We’re in full swing with fun Christmas crafts and this one is a fabulous one!! It’s a DIY Christmas Angel made with Deco Mesh and other Dollar Tree items. Christmas décor is always fun but especially when you can make a beautiful Christmas statement piece for only $5! Does it get any better than that??!! No one will believe that this is a Dollar Tree DIY when they see it and you’ll be the envy of your crafting friends. So, what are you waiting for? Let’s get started!!

1 Dollar Tree White Mesh Garbage Can
Mesh Tubing used for wreaths (small piece)
2 Rolls White Deco Mesh
1 Pack Lights with Stars (plain will work too)
Small Snowflake Ornaments (as embellishments)
1 Plastic or Glass Ball Ornament
Ribbon (wide for wings and thin for tying things together)
Wire Cutters or Garden Shears
Needle Nose Plyers
Gloves (optional)
Scissors

As a wreath maker, I definitely suggest using a rotary cutter for the mesh. It cuts through the mesh really well and usually limits the amount of fraying that the mesh does.
Also, another way to dress this angel up would be to use a different color mesh on one of the layers of the dress. And another way to attach the mesh would be using chanel stems (pipe cleaners) pushed through the holes at the top of the dress.

I'm back... so glad I bought one of the white wire waste baskets after I saw this before since DT has made them smaller. Of course I could make a smaller one but it's still disappointing and now they have raised their prices...Now they are the Dollar-and-a-Quarter Tree. 😞 Anyway, I have been unable to make this yet but I will once I am settled. Elaine, I absolutely love all your tutorials. I'm a huge DIYer, especially after the midnight hour ! For all my gazillion hours of watching many different types of tutorials, from cooking, sewing little girl clothes, etc., I've successfully deployed so many hacks that it's hard to keep track of them all. I try not to use any hacks that involve power tools after midnight, except when I know my family has entered their deep rem sleep, so noise wouldn't bother them. Sista, this is my very first time sending words to anyone's channel. You had me hooked when I saw your name contained 'Midnight Crafter'. Now I can't decide whether to make your clothing hanger angel or the beautiful mesh angel(although on a larger scale), to add to my outdoor Xmas decorations. Fantastic tutorials with amazingly clear instructions, simple and quick. You go girl !! Denise Elaine(me) is also a fellow 'midnight crafter' and definitely a top fan to your channel. I salute you!

Hi Elaine, the angel is just so beautiful. It was a fantastic tutorial, if you ever make this angel again, you could wrap a thick elastic band around the neck, then you just tuck the netting under the band then it will stay in place while the glue at the top sets. At the end when all the layers are set you can just cut the band off. Also I noticed you put the mesh on with the curl facing away from the metal, if you placed it the other way round the mess would have hugged under the bottom of the wire, giving you a lot more control. At the end simply lift the curl up to the front of the wire and the dress will naturally balloon outward. Hope you don’t mind me trying to make your job a little easier. You can just ignore what I say, I honestly don’t mind. Xxxx

You could probably use some white tulle to cover the trash can instead of the mesh...might be easier to handle and then use the mesh ribbon to decorate it. Your angel is beautiful 😍
I actually bought tulle to do that and ended really liking the way the mesh curled up. I also wanted to try and keep it Dollar Tree as much as possible. Who knows, I might make another one for myself with the tulle!!

You can put both rows of mesh together and cut them all at the same time you need a heavy object to hold your curls down like maybe a rock or even your wire cutters or something like that it just anything that's got a little bit of weight that will keep that curl down so you can easier I love the way this turned out it's beautiful

Thank you for the beautiful angel tutorial. This will be my tree topper this year. I am going to use the dove wings but glue some white feathers on them. I have seen the feathers at craft stores. I think I may use gold accessories to add a little color. Love your angel. ❤️
