10:22 Just curious, would this DAC be worthwhile in a use-case of CD transport out of my 7 disc CD player via optical out (Coax) to Coax in to this DAC? Essentially by-passing the internal DAC of my model year 2000 JVC XV-FA90 7 Disc DVD/CD player to use this much newer external DAC. I'm on a $150 or less budget and really like the price and other features you get with this one. Thank you for your review too, subscribed!
Thank you for the review! I wish to use this device as a transmitter. I want to drive an analog source (vinyl) through the second zone of my AV receiver to a Bluetooth speaker. This will enable me to simultaneously play the vinyl to the wired zone one and the Bluetooth zone two. Is this possible? I currently have it set up as such: AVR zone 2 RCA > ADC > optical out > BTA30Pro. I think I’ve got it working but it needs an amplifier
Hi, not too many comments or explanations about TX function , while seems so difficult to achieve it, even the USB connection I can use it only in RX mode. Finally, does this little toy has or has not a TX function and if yes how to activate it ?
I would like to connect my lg g8x Android phone via usb c port and get digital out via optical/coaxial to my Logitech z906 home theatre system. Does this device work for that ?!... Your reply is much helpful for me
Hello Ryan can the aptx hd low latency mode be used with any iem? I am a pc gamer looking to move away from a wired headset. Which iem would you suggest for competitive shooters like csgo, super people, pubg. Thank you
the aptx hd low latency is a bluetooth codec and i assume you would need a wireless iem that is compatible with that codec. The best ones I have tried so far with good imaging is the moondrop aria and beat byrd which are wired iems
i connected with optical and rca to my yamaha receiver, and tried to listen to music with my bluetooth headphones, the headphones are connected but i cant hear any music, i tried optical and bypass mode but nothing works, the optical is plugged to out, i tried both ways but no luck
Thanks for the nice review but pls tell me how does it play music through usb drive....as far as i can see it has single usb C at back and that is for powering up the unit ??
I can answer myself, it works. However there is a flaw in this product which caused me to return it - any music/sound at low volume disappears with some sort of low volume filter. It is NOT possible to disable this. For example background audio in movies just disappears. This is the second time I've been burned by Fiio, their products are not dependable.
Why would I do that? I'd use this as a transceiver because I can connect my PC through BT and transmit using AptX-HD which is supported by my speakers and headphones.
Hello, if I want to connect the Android phone or an Android DAP to use it in DAC mode, what cable do I use if the charging and data are on the same port?
Just a question, I use my Macbook Pro to listen my Spotify songs connected on my vintage hifi stereo gear, is there any way to stream music to and get the same or better quality?
Hello ! I've the BTA30pro everything works fine but when im press the LL/HD button thats doesnt change the codec (In TX mode), it only activates pairing, any ideas ?
@@ryanhostudio actually, it's even better than I thought It has the optical/coaxial out that the topping D10 has. Your use case of connecting it to a D90 doesn't make sense. iPhone AAC > BTA30 LDAC > D90 LDAC. I hope thats for testing purposes only. The purpose of BTA30 is to add bluetooth functionality to DAC/amp/powered speakers that don't have BT, so in order to pair it with D90 (let's assume D90 doesn't have BT) you should use the digital out function of BTA30 (Opt/Coax) and feed it to D90. You should use a DAC without BT functionality to demonstrate that better. Anyway, BTA30 is a great little device, very versatile. Great video.

@@ryanhostudio Agreed to all but one: there is no benefit of upscaling AAC to LDAC because your source is still limited to 264kbps and you risk latency and package loss.
@@ryanhostudio that would be the scenario of having the phone at a far away position from D90 dac. That would not be a neat setup but yes, it is a possible scenario. Thank you for clarifying!

It sure can. Use the RCA outputs just like anything else you connect to your reciecer. I am currently using Amazon HD from my Android at the highest codec LDAC. Sounds great!
Next, Im going to pickup a Wiim Pro Streamer (when it comes out) to stream at even higher bit rates using WiFi instead of Bluetooth. The Fiio BTA30 Pro Dac Mode will work great for that as it has a better Dac than Wiim. All still through a vintage reciever. Newskool meets Oldskool. Best of both wolds. 🤘

Great video. Thinking of getting this to transmit from my turntable & amp to my Qudelix 5k, which I use with my Katos or Sundaras. Will that work?
