I'm enjoying following your adventure. It would seem to this very old soldier that a hammock would work better in the swamps. That is what we had in the Army 50 years ago. River Country Products has a $30 hammock set that seems pretty good. I bought a bunch of their ponchos and am very pleased with them. My old Army gear has mostly disintegrated or disappeared. Watch out for the snakes, especially at night. They like to crawl into tents and packs. Consider carrying some candles. They can help with drying clothes and gear. Good Luck, Rick
So so challenging...I’m not sure I’d be up for it...but those cypress swamp sections are just stunning in a backwoods liable to disappear off the face of the earth without a trace sort of way. Very thankful you’re sharing your journey w us, otherwise I doubt I’d ever have the privilege of seeing. You’re doing an amazing job and still smiling in spite of it all! Mad respect for you!
Dude ! you are a better man than I am. Did the AT 26 years ago but wow, hike on! I will be keeping up with your progress. Thanks for your positive thoughts.
Just watched from the start to here in one sitting. Thanks for the videos! I'm looking forward to continuing with you. I hope to be following you next January. I've read Ten Million Steps and actually seeing what the swamp looks like is very helpful. Which filter do you have? I have a sawyer squeeze. I need to check if it filters pesticides. Keep trucking!
Hey, when you start getting further North near Polk County if you need some support, let me know. I can give you rides or bring you some stuff. Enjoying your videos.
@@FirstChurchofTheMasochistHikes the 2 north of you on the trail i was able to get them a canister met them on the road walking portion before getting to the swamp.

Dude! That switch from daylight to night hiking. Very funny from my armchair, but probably not so funny to actually experience.
5;20 the water receded. It was at least a foot higher 3 weeks before you went through.
From Homestead to Miami I can bring any Florida trail thru hiker canister fuel if needed.

Masochist, indeed!
Ugh!
Get rid of that ULA.
