I-90 is the longest interstate highway in the lower 48 states connecting Seattle and Boston.
Yup. Over 3,000 miles of it. From I-5 in Seattle to MA-1A in East Boston, Boston.
I-80 is pretty long as well. NYC to SF

Wow, so many memories driving back with Dad back from fishing in Concord and then listening to Pink Floyds "Delicate sound of thunder".
It's hard to see in this video, but when you're approaching Fenway Park you can actually see the front of the video board in the center field bleachers. It was December in this video so probably nothing was on it. When I'm driving in before a game I'll often see the hanging sox logo spinning on the board. I've never driven by in that direction during a game (usually because i'm at the game).
I like the new exit numbers in mileage based system in Massachusetts. Massachusetts is not the only state to have the exit numbers in mileage based system, Rhode Island, Vermont, and even New York (state), especially I-81 in New York will have the exit numbers change to a mileage based system from Pennsylvania border to Canadian border for 190 miles. Too bad that Connecticut, Delaware, and New Hampshire will stuck with exit numbers in consecutive or sequential order along the interstate highways.
I thought the Feds *mandated* mileage based exit numbers!
I prefer sequential exit numbers myself.
Most states use mileage-based numbers. Typically, exits of even-numbered highways increase in number going eastward, while those of odd-numbered highways increase from north to south.
I’m laughing at myself for knowing the names of the streets on the overpasses before the signs were readable on the video 😂
Get ready for a decade of madness when the state embarks on the highway construction project in Allston to replace the elevated highway viaduct with an at-grade route!

@@ace20016The Alliston Viaduct. But, that doesn't mean that portion of I-90 will be COMPLETELY removed. It will just be replaced with an at-grade interchange.

Can you do I 90 east to I 93 north towards New Hampshire
Unfortunately, the camera failed before the bitter end, at MA 1A near Logan Airport. The history of not just the Turnpike, but the other two Interstates in the area, is one of lots of politics and even more money. From it's original end at MA 128 (I-95), the inability of I-95 to enter the city as was planned in 1948 and the continual traffic messes, even today, the city and state have put themselves in a corner of moving traffic versus New Urbanism. Good luck in solving it.

Boston has a TON of freeway tunnels around the City that make the City's Freeways inaccessible for Hazmats.
Speaking of tunnels, I was surprised that the Ted Williams Tunnel and the East End of I-90 in East Boston wasn't filmed in this video. I wonder why that is?

@@MileageMikeTravelsDamn. Well, I can tell, because for most of the video, the camera was moving a bit, so I'm thinking it was a bit loose or some sort. It is what it is. But, I hope you get to do a redo of that route at some point for a better video all the way through sometime soon.
what is the speed limit before you enter Suffolk County? Ive driven on this road at night twice in my life and each time it was like Vin Diesel and the boys were late to a meet
It's 65 until you get East of I-95, then it drops to 55 until the Big Dig (The Tunnels) where it drops to 45 all the way into East Boston and then it stays at 45 to the Eastern Terminus of I-90 near Logan Airport.
@@ryanearles2024 I think the East Boston Expressway/William F McClellan Highway Route 1A is also 45.
Officially 55 (though with an asterisk). The practical speed limit in most circumstances in Massachusetts is at least 80 (I've done 80 and been tailgated by a Statie for not driving fast enough) :)
The asterisk is that technically all Speed Limit XX signs in MA are advisory ("reasonable and safe") rather than per se, except for those along the Turnpike; the "Thickly Settled" signs (which aren't required: you're expected to know the definition for driveway spacing that qualifies as Thickly Settled) also impose an absolute 30 mph speed limit whether or not there's a sign saying Speed Limit 30. Technically this means (except on the Turnpike) that you can be doing 90 in a 55, admit to that fact in court, but have the opportunity to argue a case that it wasn't speeding because it was a reasonable and safe speed under the circumstances (it also means that outside of the Turnpike there's no need to declare a lower speed limit in a snow storm: it's not impossible that 30 in such conditions could be considered speeding).
