Lucky for my family, my mom was a prolific Tupperware sales lady and later a manager for over 40 years. We had a HUGE collection as I inherited all her stuff and even after giving alot to other family members, I'm still stocked for the rest of my life!

To be fair, Tupperware is not as bad as other MLMs. Their retailers actually make money from selling the product, not from recruiting more people (20%-24% commission where I live).
I have been to a few Tupperware parties but I never bought anything because I didn’t have a household at the time. My mom had some of it. It is overpriced because under the MLM structure the up lines all get a portion of the sales as part of their bonuses. I am happy to see it go unless they changed the way to sell to customers (not a MLM).
My aunt sold Tupperware and she was a machine, even got a minivan from corporate and did it right here in the poorest State West Virginia, my side of the family used Cool Whip and Country Crock containers.

I was even gifted TW by my parents last Christmas, believe it or not. As I had actually asked for it (or something similar). You see a glimpse of the model at 4:00, round and with a big yellow lid. I now have one, containing all the memories of the snacks my grandmother would bring over in one of those through my childhood. But that's the thing... No company can post their earnings and pay their employees based on the memories of millennials.
It will be sad if TW go under - our microwave rice cooker strap broke (it is quite old) and my wife mentioned that she will give it back to a lady that sells TW since they replace it. Good quality products.
There are thousands of companies making cheap replicas but they are not the same quality. The cheap knock offs end up in landfill, tupperwear lasts decades. People are buying the cheap ones, no one wants things that last these days, everything is disposable and chucked into landfill without a thought.

i am sorry about the fact that plastic containers for food storage at home is not desirable anymore to me. tomato sauce stains the plastics. oils are very difficult to clean from plastic. plastic is an oil-based product, therefore it is essentially trying to bond back to itself. glass "corning or pyrex or anchor" would be my primary choice for cold storage directly to microwave, in same container without fear of melting plastic into my food. that is what is causing medical issues. this plastic undergoing microwaves and emitting toxic gases into our foods.... no thanks

Why is this a news, we had a snippet of this in my national TV evening news show. And now I see DW making a video about it. Who cares, its plastic, even if this particular brand lasted better than most. It doesn't last as well as glass jars, or earthen, and no-one made a cult about the latter.

I thought tupperware was all things plastic like earthware or glassware never think about it as a company... I don't think they even had representatives in my country, maybe that's why
I always hated plastic, (guess i can call it plasticware?) sure they are light and they don't brake, but the more you clean them the more they look nasty.
