Bought. Mine several years ago and it has been underused for sure. Now with the “ stay at home” rules, I’m going to use my time learning something new....how to use my serger. 👏👏. Made straps for masks today. Fun to use🌝. Tomorrow, I’ll check out something else it can do

I love Baby Lock machines! I recently bought the Triumph to replace a 33 year old (still working) Baby Lock serger that I’ve passed on to my sister.
I've owned many brands of sewing machines & sergers in my 55 years of sewing. I'm totally sold on BL and own a BL combo machine (Ellisimo Gold II), a single needle machine (Brilliant) and now a brand new serger (Celebrate).
I wouldn't even consider snother brand anymore.

I have the ovation and just love it.
I use to hate to gather now with my machine it's so easy! You can make costumes and make the ruffles stand out by adding fishing line when doing a rolled hem. Works very nicely. The cheap fishing line works best. I put the spool of line on an old empty stack of CDs holder so it doesn't roll all over the place. Great video! Thank you.

Well, for the price of these things they SHOULD cut out and sew the whole thing for you!! LOL 😆 However, I do have the smaller Imagine and I love it, it’s a wonderful little machine and well worth the money!
At 53 seconds in, yes, that hem looks very clean, but if you wear the garment, it WILL fray. I used the rolled hem to hem a chiffon dress and it looked fantastic after it was done, just like in this video. I wore it out, and it frayed terribly the same night. Turns out, the thread really matters. I had to buy a thick heavy duty thread to make an OK hem, but with my OCD, I still noticed sections that frayed a bit :/ Would love to hear any tips in this space... I really hope I'm doing something wrong after spending as much as I did on a BL!
Not to burst your bubble, but I absolutely love my Bernina serger (1150 MDA). When I bought my machine, I asked the owner who sold many brands of sergers what she had in her home. She said "Two Bernina"s" That tells a lot, so I bought the Bernina serger and have had it since 2009 (so now 10 years old) and has not given me any problems. Quiet compared to others, including the Baby Lock, too.

I have had my babylock since 1996 and have only done repairs on it, i always use my singer sewing machine to create clothing. These machines look like mine but they have so much more. I wonder if I should buy a newer one. Mine looks new.
So I'm about to get a babylock vibrant. Of which I'm totally new to serging. Can the vibrant do the same things as what you demonstrated on the triumph?

When I got my first serger I was scared to death I would do something stupid! It took me 3 months to just get it out of the box. Now I can sew just about anything on it. So don't worry take a class and DON"T worry! You will do just fine!
@@UtahGmaw99 you should have gotten lifetime assistance with that from your dealer I did. When I have questions or challenges I take my machine to where I bought it and they always help me for sure.

Can you use cork fabric in a serger?
Hi! You can serge lots of different fabrics on a serger! We have not tested cork, but, we've been able to successfully serge fabrics that would act similar. You may need to test it first and either serge the cork with an overlay of tissue paper to tear away after serging or use a Teflon foot to enable the cork to pass through under the foot easily.

How can I set up my acclaim to do the straight stitch
This is great, but am I the only one bothered by all the thread wasted when she runs the machine so long after the fabric is finished serging?

Good grief. If you can afford this machine, you can afford the few extra dollars over the LIFE of the machine to pay for the extra thread. You are really overthinking this.

Hello! Great question! Your imagine should be able to handle it! But, always test a small sample of what you want to stitch with to see if it works with the machine - play with the stitch width and length to get the look you want. And, if the fabric has a texture or grip to it, you may want to look at getting a Teflon foot to help the fabric feed better. www.babylock.com/accessories/feet-attachments/teflon-serger-foot-enlighten

Hi Chris, make sure to leave enough hem allowance and use a 3-thread or 4-thread Overlock wide to finish off the cut edge. If you don’t have a Cover Stitch Machine, press the hem allowance up and use a zigzag stitch or a double-needle on your sewing machine to hem the shirt. Heat Bond has a Soft Stretch (Lite or Ultra) Fusible Hem Tape that helps press, fuse, and hold the hem perfectly and in place for stitching.

You can use wooly nylon serger thread for swimwear.

Hello! Gathering can be accomplished with a full 2 to 1 ration on fabrics that are single layered and light to mid-weight fabric. The amount of fullness you can achieve will typically be impacted by the thickness of the fabric and fiber content. Fortunately, you can adjust your gathers by pulling on the needle threads after stitching to make gathers fuller.

Very nice machine. Not in the average price range, I'm assuming. Also not available to the disabled who are shut-ins. Only sold in stores to those able to physically go there. I do enjoy these videos and watching the machines sew :) Thank you for this peek at the outside world of sewing.

BUKOLA ADEYEMI I would think so! I have the Baby Lock Evolution and it’s awesome! I’ve serged bags and pillows so I would assume a t shirt could be done! 😊

Hmmm, I didn’t realize one can get a straight stitch with a serger. I wonder if all sergers can do a straight stitch.
The chain stitch is available on the BL 8-Thread sergers, so Triumph, Accolade, Euphoria as well as some older machines like Ovation and Evolution.
You can also do a straight stitch on the Euphoria, which is a cover/chain stitch only machine.
@@babylocksewing thank you, that is very unfortunate. I own a Victory and I can’t do a straight stitch on elastic fabric. I feel all sergers should do a straight stitch. My serger feels incomplete without a straight stitch. I didn’t realize this when I bought it.
