Baby Boomers, remember when we saw the first music video on MTV? The Buggles!

I know, a little different but the bass line on this song is really powerful and a ton of fun to try and play. The track was released in 1979 but we all saw it from our dorm rooms as it was the first music video shown on MTV in the US, airing at 12:01 a.m. on 1 August 1981. For you post-boomers, we didn't have TV sound through our stereo's back then so MTV was simulcast through FM radio stations. Things changed quickly from there... The song has been described as "musically complicated" due to its use of suspended and minor ninth chords for enhancement that gave the song a "slightly different feel." It ranked number 40 on VH1's "100 Greatest One-Hit Wonders of the '80s" and will always be the "first" music video.
