- www.playbill.com/multimedia/video "On a Clear Day You Can See Forever," the richly tuneful 1965 musical by Alan Jay Lerner and Burton Lane, has been reincarnated on Broadway for stars Harry Connick, Jr. ("The Pajama Game"), David Turner ("In My Life," "Arcadia") and Broadway newcomer Jessie Mueller. Newly rethought by Tony Award-winning director Michael Mayer ("Spring Awakening," "American Idiot") and playwright Peter Parnell ("QED"), the romantic musical comedy tells the story of psychiatrist Dr. Mark Bruckner (Connick) who, while hypnotizing patient David Gamble (Turner), stumbles upon - and falls
in love with - David's former self, 1940s jazz singer Melinda Wells (Mueller). - Розваги
As a fan of both Alysha Umphress and Jessie Mueller, when I found out they'd been in the same musical I had to check it out!
Imagine being one of the women and thinking "oh yea this is a normal day, Harry Connick Jr. is looking at me and kissing me.... you know nothing out of the ordinary..."
Does anybody know at what point in the story "Too Late Now" was inserted?
I loved the movie and I loved the show. I didn't love Harry though. I thought the girl playing Melinda was the real star. Harry was stiff and waxlike.
One of my favorite movies.....was so excited to hear this was coming to Broadway UNTIL I heard of the script change. When my girlfriends heard of the changes.....none of them wanted to see it either.....bring back Daisy Gamble.
Daisy is in the show.
'On a Clear Day You Can See Forever' is one of my favorite movies, and I'm not sure I like the plot of the Broadway show. Would've preferred it to be more similar to the film.
This looks like crap. The movie and original broadway show had so much wonderful stuff in it! This 'looks' like the typical mainstream crap that Broadway has come to churn out.
The show and movie had a great score but both were crap due to an improbable, silly script. This version did insert some songs which elevated the show but the idiotic book was made worse by updating it to 1970 and making it an anachronistic manifesto on same-sex marriage.
@@richardmayora1289 can you explain more? I am trying to do more research on the show but information about the revival is very scarce. What are all of the differences?
