Once a week, when I was younger, my Dad and I would fire up a movie to watch together. My Dad didn’t really care for the movie, but we had this kick ass sound system that the houses next door could hear. The only reason he wanted to play a movie was so he could turn the volume on the stereo to max when the THX theme came on. It was like we were struck by a earthquake, and the living room was the epicenter. The glassware would vibrate, the walls would shake and every animal in the neighborhood would howl into the night. It was a rapturous feeling, as if the Horn of Gabriel was being blasted in my living room. It was my father’s best moment during the week, a time when my father could feel like he was actually heard in his otherwise dull life. Unfortunately, my Dad became obsessed with the THX sound, and tried to make its gloriousness even louder through additional speakers. His obsession became his downfall, when the stereo finally managed to break a glass of water on the entertainment system, and ultimately ruined his favorite moment of the week. My mother made a it house rule that we never spend so much time and money in a sound system again.
As I am now older, I realize how genuinely incredible this sound is at showing what THX did/does. The sound quality and complex chord makes it powerful and shows off the sound that the movies they work on.

You may have seen it before on some VHS and DVD rereleases of Disney movies like the Little Mermaid for example in 1998. I also believe this opened up other Lucasfilm movies as well since it was George Lucas's sound company for a long time before he sold it over. I think there were some other movies that used this company as well because it was a very popular and revolutionary sound company that helped make the home theater surround sound systems much more popular. This company utilize all forms of sound technology to get the most out of home theater speakers.
Each time I wanted to see a Disney movie this shit went out in the Intro. Sometimes I had to run out of my fucking bedroom and hide in a corner of the house, or just put a pillow in my head LOL. This was very popular in the mid 00s lol

The worst thing is when you would put on a movie but the volume was super loud so you would be desperately looking for the remote and spamming the button while your ears are being raped and the neighbors are calling the police.
