- Follows a route from the Rickenbacker Causeway to Brickell Ave through Downtown to Biscayne Blvd to the Port, then to Miami Beach and Ocean Drive before heading back to Downtown for a jaunt on the freeways out to the Airport area and back. All music and equipment FAQ's are in the closing credits.
Wow, I don't know how you are able to keep focus on the highway and not get distracted by the scenery in the foreground, your music selection is perfect, again outstanding, truly another awesome video dude!!!!
Thanks James, yeah there's a lot to look at around there, I try my best to stay focused on the road.....Driving in Las Vegas is very much like that too.
I can't be the only spectator who moved the living room furniture and pulled out the old danced moves for this venture (out of breath) THE MOST FUN I had on my day off Thank & Bless you sir!!
That's awesome, thank you!
Fantastic. Lifelong Los Angeleno who moved to Miami two years ago...I love the city. You really captured its flavor and energy - it's truly like no place else. Cheers!
Thank you!
ebdprod How do you like Miami compared to Los Angeles? People compare the two cities all the time, but they're very different to me
Excellent Video, Great Filming Work and Fantastic Presentation of Beauty Miami, Facts added are excellent.
Thank you very much!
Who needs Vegas or even the 4th of July when you have THIS to admire. Eye Candy at every turn, and I really liked the "up close & personal" with the airport! I'd probably be wanting to scout a good location for planespotting! The Afterhour tune was spot-on-perfect, too!
Thanks, and the sad thing is there was so much more I wish I could have done/gotten, there was a bad wreck on I-95 Northbound so I had to stay away from that area and we wanted to do a Facebook Live, which we did after this ended so that's 30 minutes we'd have otherwise been filming for FWJ, so many roads, so little time :)
The Afterhour tune was Erik's idea, we played a couple times during that drive as to get a feel for it, which I thankfully did.
I know the feeling well. There was also a horrible accident that must have just happened before we stumbled upon the aftermath. Told the family that I WON'T be including it in the video. It wasn't pretty, to say the least.
No
that was 20 minutes of supreme awesomeness including the songs!!
Thank you very much for that!
Sun
I live off of these 15 minute plus videos!! Simply amazing from the music, to the streets, lights, and freeways! All I have to say is that I will be watching this for weeks to come! :) You definitely show off these cities well!!
Thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it!
Kelvin M. Russell I'm watching again now
Spectacular & atmospheric. I admire the way you never get lost on your road trips. Great video Jim.
Thanks Bill, I do study before hand and have the grid on the navi-system so that helps.
Great job specially the old school songs you got a nice taste !
Thank you much!
A very mesmerizing night ride, truly pumped up my spirits. I love KC & The Sunshine Band (one of my favorites), always good tunes to use. That stack interchange lit up at night was something out of this world!!! Thanks as always!!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
An atmosphere full of vibrancy, beautiful highways, and an excellent selection of music. Keep on doing good work!
Thank you very much!
One of my fav music videos... must still watch at least once a day
Thank you so much, glad you enjoy it!
Hey Jim! Nice driving in miami downtown! Miami downtown is the best place where people can live! Highways are so great! And Airports are awesome! I like this video!Keep up the Amazing work Jim 😃😃
Thanks!
This video perfectly captured the spirit and beauty of Miami. I love all the colors and the lights, and the music couldn't have been more perfectly integrated! Truly enhanced the already spectacular footage - great work.
Thank you very much Josh, glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you for re-uploading this! Much appreciated!
I did not re-upload it, it worked since I muted the song that was having the copyright issue.
Always an adrenaline rush to watch Jim's videos. I love them!
Thank you!
Jim,
I loved the video! Best city ever!! it brings back my Miami memories. I have been to the city many times, in the past and I just love it and I miss it! The new tunnel and pylon lights are Fabulous!!
Good job!
Thank you very much!
arguably, It's the finest of all your road trips I've seen by now. At least in my subjective point of view. Well done Freewayjim
Thank you very much!
Wow, 20 mins went by so quickly! Great video and beautiful city.
Thank you very much!
This video is nothing short of a miracle, great job man!!
Thank you, glad you liked it!
Very nice ride my friend! Enjoyed the soundtrack and nice touch with the Miami Vice theme there- nice video- Miami is quite vibrant and beautiful to see at night- always liked seeing the skyline in sports broadcasts over the years! Nice ride!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it!
I'd enjoy the video Miami look great at night the music work good with the Night Driving and seeing the beautiful city lights all together it is one of your greatest works that I've now enjoyed.
Thank you!
Good job, all your videos are amazing and didactic. I enjoy watching them and at the same time I learn in the descriptions that you give.
Thank you for the comment and for watching!
I had the chance to drive those roads back in the day. Awesome video and musics as always. You made me want to go Miami again.
Watching that video at night was awesome Jim. Miami at night is similar to New York City at night only brighter that New York. And that wow factor you were talking about was defenetally considered a wow factor.
Thank you for watching!
Wow!! Somewhere else where I used to live (several different places, in fact). I saw SW 14th Street while you were on Brickell. Turn left down it, and there used to be an old apartment building where I lived in 1970 for about a year or so. I had just come back from having spent six months in Israel (I was still expecting to see street signs in Hebrew and Arabic) and I noticed that my landmarks had been torn down while I was gone. Believe me, those huge condos and other buildings were nowhere around then. I still remember how I loved those lights in all those buildings downtown and I had a sudden sensory memory of how the warm, humid air felt. Sensory overload is a mild description, especially if you're on the autism spectrum like I am. A beautiful sensory overload. Thanks for this video.
Thank you for the comment and for watching!
I've also bookmarked this page so I can come back and see it again.
It's unbelievable that the date you posted this video (17th of July, my birthday) everything you filmed, the place, the music, seems so perfect! It was like a birthday present for me! Thank you so much! Greeting from Brazil!
You are very welcome and happy birthday!
Just a great pleasure watching this. The Miami skyline at night is very cool
Thank you Fred!
Freewayjim ,Thankyou!I love watching you're older videos too.🙈
1st time on your channel. Nice trip, nice video and music, thanks for graphical and text explanations. I've really got pleasure. With respect from Russia.
Thank you for watching Oleg!
A very rocking nighttime tour of Miami. I expected you'd have the Miami Vice theme in there somewhere and you did not disappoint.
LOL, Thanks!
Wonderful video from the song selections to the footage. Florida's DOT does a really good job with their road lines and reflectors to make it easier driving at night. That new tunnel was fantastic and I see they really like using those speed radar signs down there.
Thank you, yes everything about driving in the Miami area is top notch.
Fantastic video. Last was in Miami in 2002 and it sure has changed. Thanks for the upload.
Thank you for the comment and for watching!
Just based on your videos i created an awesome playlist. Helped to get from Cheyenne to Rochester NY in 23 hr drive, helped me stay sparked along the way !! you have great choice in drive by music.
Thank you very much and safe travels!
That was an entertaining ride! North American urban freeways are much more impressive than Europe. There are some nice routes here and there, but in large U.S. cities you'll get all those big interchanges and skyline views. Miami looks great at night. The 826-836 interchange is very impressive.
Thanks, yes Miami really does look great at night, one of the better cities for driving around too.
That's not true. Roads in European cities are by no means less impressive. Quite the contrary. Due to the preservation of genuine urban cities the design elements of these roads are distinctively urban which results in some truly spectacular roads.
What you call tame is in fact a sophisticated approach to road design that considers the needs for all road users and not just those of motorists as well as environmental aspects. European design standards are not matched by those in the United States. American roads are positively third world to put it mildly.
@@flierfy Mr. Flierfy is demonstrating the stereotypical European mindset. Which is the arrogance of the intellect.
@@travelst1954 At least we have an intellect.
Best tour video of Miami on UA-cam!!
Thank you very much!
Great Ride Along video! Got instant feeling from playing GTA Vice City in my childhood - great memories :P
Thank you!
Thanks for another great ride, Jim. I never really go farther south than Boca Raton, so this great to watch.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.
I lived in CutlerRidge( now Cutler Bay)in the early 90s, Kendall, Coconut Grove and Miami Beach in the late 90s early 2000s. Now I am living in Newton Falls Ohio an hour SE of Cleveland. This is a beautiful video and shows how beautiful the Miami area is at night. But don't be fooled the traffic during the day is horrendous, especially on the Palmetto 826 and the Dolphin 836 expressways.
Thank you for watching!
Spectacular work! You make Miami look as amazing as she is!
Thank you, much appreciated!
Damn that was nice. You really captured what I love about Miami. Glad you enjoyed yourself!
I certainly did, thank you!
Excellent, once again thank you for another great video, love this ride along.
Thank you for watching!
Superb! Another job well done! I did notice watching throughout that people drive crazy there!! I learned to drive in a big city, but they seem to cut right in front of a lot of people zooming from the far left all over to the right to make their turn! Then zooming around traffic so they can go first! Yikes! Reminds me of driving here in New England.
Thank you Dan! Yes, the drivers are pretty crazy down there and it was consistent throughout the time I was in the Miami area.
You have a very good taste in music. Always finding some good songs .)
Thank you!
That was amazing, and one of your better night videos for sure! And understandable that you had to turn away from Ocean Drive when you did, due to all the congestion. As much as I wouldn't have minded seeing more of that street, and I'm sure you'll film that on another trip. And nice that CosmoPhotography suggested you that route for driving through downtown Miami at the beginning of your vid, since it turned out really great!
Thank you!
One word: mindblowing. Absolutely stellar.
Thank you Brian!
That's 3 words 😉
Nice video and Miami Vice showcase I love that show.
Thank you!
All sorts of sexy, sleek and cool, featured in this bad ass video of yours. Favorited! All sorts of neat stuff in this, including that new tunnel and the neon-lit stack interchange.
Thanks man, that's modern day Miami for you, it truly exceeded my expectations.
Wow Miami is a beauty! especially at night
lol yes it is
Everything is just so sparkling clean in S. Florida. Just as I remembered it from the 70's and 80's.
This is one of your best! The music choice was awesome (particularly that Kool and the Gang tune, it should have been called "Downtown Blues", it has the feel. Loved that red Freedom Tower, and the blue lighting on the stack interchange was a great idea.
Thank you very much.
Excellent video. Keep up the good work.
Thank you!
Very nice JIm! Great way to spend my lunch hour!
Thank you!
Thank you
You’re One Of My Favorite UA-cam Channels Ever!❤
Thank you for watching, glad you enjoy it!
That was quite an adventure! And a busy one!
Thanks, it was a lot of fun too!
Wow! I drove Miami in 2009. Neither the tunnel nor the bluelit interchanges was there yet. But the skyline was still very impressive.
Your videos are absolutely awesome!! Thank you!!
Great looking city. Never have been there, but after seeing your vid, I'm definitely going to visit. I noticed not a speck of litter along almost all of the route. So different from how trashed out Texas cities are.
Thanks, I hope you get there!
lucky you
Amazing! What a very beautiful city!
Thank you, it really is.
Great video! You definitely captured the energy and feel of Miami. Too bad Ocean Drive was too congested because you missed the Art Deco district when you turned left on 5th. I hope you got a chance to visit South Beach during your time there
Thanks, yeah the plan was to keep going north but that would have ruined everything looking back on it, maybe another time.
Stunning video!
Thank you!
Miami's downtown skyline is rivaled only by Chicago and New York. That's not including the other skylines in South Florida like Fort Lauderdale, Sunny Isles, Miami Beach etc. Awesome video!
Thank you!
Downtown San Francisco also rivals, that place is awesome
Their tallest is just under 800 feet. They have no buildings over 1000 feet. A few are proposed. Let's see if those go through, then we'll start comparing it to Chicago and New York.
@@GER-sm3gh it's just not about building height. Stop being a casual. It's also about architecture and building density. Stop hating
Down here visiting the area now. Yes the traffic is so bad here by the beaches. To add to that the roads are under construction and many repair bumps are poorly done. Giving a bumpy drive besides the volume of traffic. Growing pains in effect here.
I've never been to Miami, but I would love to go down there, looks like such a cool city
I had a blast watching this
Thank you for watching!
Very nice video!
Thank you!
Love this video! Miami is one of my favorite cities in the world! I was wondering if you were ever going to New Orleans to film there?!
Thank you, I have several videos from New Orleans the most recent being from 2015. ua-cam.com/video/3GlPeodR2E0/v-deo.html
That was very enjoyable! Downtown Miami is pretty cool. I couldn't understand what the wow factor was at that Palmetto Expressway stack; was it the blue lights? I would that really cool.
Thank you, yes the blue lights under the stack, you don't see that in many other places, though it was really cool, especially in person.
Look it up from the source mentioned in the video.
Music and where you was driving was cool. Even though you published it 15 minutes ago
What does that matter?
Freewayjim Maybe nothing
Freewayjim I love the music and the video and Miami is almost building like Texas. Anyways I hope you have a blessed day Freewayjim!
Thank you
Take a look at downtown Denver! The construction has been crazy in that city as well.
this video has good scenary & provides info.(to kept it interesting.)
Your videos get better every time Jim! Will you ever be back in West Virginia? I loved your WV Turnpike Video!
Thanks, I would like to re-shoot the WV Turnpike, so hopefully I can someday.
So cool I've driven all around these parts lol I love Miami
I’m Going To The Mountains in North Carolina Tomorrow!
Have fun!
Cosa un dulce vlog, godando it... do you know what that classy automobile at 19:09 minutos was? +Freewayjim
Un abrazo hope you're not melting or freezing over there in the states (depending on where you live!) x
I'm not a car guy but I think it might be a Corvette....Nah I live in the Atlanta area, temps are mild right now, thanks.
Could you try doing some videos in the Orlando area? It's rather interesting.
I don't think it's that interesting and I never have a reason to go there....maybe when I-4 Ultimate is done, we'll see
Awesome video FWJ!!!
Now,I told my Interpreter honestly without my hard time getting traveling to the city and town beautiful/pretty much all weekend my life is face to heart.
Hard to believe that such a gritty, crime-ridden city (or so the media likes to have us believe) can be so beautiful at night. Few skylines in America can compare.
I'm sure there are bad areas but what I saw was a shining, gleaming, colorful, fun, vibrant, modern city.
@@Freewayjim no sound In the middle of the sound of this video thanks
Oh come on, it sounds like you would talk about NYC in the 70s and 80s....Miami is far away from that
@@matthewelmakias3667 That has nothing to do with Jim, its youtube and the copyright problem
The roads are so well lit in Miami that I saw at least 3 cars without headlights on at night in this video.
Wesley Tran I saw them too
Very nice ride Jim
Thank you John.
I was so excited as I read the title.
But now I'm so sad because it's not available here at my smartphone. And unfortunately I have no other possibility to watch it. 😕😣😢
It will play on a smart tv or you could try it on a computer at your local library. Some of the songs have weird copyright restrictions, sorry.
Freewayjim So sad. There's no library near my home and I don't own a smart - tv.
No chance for me right now. 😕😣😢
You should've added "In the Air Tonight" as well, but it was still very nice.
I already had one slow tempo song, not sure where it would have otherwise fit within this video, plus In The Air Tonight is 1:16 longer than Summer Madness so I could not have used it in place of that even if I wanted to....doing the soundtrack is not as simple as just dropping songs in because you like them, timing, tempo, and other factors have to be considered.
You're right. Still would've been fun to have an excuse for Lasagna Cat memes though.
0:15 - 0:40 ... The moment you realize FreewayJim leads a much cooler existence than you.
LOL! I'm not sure about that but thanks.
KING TROY AND FREEWAY JIM BEST VISUALS
What a beautiful city!
Hey Jim! I really love your channel, great content man!
I’m curious to know about experiences driving in Miami. Did you have to deal with a lot of Aggressive and/or crazy reckless drivers in Miami? I wanna visit Miami so badly, but the driving there that I’ve seen and heard about absolutely terrifies me... I’m not necessarily an inexperienced driver either. Been behind the wheel for about 5 years, but man does that driving in Miami look deadly...
Miami Vice.
that`s the way i like your videos, very cool......:)
Thank you!
13:48 - The airport area reminds me of the Los Angeles Airport
You should come and do downtown and midtown Phoenix
Can you do something of the Atlantic City, NJ area?
Probably not, I have no reason or desire to go there.
What was the first time you ever did a road trip
I have been to Miami once last year it was really cool to see, however I wish I had seen it in the 1980s in its prime.
Are you going to make a Peachtree Industrial Boulevard Video?
Probably not.
Miami has some beauty to it
Miami is always best and safest to drive late at night.
Nice video, also I've always wondered; how fast do you speed up your videos, does it vary? Because I know you speed them up 4X a lot but this one seemed much slower, was it 2X the original speed?
Thank you, the speed is varied in places as you can probably tell, 2 to 2.5x on streets and 3.5 to 4.5 on average on freeways but it will vary based on many factors, including the music tempo or how and when I want certain things to happen.
Ok makes sense, thanks, and btw this is actually one of my favorite videos of yours, I hope you do more street recordings they're dope
I love this video keep up the good work and btw what happened to cp media since you mentioned him?
Thank you, CP Media is a good friend and is working on his career goals and living life!
Oh so that explains why he’s gone and hasn’t uploaded thank you very much
I love Shreveport do you make that video in 3 year oge
Music was fire. Live summer madness.
the music at the beginning reminds me of GTA vice city.
Blue Diamond VII thats cool
Summer Madness (song 2) was in Vice City. Fever 105.
@Blue Diamond VII because it is
It reminds me of Miami Vice. lol
Oh yeah, Miami Vice, and the Ferrari Testarossa!
