nearby for event parking especially in cramped locations next to interchanges. Some of the functional parking garage assets in the workshop would look much better and equally realistic in this type of location imho
Loved this episode, the little stadium district is so pretty, to me it's very satisfying that you're able to do all of this in the vanilla game. The Verde Beach series is my favorite, seeing that it has passed 100 episodes already reminds me that it will not last forever :( really hope that in the future you make another 100% vanilla city series after Verde Beach ends. I find it much more enjoyable the vanilla cities because I can see the city evolving in a way I can understand better and feel like I could "do" the same (not dismissing the amount of skill needed obviously) even though I use some mods myself in the game.
"Unreasonable and unrealistic pedestrian bridges." Have you seen the pedestrian bridges in Hong Kong? If anything, more cities should have that kind of facilities, separating traffic from people, giving them shade, connecting points of interest, and giving a nice view.
Day 1 of asking Phil to name a town. Hello Phil. Suggestion for Nicolet Bay. Name a big city (The Capitol or something) De Gaulle. The name matches the French theme and is named after a famous general and president for France during and after ww2, his name was Charles De Gaulle.
Hey Phil, huge fan of this episode; I thought it was very tastefully done. I agree that at some point it will be nice to have bus service into the area as an extra way to get to the stadium. Looking forward to the remaining development phases to further bring this portion of the city to life. Side note: If another pro franchise(s) comes to the city, I think a downtown arena redevelopment project may be in order. A lot of times this happens in older sections of inner cities/central business districts that maybe become abandoned. Possibly an area of DTVB that’s now 200+ yrs old would be a spot to look at in order to bring in pro basketball/hockey (or both), plus the venue could be used for major concerts as well. It would benefit from already existing transit services and help revitalize DTVB with a newer major attraction.
Been watching for a long time now, and this is absolutely my favorite build you've ever done. For a vanilla build it is absolutely stunning. I generally prefer modded builds, but the way you handled the interchange and railroads, the pedestrian and bike paths and the whole stadium/pedestrian district layout really demonstrates how much you have improved since you began. And I for one appreciate when you go off on some detailing. Just a really great last few episodes, so Tha k you for sharing.
That is the 4th video I am watching in order to learn some details about the game an I will be honest, your laugh makes me feel your passion. Lovely, kudos to you and to the team
Love the episode as always! A few things: 1) The commercial zones right near the stadium, at least in my experience, are usually high-density rather than low density (or a mix of both). 2) If you really want redundancy of the power system, just give the other side of the river its own smaller power generator (note that the Nuclear Power Plant and Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion Plant are the most efficient). 3) You should try to add a few more taxi depots in the city. Give the people some options. 4) Unrelated to the episode, but please change the rest of the inland water treatment plants to be the eco versions. Edit: Forgot to mention that you forgot to add fire, health, and police coverage to the new stadium area. Might wanna look into that.
Hey Phil! What about pulling the landscape out into the water under the train tracks and bridge and making the bike path go along the waterfront. With landscaping it would make for a great facility.
Hey Phil! Absolutely love your videos and you inspire me to think more about how I build my cities! I love your content and always love watching! Have a fantastic day!!! 😁
Love the build! The one thing I can see to improve it would be to exchange the locations of the stadium and the first parking area that you build. The reason being to create double-use parking for both the stadium when there's a game and the pedestrian area. It would just be more convenient for people coming there to park. I think it would be a slightly better fit for the parking area also which needed just a little more space.
Hi CPP! Municipal employee here as well. I feel like any time I've seen districts like this with parking across the street it's always had a tunnel rather than a bridge. While typically tunnels aren't built this close to large bodies of water, I think you could make a case that with the huge quay wall being built there the city spent a decent amount of money to lower the water table in the area to support this construction.
I found your comment about highway sound barriers very interesting, here in Poland they are literally all over the place, whether it's a highway or more local connection between some rural cities.
Have the separate roadway type be a bus road to simulate the shuttle/tram service that an attraction like that would have. Also maybe a splinter of the walking bridge to be closer to the park.
There is not much too do in this game but what’s fun for me is the creation and I get more joy watching other people come up with cool ideas and that’s what I like the most about a game like this. It’s not hard but let’s your creative mind shine
Another great build! Just a few thoughts: 1) I think a bus route from the far parking lots to the front of the stadium (and maybe extended to the front of the pedestrian area) could be a good simulation to the shuttles that stadiums that I’ve been to have had 2) I wonder whether a ferry stop could be cool to have as well, just to provide fans with other ways of getting too and from the stadium 3) you could name the parking lots “Leonid Lot” and “Lyrid Lot” after 2 of the largest meteor showers in history 4) I wonder whether it would make sense to have some food trucks or something where fans could get a quick bite too Overall an awesome build and I’m loving all the growth of Verde Beach!
Great vid! I'd suggest keeping the area near the side lot as a lawn as opposed to the weeds you have now - if you wanna keep it as a "tailgating" area, it'd make sense to give them the extra space if they need it.
I hate to do this Phil, but there’s a big ol lump in one of the parking lots by the stadium, that’s totally unreasonable. I love your work! It keeps me coming back to this game to challenge myself
35:28 - This looks exactly like nashville (from the 1 time I've seen it)! I remember coming down broadway and standing on the keywall and looking across the water to the titans stadium. Crazy how its turned out so similar
Hey Phil! I finally caught back up to current day VB after taking some time off from your videos. I got back into your channel because I finally got the game on PC and the hours of content from you really came in handy as I've been building my first city. Much love to you, keep up the great work!
For team names you should go Verde Beach FC. And for a stadium I suggest Estadio de Fuego. I think you can change the seat color too which you should change to green if you can since “Verde”
Have you used the boat museum yet? If not it could add to the stadium area as a tourist area. Also if you're going for a more urban renewal feel there are some loft warehouse buildings on the workshop that have both residential and commercial use that you could add that gives that type of feel to it.
@Rik Span that's right he did I forgot about when he added the World's fair. I think there is a real opportunity to add some sort of tourist attraction by the waters edge. I know there is a tall ship prop in the workshop or maybe the pier marketplace
I usually struggle when my cities get past 15.000 people as there are basically no restrictions to building anymore. Right now I've trying to come up with a plan to build a stadium/entertainment district in my city , you dropped your video just in time!!
For the stadium name it “The Crater”, the home stadium of the “Verde Beach Meteorites”

You should add a crossing in front of the stadium (or even 2 so that the converted roads are symmetrical). Also, the median between parking lots should have young lindens :)
Happy to see VB growing again! Can't wait to see where the quest to fit those last few unique assets in takes us!
I'm a former locomotive engineer. I'm far from being any sort of expert on track layout, but I can tell you that a switch on a bridge over a running body of water would be absolutely terrifying to me if I had to get out and switch it manually, haha.
haha, great point!! Where do you think a more appropriate place would be? near the station in myrtle park and having double track until then?
@@CityPlannerPlays Double track sounds safer to me
I’m always amazed at what you achieve in vanilla. I find myself shouting at the screen, “Just turn anarchy on!”
Great work.
Thank you and glad I could provide some chill content
I’d like to see more fences and guardrails on properties and roads edging up to cliffs and water sources. Sometimes they look minor but compared to the sims, they look pretty deadly haha. Like looking at piers and harbours from water level, they are so high!
The older bridge was so beautiful! You should mulligan it and the train would only move slowly over the river
This build is so good I hope it never ends
about the bike connection to the stadium: you could tunnel a bike path to the back of the back of the parking lot
(still 7min in, disregard if the connection is made later)
This might be my favorite episode ever for anything in this game. This was awesome!!
With the palm trees you need a road maintenance building to clean them up, especially after a storm. Lore reasons
It would be cool to see a racetrack! A road course like Road America. Loving the series 😊
Great video! I love the meteor as a mascot and I think the team should be called the Verde Beach Comets ☄️
As a landscape architecture student, I really love your landscapes, its really blend well with the buildings, roads and pathways. And I think landscape is really matter in the process as it can create a sense of place there😁.
“I don’t like that Phillip. We’re gonna leave” had me rolling. Didn’t expect that 😅
Never seen or watched this guy. But i put it in and watched hour long of making a entertainment district and i like it alot. XD
I dont know if you have it somewhere else in the city but the arena area is a great place for the festival area from the concert DLC. Noise wont be a problem and plenty of transport and parking for tourists
Ye there is one by fireman's Park
You read my mind when you put in that pedestrian area. I love how connected it is. Looks great!
I agree. the stadium is beautiful enough and the trees block it
Tunnel under interchange to new neighborhoods and bike lines to railway station will be ideal for connectivity.
Wonderful video as always Phil. Maybe a good idea to put a little footpath in from your European bridge to your stadium road or even to your quay wall. As this will let football fans a chance not just to bike, take a train or drive to a match but also to walk over that Fabulous bridge too a game.
as much as I dislike them in real life, unwalkable car centric dystopias are very fun to build and watch! keep it up!
Maybe you should add a footpath connection from the pier to the european bridge, so people can use the bridge to go to the stadium by foot! :)
I feel as of late we just don't see Clearwater County that much. That one is my favorite.
Earliest I've ever been. Love your vids man!
Night and day difference from pre-post adding trees and flowers and such. Bravo it looks so coT DANG GOOD
29:00 I know you really like your big, level, open parking lots, but stadiums *also* often have large garage facilities nearby for event parking especially in cramped locations next to interchanges.
Been looking forward to this one since you ploted these districts a couple weeks ago!
Oh almighty algorithm bless this video
Since the beginning of the series, the city has grown so much that it's actually the Verde Beach Metropolitan Area now. Love it!!! ❤❤❤
Day 1 of asking Phil to name a town. Hello Phil. Suggestion for Nicolet Bay. Name a big city (The Capitol or something) De Gaulle. The name matches the French theme and is named after a famous general and president for France during and after ww2, his name was Charles De Gaulle.
Michigan's French Heritage is more 18th century and less 20th century, FWIW.
It would benefit from already existing transit services and help revitalize DTVB with a newer major attraction.
this is gonna be close to my house. i cant wait
Looooved this build! Great looking stadium district!!!
I love hearing you think through the layout, very interesting
That is the 4th video I am watching in order to learn some details about the game an I will be honest, your laugh makes me feel your passion. Lovely, kudos to you and to the team
The bike bridge didn't work at first because it connected to a highway segment that doesn't have pedestrian traffic.
Love all the detail, the new walkable key walls, and high speed rail! I'd love to see more of the new grasses instead of the weeds. They look awesome!
Great Build my friend, been watching the series since the start and have been loving it! Keep it up!
between the service interchange and the stadium district as a whole, I'm kind obsessed especially for how realistic it is
I can't believe I'm sitting and watching these videos for hours. Really good stuff.
Love the episode as always! A few things:
1) The commercial zones right near the stadium, at least in my experience, are usually high-density rather than low density (or a mix of both).
Awesome build, looks like somewhere I’d like to visit in real life.
Love the -vert ramp- bike connection into the stadium!
Nice to see a city tour where nothings on fire! Great work as always.
I LOVE VERDE BEACH! I'm all caught up now and i want more episodes. I like verde beach more than the others. You do an awesome job!
Everyone older than 30 in Verde Beach remembers when it was called 'The Crater' but it's official name is Johnson Aggregates Stadium
Hey Phil! What about pulling the landscape out into the water under the train tracks and bridge and making the bike path go along the waterfront. With landscaping it would make for a great facility.
I was looking for this comment. It Removes the extra bridge too.
Hey Phil! Absolutely love your videos and you inspire me to think more about how I build my cities! I love your content and always love watching! Have a fantastic day!!! 😁
Thank you! Hope you have a great day, too!
Love the build! The one thing I can see to improve it would be to exchange the locations of the stadium and the first parking area that you build. The reason being to create double-use parking for both the stadium when there's a game and the pedestrian area. It would just be more convenient for people coming there to park. I think it would be a slightly better fit for the parking area also which needed just a little more space.
good call on the sandstone, i really think it adds to the whole place
This is such a gorgeous build! I love it!
This looks like it would be a genuinely fun place to hang out. Nice work!
Yo brother. Love your videos. It’s my main go-to when I just want to watch something chill while I work/eat/nap/am bored. Keep up the good work!
It’s not hard but let’s your creative mind shine
your attention to detail is crazy! the finished product looked amazing
Beautifully built! So excited for the next phase!
37:15 - you should look at a promenade that's in Rockwall on Lake Ray Hubbard
Great build as always. This looks amazing!
I saw a few comments should be "so weve heard from town hall meetings that this is dangerous so lets fix it"
Another great build! Just a few thoughts:
1) I think a bus route from the far parking lots to the front of the stadium (and maybe extended to the front of the pedestrian area) could be a good simulation to the shuttles that stadiums that I’ve been to have had
2) I wonder whether a ferry stop could be cool to have as well, just to provide fans with other ways of getting too and from the stadium
3) you could name the parking lots “Leonid Lot” and “Lyrid Lot” after 2 of the largest meteor showers in history
4) I wonder whether it would make sense to have some food trucks or something where fans could get a quick bite too
Overall an awesome build and I’m loving all the growth of Verde Beach!
Great vid! I'd suggest keeping the area near the side lot as a lawn as opposed to the weeds you have now - if you wanna keep it as a "tailgating" area, it'd make sense to give them the extra space if they need it.
Yay more content. excited to see this stadium area.
I hate to do this Phil, but there’s a big ol lump in one of the parking lots by the stadium, that’s totally unreasonable. I love your work! It keeps me coming back to this game to challenge myself
This build is amazing Phil! I could watch your videos for hours if I had the time. Very relaxing :)
27:34 Its not just a rock, its a boulder!
35:28 - This looks exactly like nashville (from the 1 time I've seen it)! I remember coming down broadway and standing on the keywall and looking across the water to the titans stadium. Crazy how its turned out so similar
i-10 industrial park would be great for entertainment extension and a smaller stadium. Maybe basketball with a train stop on the main high speed line
Hey Phil! I finally caught back up to current day VB after taking some time off from your videos. I got back into your channel because I finally got the game on PC and the hours of content from you really came in handy as I've been building my first city. Much love to you, keep up the great work!
Love how much thought goes into these vids!
For team names you should go Verde Beach FC. And for a stadium I suggest Estadio de Fuego. I think you can change the seat color too which you should change to green if you can since “Verde”
Excellent! I appreciate how you put the curlicue bike paths in to your stadium district.
Have you used the boat museum yet? If not it could add to the stadium area as a tourist area. Also if you're going for a more urban renewal feel there are some loft warehouse buildings on the workshop that have both residential and commercial use that you could add that gives that type of feel to it.
It's been used in the world's fair
@Rik Span that's right he did I forgot about when he added the World's fair. I think there is a real opportunity to add some sort of tourist attraction by the waters edge. I know there is a tall ship prop in the workshop or maybe the pier marketplace
I usually struggle when my cities get past 15.000 people as there are basically no restrictions to building anymore. Right now I've trying to come up with a plan to build a stadium/entertainment district in my city , you dropped your video just in time!!
Hey Phil!! Love the videos, I'm a newer UA-cam fan and have been watching the old Verde Beach videos. Love the progression of the city.
🧐 my favorite emoji. Also started playing city sky lines because of your channel. Thank you
Asset idea could be a parking garage for the rainy days.
