You don't have to believe in the Buddhist cosmology to be successful in your meditation. Many monks never see further than this world even though it is talked about in the suttas. However, there are some who do see these things, so there is reason to think they do exist. But, it doesn't matter. Radiate lovingkindness and 6r and Nibbana will arise!
Speaking from my own experience, I didn't believe in any of this and I went to my first retreat as an experiment to see whether the meditation works or not. I also had zero Buddism knowledge when I went to my first retreat. But it completely blew my mind!! 🤯I had no idea one can be that happy and the happiness lasts for a long time with fundamental personality changes. So not believing in it won't prevent you from making AMAZING progress at all. Even the Buddha said you don't need to believe in anything he's saying, just come and see for yourself. 😉 Keep up with the great work! 🥰🧘♀💕
