You need to adjust the length of the stands for where you want them to land in the braid, I would suggest leaving extra length at the end so you can add length as needed

She looks so frickin adorable you nailed it. Our creations will never meet our high standards we keep in our head for all of them. We just have to learn that nothing is perfect nor will it ever be. Also something else to remember is most of the population can't do what we are capable of when it comes to any form of arts and crafts. To them what we create is perfect its just in our minds that it isn't good enough and it probably never will be. We put such high standards on our creations even when it's not possible to meet those standards. I know this feeling all too well.
She looks incredible. I honestly think your technique of sewing the hair down is gonna be the most "realistic" because you want the braids to get smaller towards the end, but the strands of hair are too thick to not stick out. I almost wanted to say you should just crochet the strands longer, but then you wouldn't get that tapered braid like she has in the movie. You could also crochet her hair double stranded, and then make sure to drop the second strand at varying places on each piece, so that they all taper down at different rates. I think that still might look strange and choppy though. Your technique is awesome imo. Absolutely perfect. 💜
You did an amazing job, I think the only reason it looks a little off is because her hair is a fishtail braid and not a regular one, but it doesn't look that different and it's still stunning

Use chunkly white yarn. Cut it twice as long as needed, and use a latchhook to attach it to the head. Now, after cutting it to length, if you choose, you can untwist the strands & attach them seperately. Doing that would give your hair a more realistic look. Plus, you could use a needle & thread while styling the hair, to secure it in place.
If you crochet a bunch of hair on the back to not just on the side, you can have a Lotta hair to work with it looks it works and looks really well I I haven’t done it myself but I know because I’ve seen it done a lot of times on different dolls like that so if you do that, I think it might help a little give you some more room some more time and if you’re selling that to a little kid do not sell the hair down they are going to take the bread out. They are going to want to play with the hair.❤
