the opening breathes of magic
That Timpani part beginning the second movement ... that was badass. Bravo both to Mackey for his composition and the performers who did an excellent job.

Out of all of the performances of this concerto I've heard, his cadenza in the finale is by far my favorite

Jerry Junkin (the conductor in this video) was my conductor for the Wind Ensemble in region 17 this year. Easily my favorite band experience I’ve ever been a part of. I’ve never seen a conducting style I liked more.
