- Payitaht Abdulhamid takes us back in time to the fight for the existence of the Ottoman Empire. The story depicts the life of Sultan Abdulhamid Han who ascended the throne in 1876 and remained on the post for 33 years. It also follows the events that took place in the Ottoman State and around the world during the time of the “Almighty Sultan”.

By the time the ottomans arrived the Byzantine empire was shattered and they have lost most of their territory. And also at the time this series is happening the ottomans were so weak that England(Britain) could have easily conquered every bit of it. They had bigger armies taht were much better equipped than the ottomans. The only reason they didnt was that the other major powers(France,Germany etc.) would have let Britain conquer so much land.

What I can't understand, other than it keeps the story line going, is why such a "brilliant, intelligent mind" hasn't uncovered Mahmut Pasha's betrayal. I love this series because it would NEVER be shown in the USA and I've learned a lot of history our corrupt government would rather us not know. This is the same story line played out across many nations at the time. Many nations prior as well as many nations since. History repeats, only the names, locations and details change. The Marxist plot and conspiracy stay the same. Generation after generation. Sad but true. Pure evil.
@@abdullahalhamim4934 I look very forward to seeing Season 2. I have watched both Seasons of Yunus Emre and enjoyed it better than this one actually. Yunus Emre was much more spiritual with much less of a boy/girl/power/betrayal drama, more my cup of tea. However I do hope they upload Season 2 soon! Both series were excellent.
From the moment Omer rescued Sultan, I knew this moment was coming.
Celal was the coolest character, well acted too. He'll be missed.

He was my favourite character, and i thought he would die coz Payitaht is filled with betrayals and deaths but i didn't expect him to die so early and not only that but so easily, like he had done harder missions like infiltrating the Royal Palace of British
PS why i thought he would die coz I thought he was Sultan's son like the first time Sultan speaks of him he says 'Son' i thought he was his own son so I thought he was like a main side character 😂

Hagia Sophia shouldn't be a mosque as the prophet mohammed pbuh never changed the places of worship of the Christians and ordered them to be protected. So did the last Ottomans. Hagia Sophia was a church and should remain a church
