How Oreo Cookies Are Made
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 лип 2023
- In 1898, several baking companies merged to form the National Baking Company, also called Nabisco. This was the birth of the organization that would eventually create the Oreo cookie. Today Oreo cookies are produced at factories in 18 countries all over the world. These factories help produce a whopping 40 billion cookies per year!
So how are they made?

I never knew the intricate details behind Oreo production until I watched this video. It's a fascinating look into the world of cookie-making.
No mention of high fructose corn syrup? Seriously, it's literally the second ingredient on the box.
Two initial mistakes. 1: It's the National BISCUIT Company, you can see the name on the side of the factory in the photo. 2: The Sunshine BAKING Company created the Hydrox Cookie, and then NABISCO simply copied it to make the OREO cookie. Most folks have neve even heard of Hydrox, Sunshine's loss. After that you were pretty correct.
I too was wondering how they read "biscuit" but spoke "baking".
I really disliked the Hydrox cookie!! They were terrible. But the Oreo's were delicious
I seen that on history channel about cookies. N cracker's
they should sell Hydrox in my country. if they are forreal id be buying them.
they sell oreo though and they are terrible.
That one kid eating oreo is Steve Urkel from family matters 😊

Has everybody noticed, they are putting less and less and less filling in the cookie! Pretty soon there won’t be any filling in it but the photo will show lots of filling!😮
Notice how the Oreos are smaller now thanks to shrinkflation?
The "regular" size now is actually what the Thin Oreos used to be. And the "double stuf" now used to be the regular size.
Given obesity is at 50% in the US that's not a bad thing.
Why do they keep saying "National Baking Company" when the factory as well as the packaging says "National BISCUIT Company" ??
It is two companies that merged into one.
@@cyndim8785 No it's not. National Baking Company originated in Jamaica in the 1930s and has nothing to do with the 114 small-time American bakeries that combined into the National Biscuit Company which then turned into Nabisco and is the one responsible for Oreo. The narrator and/or script writer simply made a mistake that no one fact checked before they churned out the video.
All this time it was Nabako. We’ve just been saying it wrong. Who knew?
The narrator also said “cyndrilical” instead of “cylindrical” so I suspect the production was just pretty lax on checking his work.
That's where the name NABSCO
Never in my lifetime i have seen oreo with this much vanilla filling 👀

Never heard of double stuffed Oreos? 🙃☺️😶🫠
The cocoa give the oreo its signature look, showing a black kid.
Am I the only one who noticed a young Steve Urkel
There is a Nabisco bakery in Portland Or. You can always tell when they are baking Oreos. You can smell them baking for blocks.
They have so many flavors its crazy!
Interesting. They now make a gluten-free Oreo, both regular and double filling , that is almost identical in taste to regular Oreos. Quite delicious! 😊
yes!
That was a cool tour. That's fine impressive numbers and machines. Got a new subscriber. Was fun and informative to watch. Great video
Thanks for the sub!
One of my favourites! Thanks for the video
LOVE OREO COOKIES ❤
Jaleel White AKA Steve Urkel. Oreo cookies vs chips ahoy chocolate chip cookies.
👏
Hydrox tastes crisper and creamier. Has better quality ingredients and holds better dunked in milk .
Wrong. They are garbage
A delicious healthy cookie.
Yes
Now, go find out about Hydrox, the ORIGINAL chocolate sandwich cookie
Now eat crap.. They suck
Love that many varieties are also vegan. Perfect for those on many special diets, or with food sensitivities.
Love oreo cookies❤
1:18 my right ear: 😌 my left ear: 😕
Questionable “other ingredients” lol
Very informative. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Organic flower! Nice
I love love em..my favorite cookie..but I love the thin with very lil frosting 💯💯👈🏾👈🏾
What are the "sometimes other ingredients?"
Nice to see how diabetes is manufactured
Sad many of you are very uneducated
not really , You don't get diabetis by eating cookies yes is one of factors but not the main one.: full sugar fizzy and energy drinks, refined carbs such as white bread, white rice and sugary breakfast cereals and red and processed meats like bacon, ham, sausages, pork, beef and lamb are linked with an increased risk of type 2 diabetes
Dont be ridiculous
Oreos gives me insomnia. Every time I have them in the house they call my name and say “You know you want me”. I wake up to grab a glass of cold milk and dunk as many as I want. I can’t help myself, I’m such a sucker for an Oreo.
The methamphetamine in my pantry says the same thing. Like it actually talks to me.
Nice digestive biscuits
The best cookie on earth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My new idea Oreo cereal
To late . that was already done
Vegetable and Canola oil is all over now
Quality control .if this means tasting them ,I found my job calling.🙂
and yet the cookies I see in this video aren't oreo branded 😢
Yeah, it probably uses Oreo for the familiarity of the brand, it probably gives extra click and brand recognition. In reality the process showing is more a general way how the Oreo style chocolate fill cookies are made than specific about Oreo. Then again the process is probably 99% the same for actual Oreos so not really blaming them for simply using Oreo to get more interest as is mostly the same thing Oreo would actually be doing.
I worked at a factory that made oreo cookies half of what they said in this video was never done
😂😂😂
What was different?
This is one of the worst types of processed foods but it’s so darn delicious 😋 😂
It really is!
Why is it worse than others? Loaded with sugar and the canola oil is bad, but what cookies etc aren’t?
@@VIpanfriedI’m wondering that too
Forget how the Oreos are made. . . I want to know how those machines were invented and made!
That black child was the actor Jaleel white ....from Family Matters show....irckel
Good video!
How do you make the Frosting creamy filling in the middle.
I love Oreos dunked in milk especially Double Stuff Oreos. Now I can't have em. I've just been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.😕
🍪🍪🍪 DAELICIOUS.!!! 😋😋😋
So good!
I like your videos
“Nabisco” is now the most clever company name I’ve seen.
YUMMMMMMMMM
My favorite cookie ever👄
Very Interesting 😊
Glad you think so!
I got a bag of cookies with an entire row of backwards assembled cookies. How did this happen?
It's had aspirin for kids in it's flavor... But don't tell nobody cause it's the secret ingredient. So addictive.
Now I want an Oreo with milk !!!
3:45 A CYNDRILICAL pump? That's special.
I noticed it too!! 😅😂😂😂😂
Delicious biscuit
It looks like he’s shoveling coal
Theres always 1 Oreo missing
Then how do I sometimes get one side of the cookie bit the other way around I’ve had the engraving side the wrong way around
Must be some kind of switching, or they aren't actually showing an Oreo baking facility. It's well known that one of the biggest deals in the history of Oreo's was when they signed the contract for ALL of their cocoa powder to be exclusively from Hershey's. That was a major turning point in the success of the company.
1:20 is that steve urkal from family matters show 😂😂i love him
❤❤❤Yes!! Actually that's Jaleel White!! Who played Steve Urkel from Family Matters and he's the original voice of.... Sonic the Hedgehog!!!
You know what I am tired of shrinkflation not one company have stayed consistent and I am tired.
Woow nice.. ⭐⭐⭐👌👌👌👌👌👍👍👍🤗🤗🤗🤗💛💛💛💛
*Dentist Hack = Eat Oreos before going for a Cleaning!*
Original flavor oreo is too sweet. Cant even finish 5 cookies.
And this is your problem
💥💥💥💫
4:08 You missed a cookie 😂
You mean it makes 5,000 per minute, not per hour. Have a little pride in your work man.
Guys so this is how Miss Circle was born
All the videos are awesome, informative ,this channel is going to touch hights 👍
Thank you so much 😀
Hail hydrox hail hydrox
They need to clean these machines!
He keeps mentioning ‘other ingredients’ which sounds a little suspicious
Oreos are smaller than they were 60 years ago when I was a kid. And the filling is so thin now it barely holds the cookie together. Plus, I’m pretty sure they’re making them in Mexico now.
What is the most popular cookie? Oreo? Chocolate Chip?
In the first 6 seconds you said it started as the "National BAKING Company". It was the National Biscuit Company, as the image at :06 in clearly shows. Wondering how much else is wrong in the video. Oh! Here we are: I am pretty sure these are not Oreos being made. The logo and packaging look wrong, and I would be stunned if Nabisco has people "shoveling" batter into a machine!
Please bring oreo in Bangladesh. Can't pay 3-5 times more than the actual price.
you're acting like this account has control over that
@@redbean9410 If enough people say that, people who can bring oreo bring it here.
I only heard of them like 10years ago. They ain’t that old are they
Eating Oreo while watching 😂
Same!
How can they churn out 3,000 cookies per minute when the beginning of the process only made 5,000 biscuits per hr, or enough for 2,500 cookies per hour?
I noticed that also. There’s no way that machine was turning out 5000 cookies per hour. It looked like they were coming out probably 5000 per minute.
"5000 cookies every hour, 3000 cookies every minute"
The math ain't Mething 🤔
you think too much, thats why you dont have a heart on your comment. so here is one from me ❤

More importantly who made the machine so it can make the cookies. 😊
Mast
So y'all didn't see Jaleel White @ 1:20
I just saw Jaleel White N Oreo cookies commercial he acting for long time 😊
Steve Urkel
When the ingredient list for the filling starts out great and then notes "sometimes other ingredients"... the sometimes is sketchy since it's not all the time and other ingredients can be anything like beaver butthole
You do know they make many flavors now.. Not just the plain white filling.
At one time Oreos contained hydrogenated soybean oils, soy lecithin and whey. They seemed have removed all the bad stuff except soy lecithin. Not acceptable for soy allergies. Really good cookie though.
whey was the healthiest part of the cookie which they removed!
Possibly correct. It is a major allergen for many. They are trying to please the masses.
If they try to accommodate everyone's issues its very time consuming and expensive. Learn to live without.
Wtf,was that erkel
The machine spitting out the cream filling was filthy.

Me Watching while eating Oreos
Who else is here while eating Oreos? These mofos are good.
The “other ingredients” in the filling is pig lard lol
Wondrring why, the variation of the Thriller music was used.
To make you ask questions
I don’t think dry ice is edible 😐
speaking about that... how are they doing with their "carbon footprint"
"Sometimes other ingredients. "
Why can't they sell them without the cream I have to scap it out
Ew
But the Oreo wasn't a original, the two brothers who founded the company (which was later taken away) created it. The company they used to own just copied it
Might want to pay attention
@eileenmcdonald1599 aw mate, look it up. It's an interesting story to what happened.
bruh i got here cause i was watching a vid about Miss Circle eating an Oreo
