You've been a big help to get me started. No one else is doing what you are with these tutorials and really showing someone how and where to begin! I used your blog article for what burrs to begin with. They came in yesterday and I printed my designs so I can start my first skull... Here goes nothin! More tips, tricks, and techniques please! :) thank you for taking the time to share! Very much appreciated!
US Skull Hunter I'll start with a doe skull, then I've got some pretty nice sized bucks I want to do. Figured practicing on the doe skull first would be a good idea. I'm sure I'll have a million questions, and screw ups! 😊
I've watched a lot of your video's learning techniques for carving !! It's been great !! I started carving gourds this past fall which I raised last year and find these carving styles apply to them as well !! It's really relaxing and satisfying !! Thank you for your teachings.
That's awesome to hear Evelyn :) Yes, I have heard others who carve gourds say the same thing. You definitely have a lot of nice surface to work with !
Thanks Berry! Yes, I have it in my mind how to do it but just have not taken the time to. I know it would really help keep my "shop" a lot cleaner :) Thanks for watching!
Hey Jonathan! That would be awesome! If you haven't done any skull carving yet check out this article I wrote on what you will need usskullhunter.com/skull-carving-101/ and then check out my video on how to get the design unto the skull ua-cam.com/video/rghXUZ9GbTE/v-deo.html Feel free to shoot me a message on Facebook or Instagram with any questions!
This is going to be fun! Thxs so much for sharing your skills. Question- any simple methods of applying a design on the skull before carving would be helpful...
I really appreciate your videos man, I use laser cnc engravers and sometimes you just have to do things by hand but you saved me alot of F ups with your vids thanks!
Been watching the videos & found a skull to work on. I had trouble carving thru so a light could show thru. What do you do about all the bone thru out the head? do you somehow try to cut it out?
Hey Cindy! Sorry for the late reply! So I just work through the bone where it allows and then do relief carving in areas that are too thick to carve through.
