Hey Spiff, there's actually a real time FNAF challenge on "Return to Bloody Nights." In the challenge modes, there's a real time one where you have to survive an ACTUAL 6 hours in the game. It could be interesting to see, especially since the game is pretty scary itself

I genuinely love that this game doesn't go very in-depth with the lore. I've always thought that part of the reason why Fnaf isn't scary anymore is because plenty of the mysteries about what is going on around you have been solved. This game, however, just has the reverse bite of 83 and what little details the chef supplies you with. All of this was written in the silence.
Hi! Film person here. Writers strike ended but actors are still on strike. The extra money you mentioned around 28 minutes goes to production and distribution companies, which is a large reason as to why the actors are striking. They typically get paid outright without more income after a project releases onto streaming (bc streaming is so new, as in it was recognized in 2019 as distribution when the Big Five were announced, there aren't a whole lot of regulations)
If someone were to genuinely make a real-time Freddy's game, they should implement a bunch of "fail-safe" mechanics like this game did with Foxy and Freddy, allowing the player to react too slowly without immediately dying, but still having a serious consequence. It would allow consistently longer runs, let the difficulty increase over the course of the night, and would make the deaths feel more like the fault of the player as opposed to bad RNG.
37:40 And onward Is absolutely my favorite part of the video. The writing is unlike anything I have ever seen or heard, and the editing is the cherry on top!
So here's a funny thing (that you may have already realized but eh): Threadbear getting stuck in the conveyor is actually a good thing! It makes it so that none of the other characters can get in there even from other rooms so at some point most (if not all) of them should get stuck waiting for him to get unjammed. If that happens you can just patiently wait for the power load to go down while warding off the one animatronic that isn't stuck and when you wanna actually progress you can just unjam Threadbear and then everyone else should get sent back too (if they don't just turn off the conveyor again).
There is actually a six hour version of FNaF 1, with power scaled accordingly to several thousand percent and the animatronics slowed way down. It's a tricky balance to stay alert for so long without completely losing focus. If you want to play more classic-style fangames, I quite enjoy Fazbear Entertainment: Storage. Aside from the most unnecessarily banger music, it's just a well-paced retake of a lot of the gameplay elements in the series, due to the atrocious nature of FNaF 2's gameplay. It came to mind since you were talking about introducing mechanics to the player gradually.
I never thought I'd be asking this but, what's the six hour FNAF 1 game called? and why am I considering making my own fangame actually last six hours?(don't answer this)

Regarding the Saw Stop, it is annoyingly patented/owned/whatever and can be a real pain to get hold of. I think in Europe it might only be available on Festool saws, and not lower end brands. But it is really cool, if I remember correctly it stops the blade so quickly that the deceleration can knock the blade tips (which are often brazed on) straight off. That is of course small damage compared to the wrecked area where it collides with the aluminium block and the twisting that the blade will encounter.
This is not at all intended to be mean, but easily the most interesting part in this was Spiff 100% understanding how Saw Stops work and communicating it really clearly and effectively. Have you worked with tools a lot or something?

I like the way the game teaches its mechanics. The tutorial describes the tools available to the player, but not directly in relation to the animatronics since phoneguy is either ignorant or lying about their threat to the player. Therefore, the player have to figure out on their own how to actually use those tools against the animatronics.
Okay, so I understand why the FNAF 1 doors require power to remain closed-- if the power went out, the guard would be trapped, and it presents a fire hazard. Why do _these vents_ require power to remain closed, though?
This is cool; the design choice of the animatronics not having legs is probably a reference to a generation of Pizza Time Theater (the company that became Chuck E Cheese) animatronics, which only created characters from the waist up. They would be embeded in the stage as if the were emerging from behind a wall, hence no need for legs, only wires to hook em up. Pretty neat.
8:14 I mean, for a budget-constrained restaurant, blocking the conveyor there *does* make sense to overload the power. A cheap way you could do it is add brakes but not cut power to the motor, causing the motor to draw HUGE amounts of amps to try to get it moving again, and as soon as you release the brakes it starts going. So if you cheap out, yes, it does make sense for the conveyor to be worse stopped than not.

She just here to duel, and the annoyed expression on her face whenever she loses is amazing.

Dude became Charlie there for a second when talking about the saw stop
I'd apply in a heartbeat if this was the fast food work experience
This is a really unique FNAF fan game! I love how its not just keeping animatronics out with doors and vents.
