-MAPA means "map" but it also means "mama(Mother) and papa(Father)". It is a thanksgiving song for our parents. They guided us like a map so we will never get lost.
SB19 is a five-member Filipino boy band who debuted in 2018 consisting of Josh, Pablo, Stell, Ken, and Justin. They were trained for three years by ShowBT Philippines, beginning in 2016. They are the first Filipino and Southeast Asian act to be nominated in Billboard Music Awards for the Top Social Artist category

It's a revolutionary song for me, most Filipinos are not much into that kind of songs but SB19 is a genre themselves. You might also want to check out their ballad songs like Tilaluha, Hanggang sa Huli, and MAPA. They're known for singing live because it sounds more rich than the studio versions. You guys must check them out, they are so talented not only in singing, rapping, and dancing but also in the production of their songs, choreography, and mvs. They are recently got nominated at Billboard Music Awards for Top Social Artist. @@Meliodas-if7ze i guess their older songs sounded like one, but What? This doesnt sound like kpop at all. It's very different, especially the rock vibes. And it's more similar to Bohemian Rhapsody structure rather than a kpop structure.

@@Meliodas-if7ze hmm but "What?" doesn't sound much of a pop music. But you know, pop will always sound like pop. If its language is Korean, then it's Kpop. If it's in Filipino/Tagalog, it's Ppop. Because it is POP music. I see why some people compare them to Kpop, it's because kpop is the most popular these days. However, other countries have their own pop music too. Just sayin' :)))
@@Meliodas-if7ze uhm, i AM a kpop fan, and i do know how to differentiate kpop and ppop. They only had small pop in the song (Justin's part) and the rest sounds like rock. The inspiration of the song (said the leader) was We Will Rock You, so how would it sound kpop? The rap was very filipino type of rap though, that i can say. POP is still pop, no matter what country does it.

This song has so much changes of melody and tempo because it express the individuality of each member and this song was inspired to Bohemian Rhapsody..
Each scene has a story and symbolism. You'll gonna appreciate more of this song when you understand the deep meaning of the message and how it's was produced.. so many reactor has a same reaction like you. They say that this song is really different. And I think that's the beauty of this song, because it really make you say "WHAT?". :) Uniquely beautiful. SB19 is so good in their craft.

I had to check SB19 with all the buzz going on around BBMAs. And I’m from another fandom and I had the same reaction with What?. I could not keep my eyes off the video because of how unpredictable it is! One minute it’s building and you think it’s gonna drop, then it totally goes into a whole new direction! I personally enjoyed it very much!
I think you will love to watch their live performances like "Tilaluha" and "Hanggang sa Huli". It highlights more their harmony and vocals.
#sb19 was like an ice cream vendor. They serve different kind of flavors. I mean they we're so versatile with their music, different kind of genres. They had ballads also. And their voices in live performance are insane. You forgot to turn on the cc the lyrics was motivational.

SB19's name was taken from the initials of their Korean management company, ShowBT, while the number 19 was taken from the country codes of South Korea (82) and the Philippines (63), by adding the digits or by getting the numerical difference, signifying the strong bond between the two countries that led to the group's creation. However, the members themselves came up with an alternative meaning, using the phrase "Sound Break" to make known their intention to break into the Philippine music industry and their aspiration to provide a higher standard for other Filipino idols to follow. Their group introduction, "Get in the zone, BREAK! Hi! We are SB19!" is also a reinforcement of their ambition to become the first Korean-trained Filipino idol group to represent the Philippines and the Filipino talent on a global scale.

Finally!! Our P-Pop Kings! ♥️ The song was written by their leader Pablo, Main choreographed by their main vocal Stell and main dancer Ken who choreographed his own parts too but Stell said it's a team effort so basically SB19 choreographed their own song with the help of Tank Bautista (Coach). The creative director was Justin the youngest member of the group. If you like to know more about their vocals check 'Tilaluha' on TM Pusuan that's their recent and best version for me. The Making Film and it's a 5 episode long documentation. You'll somehow get to know them better there but mostly it's about how and why they made "What?".
