    A couple of days ago I went to Chichester to buy a radar for our boat and the person there said that to make a chum bag for pier fishing or fishing in harbours or sheltered areas get a cheap can of cat food get a knife and poke holes through it to attract more fish!

    Can you use the discarded handles of the spoons as lures. They seem to have the shape. Drilled both ends, one for the swivel one for a treble hook would be a cheap addition to the tackle box?

    • @TAFishing
      @TAFishing  3 роки тому

      Yes,Mackerel and Pollock like the handles,about the same length as a Sandeel.

    Thank you. Love your videos. Great looking rigs but wouldnt the rough edge of the spoon hole cut through the line as it spins?

    • @capebarrengoose7686

      Just punch the hole with a hot wire.

    Would that kind of rig work in an estuary from the shore this time of year?

      Worth a try with the teaspoon size,but I use it more for boats.

    How do you store your premade rigs? Mine keep loads of memory when I wrap em around the foam discs I've got.

    • @guineafowl8029
      @guineafowl8029 7 років тому

      Try amnesia line for the memory problem. I store mine on strips of corrugated cardboard from packing boxes - about 4" wide and 6" long then fold in half lengthways. Wrap the rig around it and the fold will try to open, keeping it all in place. These will pack tighter in your tackle box (or pocket!) and won't snag on other stuff as the hooks can be buried in the cardboard.

      Wrap around foam pipe lagging, not my idea, Graeme's, but it works a treat, especially on the kayak when I need to keep things neat.

    Can you do Harbour fishing on carp gear ?

    • @TAFishing
      @TAFishing  6 років тому

      Absolutely.Many of the modern Carp rods will throw a decent weight.And if there is wind or tide use a small grip lead.

    You have the spoons the wrong way round. They are driven by lower pressure on the convex side. Read up on Bernoulli's equation!

    • @richardturner1215
      @richardturner1215 7 років тому

      Cape Barren Goose Agree with you, Never bought a lure with the blades that way round.

    • @capebarrengoose7686
      @capebarrengoose7686 7 років тому

      Thanks. The spoon should operate like an aerofoil. The convex surface causes the water to flow faster over it than over the concave surface. Faster flow means lower pressure (Bernolli's law). The lower pressure on the convex side of the spoon causes it to lift towards a position at right angles to the pivot line. As soon as it starts to spin it should continue to spin in the same direction in a plane normal to the line or pivot point. Just observe a spoon pulled through the water close to the surface. That is what id does.

    • @TAFishing
      @TAFishing  7 років тому +9

      One way it flashes slow.The other way it flashes fast.Or you can fish it inline so it wobbles rather than spins.Was out a week or so ago and had Plaice and Bass on them.Must remember to tell the fish .They don't seem to know they shouldn't be caught on it !

      I am imagining you sat in the dark behind your computer like batman scouring UA-cam looking for people using a spoon the wrong way so you can drop your bernoullis Knowledge on them like a fucking crop duster in the comments just so you can sit in your layer with a smug grin knowing you set the world scientificly straight on how a spoon travels through water you should put your cv in at the fucking typhoo factory you could be running that shit by 2018
