Great demo! Well done! Good to see you still still riding. 👏🏾 Thank you for your service & sacrifice to our country brother. . Army vet here. 🇺🇲 Be careful out there on the road. GOD bless you!
Thank you for your service and for doing this demo. I love riding but being dependent on someone else has caused issues. I’m ready to do this on my own !
Amazing sir. My wife is in a chair and has always wanted to be a passenger on a bike. When she see's couples she always comments "that looks like fun". This is a God send for us because at 63 I am not looking for two wheels anyway. Thank you and God bless.
Your UA-cam video just happened to pop up tonight. We have a 2015 RT Limited. In March 2019 I contracted Guillain-Barre Syndrome and lost mobility from my waist down. I’m anxious to start riding again and your video proved it is possible. I’m so proud you are able to ride and enjoy wind therapy. I see you are former military and I want to thank you for your service. Are you familiar with the Road Warrior Foundation? RWF is a great organization and provides opportunities for military veterans to experience adventure therapy on a Spyder. Our local Spyder Owners and Riders group out of Johnson Creek, Wisconsin is a major contributor to RWF. Enjoy and happy riding.
Hey Janice! I know this is a old comment but I wanted to ask if you are still riding? I broke my back 2 years ago and I'd really like to get one of these someday. I'm a t6 complete I think with the right backrest id really love one of these. I just wondered how your experience has been.
@@Complete.cyclepath I’m Jim and the guy with GBS and reduced mobility in my lower extremities. I’m still able to ride but not the insane miles I used to travel. It’s a minor challenge to mount the RT so you may want to consider the F3 model as the seat is a little lower. Our backrest is comfortable and adjustable and provides good lateral support. Opt for a seat with more support. The RTL has great stability and is very easy to steer, accelerate, shift, and stop. The single foot brake pedal could be converted to a hand brake, if necessary. The greatest asset of the CanAm Spyder is its stability. I suggest you stop at a reputable dealer and check them. Make sure you test drive.
@@janicelucht8005 thanks for the reply! Unfortunately I can only afford to dream right now but one of these needs to wind up in my garage someday soon! Lord willing! Congrats on your machine and may it give you endless enjoyment and gratitude!
Yeah I really miss riding ,the doctors have screwed up my spine !ive had to have most of the vertebrae removed also, causing my spine to fall over on its self..man I miss that 203 mph rush on my 220hp crotch rocket, lol....well that was 16yrs ago, since then I had to go back to car racing although I can’t do that any longer , life just doesn’t seem like worth much anymore..I really hope you stay safe..
I love it brother, there’s nothing like a good ride to clear the mind looks like it’s been a few years since you posted this I hope you’re still riding.. ride hard and long see you on the road
Nice I gotta find someone to let me ride one of these! I also need to find a good job and start stacking paper so I can get one of these myself. Lord willing. The fire is burning now!
Man I’ve dived out of planes !ive driven 200 mph ive train Ed really good performing service dogs, but you’ve got more balls than me bro, I couldn’t dream of getting on and off than bike without locking my wheels on my chair!id be scared to death, lol..yep I’m even a DVET ,and I’d rather see combat than transfer with my wheels unlocked I’d hit the ground every time..but I’m also crippled from just below the neck! Lol..proud of ya..
hey bro this is very cool butt i am a poor person with disability i cant afford this but i am happy that u do some work for disable people keep it up GOD with you
I own a F3S semi Auto. I don't understand why you have to take out the back rest and drag your right leg over first before getting on your chair. On my F3 I just pull myself off onto my chair and then get my right leg and put it on the foot plate and left leg the same.
I bought a nice used 2016 F3T last year that has a front hand brake that was added by the previous owner. I dont use it and would gladly remove it and send it to anyone that genuinely NEEDs it. Im not positive, but I think it will adapt to pretty much any Spyder F3, RT etc. Im not sure what shipping would cost but Im fledxible. Just reply here and Ill check back form time to time. If this will help someone to satisfy the riding bug , Im glad to do it
In 2014, it cost $1500 to get the handbrake added. By the time you pay parts and labor to get added now, I expect $2000. see link here for company that sells the brake kit. isciride.com/products/hand-brake-system/
I tow a trailer and keep chair in the trailer. Only issue is that you need an Able Body with you to get it. I chose to do that rather than mounting the chair somehow.
There are a few companies out there who can put the brake on. Kind of hard to do so you will likely need a shop to do it. The Spyder has one foot brake that controls all three wheels. The hand brake is tied into the foot brake and when I squeeze the hand brake, the foot pedal goes down. Here is the company who put my handbrake on. www.industrialspecialty.com/isci%20-%20spyder%20parts.htm#handbrakesystem
Hello Faan, I am T6. As a T4, you have close to same. I do find that I must be holding onto handlebars, both hands, to hold my balance and I cannot take turns as fast as an AB.
Faan Fischer I am also a T4 and you can do it! The key is to have the backrest. Without it you would be miserable after only a few minutes of being hunched over or your arms would get too tired from supporting your entire upper body weight.
Hey John! I have a few questions concerning your can-am can you email me? I'm a paraplegic in search of a few answers before I purchase my very first can-am!

John How do you get the chair in the trailer - is there any way you can do it yourself , or do you have to have help?

hi john, i'm paraplegic and i'd like to know how did you modify the brakes?

@@neemafastcat thank a lot for the reply. I'll try driving test first and see how I could cope with it. I also don't have a core support by the way.
