I always drop 30-40 points when a team is in man, but I noticed this one specific team knows how I score and the shots I like to take, and when they see me bring the ball up, as soon as I cross halfcourt, they play a HIGH 2-1-2, and if I try to jolt dribble/split in the middle, they collapse and try to trap, if I pick a side to drive, they both chase me and attempt to trap, so this was helpful in a way. It was a lot harder to score with them setup that way
I had a beginner 4th hrade team & a league coordinator asked me if we would play a 7th grade team that wasnt that good. I dont turn down extra games so i agreed. The other team was big & we scored on turnovers & fast breaks but my team was not good at outside shots. The 7th grade team got in a 2 1 2 but just stayed in their spots with no movement forcing us to shoot outside. Any suggestions on what to do in a situation like that other than just getting better a shooting? lol btw i have watched your videos for years & i appreciate your help. Im going to have to check out your unbeatable zone defense if you could send me a link on how to purchase it
Hello, for a non moving zone I would try drive and kick to see if the defence moves. If defence doesnt move you'll have open layups until they change out of the zone ... here is the link to the unbeatable defence www.alsbballtraining.ca/author-the-unbeatable-basketball-defence.php
@bballcoachallen thanks sir! I'm excited to get the book & will give you a shout after I read it. Keep the videos coming! They've helped alot over the years!
this video is very helpful because my team is running 2-1-2 defense and now i know how other teams can counter

I'm asking you how to beat 2-2-1 half court zone defense mot a 2-1-2 zone defense.
Kinda groovy
thanks
