An item I always carry is a head lamp for the walk out of the pond in the dark. Always carrying a lot of stuff and the head lamp frees the hands up and a packable rain suit is a must.
You always need a head lamp. Rain suit?...I thought you were just a fair weather fisherman 😂
Sounds complicated to me. I use an old Laverdiers special with a plueger reel, line older than you are (40), and what ever leader line I can lay my hands on. I like to run the Micky Fin, a may fly, grey ghost, and a few others....got a box with 100s of flies my grandfather had that I recently inherited....I got his rod with a busted tip, a Fenwick with the Aluminum Tube, flies many were used on the Mirimachi River and Aroostook River where we, mostly him, caught many Atlantic Salmon and Brookies. I shall share some of them with you some day :)
Haha, it’s only as complicated as you make it 😉. Fenwick made some good rods back in the day...that tip might be reparable? I always liked Pflueger reels they play a sinking line superbly.
Thanks for the video. Interesting and informative. Keep it up !
Thanks! Glad you found it interesting!
Hmm. It's about time to pull out my fly fishing gear. I'll have to check out my streamer wallets. I got a couple from a yard sale a couple years back that look just like the one you have. I don't recall if they are from LL Bean but it wouldn't surprise me since I'm also in Maine.
Nice! I'm definitely starting to get the spring fishing feeling too...I better start going through my gear also. Might be an earlier spring than normal!
@@MaineOutdoorEnthusiast Yeah for sure. I’m juggling ice fishing and getting ready for ice out. Then im getting the itch for deer season.
Fun stuff 😁@@HometownWoodsman
Maine Fly Company 🙂
Good call! I plan on checking them out the next time I’m in the area.
Cómo pueden asiciar matar un ciervo con el fly fishing. Que asco. Les deseo lo peor.
I'm not sure of the connection to deer hunting and fishing you're trying to make...but it's definitely not gross. I wish you the best.
