It fits your hand like a baseball. It's built to last in the US of A proudly. Best when used closely to the mouth. Thank you and have a lovely day. ✌️👍
I've had two of the Road Devil mics for about thirty plus years. Keep a fresh battery in them and use a little "Air in a Can" to blow the dust out and One is good to go. Quality all around. Astatic is good equipment.
The problem with power mics, is they usually cause distortion and reduce the ability punch through the noise. Back in the 1970s when I used to service CBs, I would adjust the modulation to 98% with the mic turned full up, so it didn't cause distortion on the customers radio. The Road Devil didn't sell well to most of my customers, due to the devil motif but the regular power mic did alright! Another thing to note was that rubber bar on the face of the mic was supposed to touch the lip when talking, as it is a noise cancelling mic, and it lost modulation quickly the further from the mouth it was used.
The road devil, I have one, most of them have a horrible static. When you press the button I had to fix that, also, the button was very rattling. I fix that also with a rubber washer, and number three, the mic was designed to keep close up to your mouth it’s a noise canceling microphone also, oh, I forgot number for that black stuff around the seam with a microphone is joined together that’s because they spray the inside of the microphone with a sound deadening spray
I heard about the scratchy sound the PTT switch made before I purchased the mic so, I put a drop of machine oil inside where the contacts are. Did this first thing when I bought it since I had to disassemble it to install the battery. Also, I trimmed the level adjustment lever to be almost flush with the mic as I didn’t like the protrusion sticking my fingers. There’s enough of the lever protruding out, now, that I can still make an adjustment if needed. I didn’t care for the rattle the PTT lever made so I cut, and trimmed, a piece of double stick tape and stuck it to the PC board. This is enough to fill the void, that causes the lever to rattle, yet will still allow the lever to properly actuate the PTT switch. Just my $.02

I’m thinking about getting this mic for my 955! Just haven’t decided yet. Using a 636 now and it sounds good but I need a little more.
