'Clint Eastwood didn't play the badass character, he invented it........'
Amen!
Let me guess, you think the world started when you were born.
@@marioarguello6989 you can even let a man praise another why do you even live
I feel like red dead redemption 2 fills the Clint Eastwood "man with no name" thing really well with Arthur Morgan. Rockstar did a really good job with this in my opinion,
I agree but God after replaying the game a few times they really tried to make him PC it just doesn't fucking work.
For me John Marston is more that type of character than Morgan
I think john in the first red dead is more like eastwoods character
@@husseinmujtaba6457 100% bro couldn’t have got it more spot on
The fact there isn’t any ponchos or navy revolvers in story kills it
Clint’s minimalist acting is perfect for a cowboy. In a way he invented what we perceive a cowboy is now
It's crazy how his subversion of an archetype became the new archetype entirely.
Right
@@entropy7705it really is.
Old Voodoo movies with black magic Kinda gave us the zombie genre
No matter what Clint Eastwood was the definition of badass, any other actor can’t come close to Clint Eastwood, he was the one who made the word badass sound deadly and menacing he was the king!! Joe,manco, and blondie are the best cinematic characters of all time the man with no name will trigger a whole new style!!
Jose whales. Clint was. Excellent. Directing and acting all,at the same time,,,,,,
Joe , manco and blondie are the same person.
Muy uena

Eastwood often wrote his own lines. Eastwood created most of the scenes in the trilogy and came up with the dialog that Director Leone liked and added it to the movie. Clint wrote the best scene with ..... "You see my mule don't like people laughing, get's the crazy idea you're laughing at him"..... the rest is brilliant movie magic history.
Mark Tandle
Indeed dear viewer, Eastwood was brilliant with this role and the films. If it wasn't for his tremendous dedication to this role that was gifted to him, and if the role was played by James Coburn instead, who Sergio Leone always wanted originally and wrote the scripts for the movies for that actor specifically, I don't believe The Dollars Trilogy would have been that significant or memorable. Clint Eastwood elevated this character to unbelievable heights that not even Leone himself could have predicted or hoped. Sergio Leone was a genius filmmaker, but Eastwood put the Dollars Trilogy on the map.
First time in Wikipedia Word :
Anti-Hero
Can you make A Video :
What is An. Anti-Hero
Conte-me outra piada.
Lol, no. Love how these idiots come online with bunches of bullshit acting knowledgeable trying to fool other idiots.
I think the merit goes to Leone, Morricone and Eastwood. They were all great. But you've to know Leone was a pefectionist who directed only few movies. He wrote the basic story than he went to his first grade school friend Ennio Morricone who wrote the music following the ideas and the book of scketches drown by Leone. In some way we had the idea, tthe music and dialogs followed. It was strange but it worked well every time.
3rd grade* Great synopsis and agreed.
I agree. This video gives too much credit to Eastwood
@@rshmnz Nah, Eastwood deserves the credit, the whole look, the physical performance...chopping out all the unnecessary dialogue, the laconic delivery.
@@philmellor4885 I’m not saying Eastwood wasn’t an important factor, but the creation of the character wasn’t Eastwood alone. For one the base was Mifune from Yojimbo, second Leone already had an idea for how the character should be (the iconic poncho wasn’t eastwood’s idea). Eastwood contributed by cutting down dialogue and other details.
Eventually, Leone made 6 movies and became one of the most influential directors ever; Eastwood, with all the movies he’s made 9as actor and director something like 110 movies!), is still remembered for the Dollars trilogy. Imagine poor Clint, every single time he is introduced somewhere, they put the Good the Bad and the Ugly theme on! Not even a track from one of his own movies.
@@rshmnz A collaboration made in the stars. Bet Clint gets hammered with the Dirty Harry Quotes as well.
"Clint Eastwood didn't play a badass.. he invented it" Damn Straight! Nice video👍
17 years of being here and I've never seen a character like him,
Hopefully I can play a character like that someday if I make it there.
uh....
I'm done.
I'm done!!!
They judge too much!
One wrong move and these crazy people can come out of nowhere and cancel you and SHOOT YOU OUT OF THE SKY!!!
They have too much power, too much!
there is no winning!
Actors and actress are being cancelled left and right!
I'm done......
Alright! I'll think it over,
But it's still a crazy reality though.
I hope
Badass men don’t wear leather jackets and sunglasses, they wear ponchos and smoke cigars.
And he’s a pig
I watched these movies in the way they were released and it felt like I was slowly dissecting the man with no name’s character. After all of this I have learned who he is through this line, “You see, in this world there's two kinds of people, my friend: Those with loaded guns and those who dig. You dig” That is who he is, the man with the loaded gun. In other words THE badass.
Yeah..... Never seen a character like him.
Now watch it backwards.
The real anti-hero, the man with no name
I totally agree with this video about Clint. Also I believe when Angel Eyes had Tuco beat up that the man with no name actually was concerned for Tuco. No coincidence he takes care of Angel Eyes in the end.
Clint also superb in Where eagles Dare. But in Dollors Trilogy par excellence but with Sergio Leon Sir and Sergio Corbucci Sir. With timeless immortal music Sir Ennio Morricone.
Would've been interesting if he'd made a film with the other Sergio, that's for sure.
In Eagles he's the stock standard American personification of "I don't know why I am here, all I know is that I must kill"
@@danielblom391 Man, Clint is a killing machine in Eagles, even the nurse takes one in the back.
You can be a badass, but you can't be Clint Eastwood
The video gives all the credit to Eastwood but Sergio Leone had a huge hand in creating the man with no name as well. More credit should have gone to Sergio as well.
Clint Eastwood is my all time favorite, I got all his movies, you're right he is a badass.
my favourite actor as well
Right on Lou. I got his good movies. But as he got older he made some really bad movies I didn't care for to much.
Eastwood is da man. We got also proof of it ;)
The ending 😆😍😍😍😍😍
You dig
“ YOU DIG “
Clint Eastwood does always play himself, whenever with or without hat :)
for a few dollars more is my favourite from the trilogy
I liked Lee Van Cleef as Col Mortimer. They were a couple of Bad Asses.
I actually read a comic book series recently by Dynamite Comics where it follows the Man with No Name. It picks up immediately after he leaves Tuco in the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
Man, I grew up even as a child watching the first one of the Dollars Trilogy and watched it over and over as I grew up. Still watch it today and it's even on Netflix. I agree this Character is the original badass of Cinema and the most popular of all Westerns cause Clint Eastwood will always be known for these movies. That scene in the beginning against those guys who taunted him was so Epic. Talk about Super Confidence.
The most badass badass in the history of bad asses
The first Doom guy, everyone else was just a nerd

Me: My mule don't like people laughin'
King of Badass indeed
Clint Eastwood in the man with no name trilogy is the original anti-hero
Fun fact: He's actually named twice in the three movies. "Blondie" wasn't a name he's known as per se, just a nickname that Wallach's character called him, as he was named previous to Wallach's use of the nickname.
Joe and Manco are nicknames too actually, "Joe" is how people at the mexican boarder called americans in the same way we use "Your regular Joe", "Regular Steve", "Steve Stevenson and Joe Jhonson" (Lifted that from the Filthy frank show lol) or how we called nowdays "Karens" to certain type of woman, Joe was that at that part of the west in the past and only Piripero (a suspicious spanish or italian name) calls him like that; And Manco means "one handed" in spanish is by no means a name, the charachter is called like so as he does everything with the left hand, except for shooting (amazing attention to detail). So though he recives three "names" through the movies, all of them are nicknames, we don´t know how is he called actually, we don´t even know if he actually is from Illinois.
@@antoniocenteno1483 Nah. It's as I said.
@@antoniocenteno1483 All speculation. Take it as it is.
@@bigguy7353 His name in the first two movies weren't names lol. They were nicknames. Why do you think it changes in every movie?
The greatest badass to ever grace the silver screen ⭐️
hell yea, great breakdown
Without the legendary Sergio Leone there would be no Eastwood.
Clint Eastwood the best actor of all time he did a lot of different movies in his lifetime but his westerns stood out for me what an actor and producer he is a legend for sure 😁👍
But, he DID have a name, in
"For a Few Dollars More"....
It's was " Mancko " (Manco?)
And I think the gravedigger or barkeep (or both?) Called Clint Eastwood "Joe" in
"Fistful of Dollars"
Monco is a nickname
In italian means: "without hand".
For the Joe one, it’s a way used in America at time to call people you don’t know.
But he never says his name in the movies which is why he’s called that
Joe, Manco, and Blondie.
Col Mortimer called him "boy".
He is Chaotic Good
Clint Eastwood, there is no substitute
Really enjoyed your analysis of Clint and the Man witrh NO name - a truely iconic character and a Triology we will never see again - where talent meet Visual and Aural perfection !
I still watch every year the 3 trilogy the man with no name my best wetern movies ever and best actor Clint Eastwood
Eastwood continued evolving this character past the Dollars trilogy, and finally after "Pale Rider" [Preacher] kind of alluded that it was The Angel of Death.
This and Django Unchained and the outlaw Josey Wales are my favorite Wild West movies.
Great video. Love the editing!
I’ve watched Clint’s westerns since I was a kid.. every other western I’ve seen I’ve compared to them.
Nobody can even come close. The coolest dude ever. Two Mules for Sister Sarah, one of Clints best films. Another good one was Thunderbolt and Lightfoot. Kellys Heroes is another good one. Clint is the man. The Rock is a joke with his phony over the top movies with flying car's and shit. Rock you can't even come close to the baddest coolest dude of all time Clint Eastwood.
They re made True Grit I wonder why this isnt re visited. I would like to see a new movie with this character directed by Clint Eastwood. With maybe his son playing Blondie.........
That can be possible but Scott Eastwood can’t come close to his father Clint Eastwood, I rather keep this trilogy gold and live up to it name.
incredible topic amazingly and charismatically discussed. This video deserves more love for sure
Well done sir!!!!!!
AMERICA " I BEEN THRU THE DESERT ON A HORSE WITH .... NO NAME
Oh snap, I never considered that! You're saying that it's not "a horse with no name," but instead, "a horse, with no name"?
Having a horse with no name was common but on a horse ... With no name (man) that was uncommon Eli Wallach the ugly and his chronicles of traveling on a horse ... With no name Clint Eastwood the good he had a flesh and blood brother in the priest now he had a friend in no name is a possibility
I can't convey with this one comment how badass Clint Eastwood is , from The Man with no name to inspector Harry Callahan, he is the one who mastered the badass anti hero character in Hollywood and he was ( and still is the ) the first of his kind .
The legend himself
Love this trilogy
Best of the best,no contest!!
To me the original machoman class with ease. Watched a lot of superhero movies but no one can match Clint's character.
The man's with no names gun is a Cimarron .38 special Uberti. This has always been a problem because the .38 special did not come out until 1898 well after the film was set.
Is gun is not cheap or ugly for the time quite the opposite. His gun the Cimarron Uberti is a copy of the colt Texas walker converted to fire ammo instead of ball and powder. With a custom silver rattlesnake engraved handle. Like I said not cheap a very beautiful and for the time powerful and expensive gun.
He is a staple anti-hero. I think one of his most telling actions is freeing the woman in a Fist Full of Dollars and giving her family the money he schemed out of the gangs. His line seems to imply that his mother was in a similar circumstance.
Great man and actor
The coffin-maker in Fistful calls him "Joe." Tuco, in Good/Bad/Ugly, calls him "Blondie."
they are just nicknames, and like someone said, back then,Mexicans mostly called every american 'Joe'
And He's been through the dessert on a horse with No Name......
"You see in youtube there are two types of viewers my friend... those who Like and those who Dislike....i hit Like"
-Manco probably
Agree 💯
Badass from hell \m/
Definition of a sigma male 💪
He is Chugar...the anti hero of the movie "no place for old man"... The spirit of Mexico!
Clint is the badass.
He wasn’t out for himself at the cost of everyone’s else unless they had it coming to them.
This same style is what helps make John Wick so cool.
His name was Manko
The parallel of Samurai and Cowboys is such as strange dynamic thanks to Leone and Eastwood. I’d argue anime like Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo wouldn’t exist without the Dollar Trilogies influence which in turn was influenced by Samurai films. So it’s strange that Japan inspired Italy which inturn inspired Japan.
bruce lee and clint eastwood are the two most badass men in the world
The man with no name.... Classic Sigma male .
THE original American Badass. Suck it, Kid Rock!
Clint Eastwood doesn’t smoke and is allergic to horses
He's still better and badass than Arthur Morgan and John Marston combined
Well Arthur isn’t even close to a bad ass to me
"Let us make a name for ourselves."
That was the work of the great hunter, Nimrod, who forced men into civilization.
The fascist symbol of a bundle of sticks with an axe in the center is a major symbol of how civilization emasculates men for their participation.
Only the ruler carries out executions.
A man without a name is outside the power of the state, and he keeps the right to enforce the law for himself.
But he lives the life of a drifter.
His name is Monko.
Great video - really enjoyed this.
Nice
Beautifully done. Forgive me for being dense, why the G.O.A.T. on the thumbnail?
Saying fist full of dollars was inspired by yojimbo is putting it lightly. Its straight up yojimbo with guns, and that's a good thing. Two versions of the same great film.
His name was Marco……meaning one handed!
A man with no name trilogy may lead a major impact :
The First time of the Word. Anti-Hero
He never apeared dirty.....
Your definition of Eastwood 's character is awful...."he carrys a used revolver"...LMFAO
@@jamesholt6032 you haven't seen any of the movies
Eastwood is da man.
Who did you like more, tuco or angle eyes? And he had a name, blonde!
I agree with everything you said except for the fact that Star Wars isn’t character driven. It’s literally about Anakin’s rise to the Jedi counsel and his fall to the dark side and then his redeeming arc of killing palpatine and returning to the light side.
Was it EASTWOOD or LEONE that came up with this ideas?
It was both men that made these great films what they were
Leone has a great artist vision in mind and knew what he wanted and how to direct his films
Clint eastood help in other aspects
For instance at the time of a fistful of dollars, it wasnt allowed for someone to be visibly been seen getting shot. Which is why in old films whenever someone shoots another person it'll show the clip of the gun firing and then cut to the person reacting.
When making a fistful of dollars because this was a Hollywood rule Leone had no idea of this, Clint however did coming from Hollywood but he chose to not say anything to him.
It's little things like this that showed both men had a great influence on the 3 films in very postive way.
Without Sergio Leones master of directing and camera shots the films wouldn't be nearly as influence as they are
And without Clint eastwood the films wouldn't be as iconic as they are.
And Ennio Morricones amazing soundtracks for the films had a great influence on its pop culture revelance and made them even more iconic and memorable.
You don't think of western and not think of Clint eastwoods man with no name and the good the bad and the uglys soundtrack by Ennio Morricones.
To me the dollar series was a perfect mixture of great artists defining a large genre and forever putting itself as not just great western but as amazing films.
Truly a great case of lighting caught in a bottle not just once but 3 times. There'll never be another series like it again.
Blondie is the king of wild west...
Whats the intro music?
I saw him as Josey Wales
This video is 1 million views short.
Not for long
Vamos duplar em português.
What instrument do they use to make that sound at 3:51
No clip from Pale Rider
TMWNN was certainly badass.
But in the history of cinematic Westerns there is only one true badass.
Josey Wales.
A relentless, uncompromising, unforgiving, Angel of Death.
Josey Wales, THE Badass!!!!
His mame is Manco.
His name is Manko
THE MAN WITH NO NAME, HUH!???
In A Fistful of Dollars, he is called "Joe" by the undertaker, Piripero, and Eastwood's role is credited as "Joe".
In For a Few Dollars More, he is called "Manco" (Spanish for "one-armed"; in fact, in the original Italian-language version he is called "il Monco", a dialectal expression meaning "the One-armed one") because he does everything left-handed, except for shooting.
SO... JOE MANCO IT IS!!!
Conservative overtones throughout the narration, other than that, good video.
Where?
Typhoon
George Washington
I just discovered these kinds of movies recently. Makes me regret wasting most of my life on the pop culture trash of the modern era.
1.
Eastwood did not want his character to be lean. He was, and still is, lean. Such was method acting in 64.
2.
They put the snake ornament on the grips of his Peacemaker because they had the DONT TREAD ON ME SYMBOLS of today in their minds. Yes, they could foresee things.
3.
Also, and not covered by You : The MWNN was a projection screen for every single lonely young guy all over the world: Let them fight and die and do their thing, I´ll come out on top anyway, somehow ...
Veryoneisgoodlove them 10:36 10:38 +
It was LEONE, that Created the Character, Not Eastwood. SERGIO LEONE is the BADDDDD ASS!
No it was Akira Kurosawa when he made "Yojimbo" years before that Leone blatantly ripped off. Even Clint Eastwood has talked about Kurosawa's influence on "westerns" of the time
Pablo113:I would say that it was a COLLABORATIVE effort between them
Leone created the CONCEPT, but Eastwood created the CHARACTER
We have an example of this in the ORIGINAL Conan the Barbarian, and its remake
Although I disagree with the casting of Arnold Schwarzzeneger as Conan(Howard did NOT describe Conan as having the bulging muscles of a bodybuilder), he certainly helped to bring the character to life. Jason Momoa, on the other hand, just didn't seem to convince me that he fit the bill as the Cimmerian
@@mikegrossberg8624 Eastwood wasn't Leone's 1st choice. The movie is so good, they could have cast anyone in the role. Eastwood was a perfect choice though. He was Spoonfed, the Role.
