Two initial mistakes. 1: It's the National BISCUIT Company, you can see the name on the side of the factory in the photo. 2: The Sunshine BAKING Company created the Hydrox Cookie, and then NABISCO simply copied it to make the OREO cookie. Most folks have neve even heard of Hydrox, Sunshine's loss. After that you were pretty correct.
@@cyndim8785 No it's not. National Baking Company originated in Jamaica in the 1930s and has nothing to do with the 114 small-time American bakeries that combined into the National Biscuit Company which then turned into Nabisco and is the one responsible for Oreo. The narrator and/or script writer simply made a mistake that no one fact checked before they churned out the video.
Has everybody noticed, they are putting less and less and less filling in the cookie! Pretty soon there won’t be any filling in it but the photo will show lots of filling!😮
Notice how the Oreos are smaller now thanks to shrinkflation? The "regular" size now is actually what the Thin Oreos used to be. And the "double stuf" now used to be the regular size.
Interesting. They now make a gluten-free Oreo, both regular and double filling , that is almost identical in taste to regular Oreos. Quite delicious! 😊
not really , You don't get diabetis by eating cookies yes is one of factors but not the main one.: full sugar fizzy and energy drinks, refined carbs such as white bread, white rice and sugary breakfast cereals and red and processed meats like bacon, ham, sausages, pork, beef and lamb are linked with an increased risk of type 2 diabetes
great video! i really enjoyed the behind-the-scenes look at how oreos are made. but honestly, the process felt a bit too mechanical for me. i kinda miss the charm of homemade cookies. do you think mass production takes away some of that personal touch?
Oreos gives me insomnia. Every time I have them in the house they call my name and say “You know you want me”. I wake up to grab a glass of cold milk and dunk as many as I want. I can’t help myself, I’m such a sucker for an Oreo.
Yeah, it probably uses Oreo for the familiarity of the brand, it probably gives extra click and brand recognition. In reality the process showing is more a general way how the Oreo style chocolate fill cookies are made than specific about Oreo. Then again the process is probably 99% the same for actual Oreos so not really blaming them for simply using Oreo to get more interest as is mostly the same thing Oreo would actually be doing.
great video! really loved the behind-the-scenes look at how Oreos are made. but honestly, i have to say, i think double-stuffed Oreos are overrated. sometimes less is more, you know?
Oreos are smaller than they were 60 years ago when I was a kid. And the filling is so thin now it barely holds the cookie together. Plus, I’m pretty sure they’re making them in Mexico now.
Must be some kind of switching, or they aren't actually showing an Oreo baking facility. It's well known that one of the biggest deals in the history of Oreo's was when they signed the contract for ALL of their cocoa powder to be exclusively from Hershey's. That was a major turning point in the success of the company.
The process of making Oreo cookies is fascinating, especially seeing how precise and efficient the machinery is! Did you know that over 34 billion Oreos are produced every year? What’s your favorite way to enjoy an Oreo?
They didn't create orero , they stole and copied the original one called "Hydrox" then all 3 successive owners of the original Hydrox company died young of unidentified causes
One time I went to a wedding and the pastor was using the Oreo cookie as a reference to marriage. He said and I quote .. "Make sure the white stuff is always in your marriage" LOL ...yes, he actually said that.
I hate their plastic packaging. I miss the old ones that were a paper that let you fold and seal it at the end. These new ones never close right and cookies always get stale.
How can they churn out 3,000 cookies per minute when the beginning of the process only made 5,000 biscuits per hr, or enough for 2,500 cookies per hour?
In the first 6 seconds you said it started as the "National BAKING Company". It was the National Biscuit Company, as the image at :06 in clearly shows. Wondering how much else is wrong in the video. Oh! Here we are: I am pretty sure these are not Oreos being made. The logo and packaging look wrong, and I would be stunned if Nabisco has people "shoveling" batter into a machine!
He keeps mentioning ‘other ingredients’ which sounds a little suspicious
MSG
@@samo9658 Made in Mexico.Nabisco is a sellout.
Exactly😂😂😮
Never in my lifetime i have seen oreo with this much vanilla filling 👀

Never heard of double stuffed Oreos? 🙃☺️😶🫠
I never knew the intricate details behind Oreo production until I watched this video. It's a fascinating look into the world of cookie-making.

I too was wondering how they read "biscuit" but spoke "baking".
I really disliked the Hydrox cookie!! They were terrible. But the Oreo's were delicious
I seen that on history channel about cookies. N cracker's
they should sell Hydrox in my country. if they are forreal id be buying them.
they sell oreo though and they are terrible.
Oreo or Hydrox? I have never even seen a hydrox cookie
Why do they keep saying "National Baking Company" when the factory as well as the packaging says "National BISCUIT Company" ??
It is two companies that merged into one.
@@cyndim8785 No it's not. All this time it was Nabako. We’ve just been saying it wrong. Who knew?
The narrator also said “cyndrilical” instead of “cylindrical” so I suspect the production was just pretty lax on checking his work.
That's where the name NABSCO

I wish they would eliminate the Crisco in the middle.

Given obesity is at 50% in the US that's not a bad thing.
Yep. And some good old-fashioned Biden-flation
That one kid eating oreo is Steve Urkel from family matters 😊
Was looking for this comment
Questionable “other ingredients” lol
Am I the only one who noticed a young Steve Urkel
Interesting. They now make a gluten-free Oreo, both regular and double filling , that is almost identical in taste to regular Oreos. Quite delicious! 😊
yes!
LOVE OREO COOKIES ❤
They have so many flavors its crazy!
Those cookie cooling fans are ginormous!
There is a Nabisco bakery in Portland Or. You can always tell when they are baking Oreos. You can smell them baking for blocks.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
No mention of high fructose corn syrup? Seriously, it's literally the second ingredient on the box.
americans...
America they don’t know what there missing
Love that many varieties are also vegan. Perfect for those on many special diets, or with food sensitivities.
Jaleel White AKA Steve Urkel. Oreo cookies vs chips ahoy chocolate chip cookies.
👏
Factora, awesome video, your hard work really shows
Hydrox tastes crisper and creamier. Has better quality ingredients and holds better dunked in milk .
Wrong. They are garbage
You're funny.
One of my favourites! Thanks for the video
😂 1:20. Steve Urkle AKA Jaleel white
I worked at a factory that made oreo cookies half of what they said in this video was never done

Nice to see how diabetes is manufactured

and yet the cookies I see in this video aren't oreo branded 😢

Why is it worse than others? Loaded with sugar and the canola oil is bad, but what cookies etc aren’t?

Wtf,was that erkel
How do you make the Frosting creamy filling in the middle.
My favorite cookie ever👄
I got a bag of cookies with an entire row of backwards assembled cookies. How did this happen?
It's had aspirin for kids in it's flavor... But don't tell nobody cause it's the secret ingredient. So addictive.
“Nabisco” is now the most clever company name I’ve seen.
Guys so this is how Miss Circle was born
Vegetable and Canola oil is all over now
The best cookie on earth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What are the "sometimes other ingredients?"
Oreos used to be made with animal fats. Nowadays they are made with seed oils. The decline!
A delicious healthy cookie.
Yes
1:20 is that steve urkal from family matters show 😂😂i love him
❤❤❤Yes!! Actually that's Jaleel White!! Who played Steve Urkel from Family Matters and he's the original voice of.... Sonic the Hedgehog!!!

I just had an oreo that had way less filling than the others, just a tiny circle

Actually your hands were smaller when you were a kid.
Now I want an Oreo with milk !!!
I like your videos
You know what I am tired of shrinkflation not one company have stayed consistent and I am tired.
Yummy
I love Oreos dunked in milk especially Double Stuff Oreos. Now I can't have em. I've just been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.😕
yes you can eat 2 instead of 20!
Delicious biscuit
When will you release “Oreos: No Stuff”???????
Very Interesting 😊
Glad you think so!
🍪🍪🍪 DAELICIOUS.!!! 😋😋😋

It would be hard to work there them cookies look good.

Now, go find out about Hydrox, the ORIGINAL chocolate sandwich cookie
Now eat crap.. They suck
I wish they would make an option with no filling. I always scrape off the filling. I only like the cookies. 😂

@@lxvideostuff7200 real
Then how do I sometimes get one side of the cookie bit the other way around I’ve had the engraving side the wrong way around
You mean it makes 5,000 per minute, not per hour. Have a little pride in your work man.
Theres always 1 Oreo missing
I just want the cookie sometimes without the icing on it 😢 I wonder if they sell packs of the cookies by themselves.
I only heard of them like 10years ago. They ain’t that old are they
Was that Webster pulling a cookie out of the stack of Orio
*Dentist Hack = Eat Oreos before going for a Cleaning!*
Original flavor oreo is too sweet. Cant even finish 5 cookies.
And this is your problem
They didn't create orero , they stole and copied the original one called "Hydrox" then all 3 successive owners of the original Hydrox company died young of unidentified causes

Can they please stop using hydrogenated oils?
No hydrogenated oils shown on package currently. Must be mostly sugar.
I noticed that also. There’s no way that machine was turning out 5000 cookies per hour. It looked like they were coming out probably 5000 per minute.
