THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
I created a "music rules" song that is actually really fun for the kids to sing with actions. I have enjoyed doing "I'm A Happy Apple tree, all the apples fall off me, apple cider, apple pie, how many apples should I buy?" Then we hop and count to how many a student thinks we should buy. The lyrics don't make much sense - but I just started teaching preschool out of a need so I am still learning. Def. will be looking more at your channel!
My Preschool/Childcare kids (ages 1-5) LOVE to sing and dance along to "Happy" by Pharrell and the kids LOVE the Pöpcørn song with The Swedish Chef by The Muppets. (If you haven't seen the video on UA-cam, it's adorable and hilarious!) I minored in Children's Music, so we sing, dance, and play with instruments all the time. I love that you are sharing the instruments you use -- it just makes singing and moving so much more fun for the kids. We sing for all our transitions -- good morning, clean up, sit down, etc. I print out the lyrics to songs, laminate them, and store them in the box for that theme -- that way when I'm planning, I pull out the box and the songs are right there! I put them in the binder just for that time then put them away when I'm done with that theme. I used to create playlists on UA-cam, but they don't let you do that anymore with kids' songs, so I save them to pinterest and use them from there. (I might try your Spotify idea!!)
Denine Hicks That’s a great idea to laminate the lyrics and store with theme materials!
Fantastic videos, really helping me updating myself about ECD activities and as a regional early childhood coordinator in GHANA, my work is well improving. Quality early childhood education help eliminate violence behaviors, malnutrition and ill-health among children. Will like to get in contact with you more. THANK YOU!!!
thank you! they are wonderful advices!
Yes, I have to admit, when I first started teaching we only had records (or vinyls as some call them) along with the huge record players. How I loved it when CD's came out! They were so much easier to use!! Now, Spotify is a great choice. Thanks for the idea.
Yep! I had a record player in my classroom for awhile! This was after cassettes had come out, and even CDs were available, but I still had a lot of children’s vinyl albums so the record player came in handy. I’ve since moved on! 😁
Thank you! This video has been very helpful as a grandparent who isn’t very tech savvy, I super appreciate your kindness, expertise, & passion🤗🤗🤗
I'm so happy it's been helpful for you, Sonia!
I love the let's star jump song. It's so good and fun learning experience with children 🥰👍
I need to check that out!
Claves or rhythm sticks are my fav too! Over the years, I created a massive box full of non-pitched and pitched instruments. It is so good to see your collection! Thank you!
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching!
The 2 y/o I nanny has been loving We Are the Dinosaurs & The Penguin Dance!! :)
thesandrapagethings - My 2 year olds love those songs, too!
Some of our favourites this year are slippery fish, Wombat Wobble, Inanay, stretchy Lycra, wobble wobble and jump jump star. You might have to look some of these up as they are Australian 😀
I will definitely look them up. Thank you!
I came across your video and I was so thankful that I found your video and got a chance to see it. You gave great ideas on how to add simple instruments in classrooms. Thank you so much.
You are so welcome!
I teach 3-4-year-olds. My kiddos LOVE “We Are the Dinosaurs” by the Laurie Berkner Band. They ask to sing it almost every day. They also love “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt” and its variations.
I recently started doing a song with them I learned at the Transform Challenging Behavior online conference called “Woah, Jack!” by Jocelyn Manzanarez. They love it and it helps them transition to sitting on the floor criss-cross-applesauce.
Oh yes, we love "We are the Dinosaurs", also! I need to look into that conference. Thank you!
I am learning a lot from your videos! Thank you so much. I am just starting to teach 2-3 year olds here in Japan.
So happy they are helpful! Will be sharing more soon!
@@Teaching2and3YearOlds You are my favorite ❤️ Thank you.
@@thriftywife6765 YOU are so sweet. I appreciate your kind words! ❤️
Thank you so much!
Thanks and here’s a song for you. A cherry for you and a cherry for me, ripe crimson cherries hang up on the trees, they grow in the sun and they grow in the rain, Cherries with merry time, come back again// 🍒
Fave songs: all the sleeping bunnies, baby shark & wheels on the bus :)
U r excellent teacher

Thank you for sharing your class’ favorites. I, too, love hearing everyone’s suggestions. So many good songs out there!
My kids are currently loving Greg and Steve.
I need to add more of their songs to my Spotify playlists!
our favorite songs for music and movement is rolling home, tooty ta and shake your hands. I would like to know the songs on your list.
Hi Shabina - It will take me awhile to put together lyrics to all of the songs, but I've started with fall: teaching2and3yearolds.com/preschool-fall-songs-for-circle-time/
Yay! I’d love to see them all too.
Thanks for sharing your experiences, my goal is childcare education.
You are so welcome, Darlene. Thank you for watching!
We love ‘hop little bunny hop hop hop, I’ve got the rhythm in my head, head shoulders, 1 lil finger etc.
Can u please make a list of songs in your binder as few pls.
I just put together a collection of fall lyrics here: teaching2and3yearolds.com/preschool-fall-songs-for-circle-time/ and will let everyone know as I complete each season/holiday.
Thanks for giving us some starter ideas. Always looking for new songs to add to my collection too
@@ronniepearce4438 - You are so welcome!
I am a new teacher and hope you could make a video on how to tackle online lessons. since it is quarantine time, I am having difficulties on how to teach a big group on an online session.
We love a tooty ta (I'm blame it on the 2 year olds, but i actually like it as much as the 2 year olds!), wheels on the bus (i let the kiddos choose the verses, we create our own). I use one little finger as a transition song (ending the song with put your finger on your nose, Beep beep, Shhhh.) into prayer time right before our meals. Makes for a great transition song.
Oh yes....Tooty Ta! All of my students have loved that song!
I learned a Caribbean version of an itsy bitsy spider. By changing the inflections and the clap-along, it adds a new twist to an old favorite.
I'd love to hear it!
@@Teaching2and3YearOlds I will try and record myself soon.
Wow look good ur music book
Hello from Brazil! My songs are in Portuguese so you will probably not know them. I love your videos!
23belle - Thank you!
My favorite song using the rhythm sticks is Hap Palmer's song, Tap Your Sticks.
My favorite fingerplay is Five Little Monkeys Sitting In A Tree.
The Goldfish song by Laurie Berkner is one of our favorite movement songs.
Annette Tuck - Hap Palmer’s Tao Your Sticks is the best!
I work with 16 months to 31 months old Toddlers_ We like Slippery Fish, If You are a Monster and You know it plus we change that tune around and change words too.
I need to check those out!
Hello! I love your videos, do you think is possible for you to share your Spotify playlist, please
Thank you, Jennifer! You can find all of my Spotify playlists here: teaching2and3yearolds.com/toddler-and-preschool-songs/
I just started teaching 2 year olds and I could really use a binder like yours because unfortunately my class has been through alot and have no structure at all due to teachers always quitting on them. Do you happen to sell the binders?
I don't. But if you go to teaching2and3yearolds.com and look for "music" there are posts with different ideas.
Some of our favorite songs to sing are: Fire truck, I'm a little caterpillar, and wheels in the bus....
Thank you! There are so many good songs out there!
Teaching 2 and 3 Year Olds yes there are..... 😀❤️
Where did you get all the songs that are in your song notebook? I am looking for new ones and new ways to excite my littles with the love of music and movement? Thank you for your help...... 😊
All over the place, to be honest. It's many, many years worth of lyrics that I found in a variety of places. I am in the process of putting together a blog post with some resources, although they won't all be what's in my binder because a lot of it isn't available anymore. I will let you all know when that blog post is available.
I just published a post with lyrics for fall: teaching2and3yearolds.com/preschool-fall-songs-for-circle-time/
Teaching 2 and 3 Year Olds thank you..... I will keep my eyes open for it - can't wait...... 👏👏👏😊
Teaching 2 and 3 Year Olds thank you solo much for this - soooo very helpful....... 😊
I just discovered "Bjornen Sover" over on Mama Lisa a few months ago. The words are Swedish, but I made a singable translation (the direct translation doesn't *quite* work)--it's a circle game with one child in the middle and on the last word, that child jumps up and tags another "It" for the next round.
ua-cam.com/video/4zxUuu6LgCE/v-deo.html
My words are
Bear is sleeping, bear is sleeping
In his bed of snow
If we only spy him
We can slip right by him
Tiptoe softly, tiptoe softly
But you never KNOW!
I want to learn music
I Know a Chicken, by Laurie Berkner Band is my favorite
the one I love to play for my kids is freeze dance. I play this when it is time for them to clean up.
We love freeze dance songs but I never thought to play it at clean up. Great idea!
So you keep the while class set out at all times of musical instruments?
amandaandfamm - They are not out at all times. I have them in a cabinet and take them out when we are about to join for group time, or when I feel the children have an extra dose of energy and need to get those wiggles out with some music and movement. It just sort of depends on the morning.
Where is the link I can't find it
It’s in the video’s description. Here you go:

Hi! Where did you get the ribbon jingle bells?
They were in the classroom when I arrived. I had hoped they'd be on Amazon, but I can't find them. I will continue to search other places.
@@Teaching2and3YearOlds Thanks! I also have been trying to find them. If I do I will let you know.
I found them. Lakeshore Learning has them - www.lakeshorelearning.com/products/music/musical-instruments/shake-move-ribbon-bells-setof6/p/HH710.
