I agree that he can be good offensively, but I can’t see superstar. He is a very good/willing passer for his size. He also has a good handle even if it can be a little out of control and rigid at times. I STRONGLY disagree on the shot mechanics looking nice though. His base is WAY too wide, his feet aren’t parallel, he doesn’t jump forward hardly at all, his feet land differently every time, his feet point way too much towards the basket (forces his right elbow to kick out and not aim towards the basket), and he doesn’t get much knee bend either. Up top his actual release and guide hand are ok getting decent rotation, but the feet pointing at the basket cause that right elbow kick out. He will need A LOT of tweaks to the jumpshot to even be passable. I think much of his problem is lack of confidence and reluctance to shoot, which causes the whole thing to be inconsistent and mechanical. He will need to rework his base completely and turn the shot into much more of one motion if he wants any chance of approaching league average. He has a lot of potential, but he is a player that needs to find the right situation and coaching to use his skill set properly.

Extremely raw offensively though he can pass the ball some. Defensively also raw. Very interesting player nonetheless... maybe in the mold of the great Dennis Rodman with is high energy and passion. Needs much coaching and guidance. Spurs can work with him !
Barnes, OG and Siakam are going to give teams complete nightmares all season. When you're not looking Vanvleet will pick your pocket out of nowhere for a fast break point. All the team needs is a top level scorer like Bradley Beal
It’s gonna be tough if he’s a zero on offense. I see some promise with the passing but I feel like Draymond is a bit more of a playmaker. I hope he can develop a jumper, then he can become scary. But I remember watching a Florida State game and thinking it was shocking the guy was projected so high because he was invisible on the court. Although, I didn’t realize at the time that he was projected that high purely for his defense.
His effectiveness cant be quantified based solely on his offensive shortcomings , simply because its so early in his basketball career. Ive been saying to ppl he reminds me of Giannis...3 years into his NBA career! Barnes is already a physically developed player. He will only get stronger and better with all his skill sets. Draymond is a low bar for him, he will be much better than Green. He’s already a better ball handler and defender than DG. When was the last time you saw Green press a point guard full court. I’d love to get this kid on my Knicks playing defense under Thib’s tutelage!
He really is like a way more athletic Draymond. Guys offense is just filled with question marks. If he can figure out even a little bit of a role in the half court and he'll be very good.
he's a lottery pick? he looks like a draymond green type dude. good playmaking/defense with suspect offense. i don't know if i'd go lotter here. there is so much talent in this draft.

@@chuckg8138 "Mini Giannis" and "fast Kyle Anderson" are very similar players in my mind
If the blazers lose in the play in game
We need this man
i was just thinking the same thing
I feel like ya just need to trade some guys. You already have Nasir Little. I don’t want Scottie on the bench for that long.
He’s honestly my favorite player in this draft. His potential is through the roof. Ima Cavs fan, and I think he would fit in perfectly at the 4 spot. Gives the Cavs two potential 2 way players with Okoro and him
He is the new draymond grenn
@@runner9931 literally what I was thinking 😭 but draymond was never this athletic or long. Wherever Scottie lands he’s gonna be a beast, especially when he develops a jumpshot
I agree completely. If he’s picked by Cleveland he helps solve some of the problems they have with they’re defense and could improve their playmaking in the next couple years. He’s a solid fit with that core.
Agreed. Hes also my favorite player. If somehow my detroit pistons drop down to the 5th or 6th pick, then I hope we take him.
Love the intensity he plays with
@@dorianrunnels7829 for sure they have a very offensive backcourt and okoro barnes and allen will bring in defense barnes will bring creation for the others

Every time I see him play I see a better draymond green and that’s a player you want on a championship team
A better Draymond? There isn't any other like Dray but hey who knows, hope the Dubs draft this kid to prove if he could be Draymond 2.0
I genuinely think he could play the 5 for us. Imagine Pascal, OG, and Scottie - the defensive combination could honestly shut down any team. Every player surrounding him (VanVleet, GTJ, OG, and Pascal) are respectable shooters, and OG and Pascal are freak-like athletes. Scottie being the most natural playmaker of those 5 guys, I believe we could see him running point-center! Watch out for this Raps squad!
Reminds me so much of Andre Igoudala. He has to improve a ton offensively to get there though
He has warriors via Minn pick written all over him.
@Rico Pierre nobody said Minnesota wasn’t gonna get it can u read ? The warriors are more likely to get the pick tho.
Banger after banger.
Dont know how much I like this guy for my Thunder. He seems like hell be an offensive liability for a while. If he played Center I'd be a lot more comfortable with his game.
I feel you but he can develop his offensive game with us we can definitely develop his shit it doesn’t look to bad just imagine him and on dort defense Scottie with that energy I know his game isn’t exciting or anything but work ethic and passion he’s only going get better and learn
Awesome channel. Appreciate you trying something new with the voiceover, but in the beginning it’s kinda hard to listen to you, read the bottom text, and watch the video all at the same time.
His strengths can't be taught but his weaknesses can be. He needs to go to an organization that has a strong development history of young players.
Like the thunder lol, they fell out of the top 4 but could land this stud anyways
raptors are the perfect fit
I''m seeing Giannis lite, Luol Deng and like you said Draymond Green in him
He’s a modern day Scottie Pippen. I swear
Scottie could shoot tho
Bro can easily win like 2 DPOY in his prime
He's not as good as Issac ... Very good defender though. OKC baby!
@@gregorywatters3614 Bro ofc, he didn't even enter the league LMFAO 😂
@@imthemann_7782 huh? Enter what league?
Does the relative disappointment of similar player profiles like Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Stanley Johnson, and to a lesser degree Justise Winslow make you nervous about taking a guy with this skillset this early? I was all on board the MKG and Winslow train until there was no shooting development and the train went off the rails.
Raps at 4 making a lot of noise over him.
As a Raps fan, I would love to add this guy, but dont know if he is 4th overall quality. Maybe if we trade down.
Visionary
Calling it now this guy will be Warriors first 1st round pick (via Timberwolves)
🙏🙏🙏
Nah they need shooting
@@gregheghinian8085 there’s other ways to get shooting
@@gregheghinian8085 I mean, why not also snag a guy like Corey Kispert with the 14th pick? You get your shooter, and you get a long playmaker who has some really interesting potential
it’s gonna happen #7
Yessss. Been waiting for him
Future Cleveland Cavaliers! Scotty Barnes fits the culture that the Cavs are trying to build. He reminds me of Collin Sexton and will amplify their defense and playoff outlook as a rookie.
I am comparing Scottie Barnes to Collin Sexton from their energy and intensity to compete each night. Obviously vastly different players skill wise that is.
Nah i want kuminga to cavs
@@nikkovillafuerte9396 I can feel that. They need another source of consistent offense in the frontcourt with Kevin Love clearly ready to move on and Jarrett Allen not being a volume offensive player.
After 2 months of studying him and the other Draft prospects, I would have to say Scottie Barnes goes 5 or 6 in the draft.
#1 - Cade Cunningham
#2 - Evan Mobley
#3 - Jalen Green
#4 - Jonathan Kuminga
#5 - Scottie Barnes
#6 - Jalen Suggs
Yo if my raptors get him I will be so happy
@G no way. Raptors need offense. Especially if they lose Lowry. I like Barnes. But Raps need Suggs or Green.
@@thedigitalpoet ik that if cleveland draft green I taking barnes
@G They interviewed him when they thought they would get the 7th or 8 the pick. Now with the 4th pick they 100% pick Suggs.
It will be interesting for our Raps tomorrow. Suggs or Barnes will likely be who we end up with. Truly a tough call. Barnes is definitely a riskier pick but is a unique athlete. It will be hard to pass on Suggs, but we will see…
@@jokchung raps took Scottie lol
This is one of the most intriguing players I've seen in recent memory. A 6'9 guard with a 7'2 wingspan that specializes in guarding smaller players. This dude is a nightmare waiting to happen. Guards are going to hate seeing this dude.
He looks scary to face, imagine going against this long ass dude and he strips you clean. Ok fair, its ncaa, but the skill is still there
Raptors were so glad that Barnes as 6th man he's natural stats was suppressed, and went basically, under the radar.
Scottie a very elite defender
I think he will end up being the best in this draft.
Idk whats the hype with cade 😂😂😂
I think scottie can lock him up
@@chuckg8138 this aged well
How the hell did this guy fall to #4? Even in a stacked draft class? So big, long and skilled. He literally had it ALL including insane motor with skill except elite shooting
Built like General Grievous
Reminds me of OG Anunoby, if the raptors dont win the lottery hed be a good addition
Eh, as much as I LOVE what he is on the defensive end, our biggest problem by far since Kawhi left has been half court offense and I’d personally rather have a guy that we know is gifted as a scorer like Moses Moody to try and improve upon that
Welcome to OKC!
welcome to OKC
Let’s gooooo
OG 2.0 LESSS GET IT MONNN
As a Warriors I would literally do anything, anything to get this man
Too bad okc taking him right before you
@@wollinwande2900 u sure about that?
@@Slix890 should have taken Suggs
@@wollinwande2900 nah barnes is a 6'9 point guard who can defend all postitions he's with the raps so we can also develop his shooting i'll rather take a balance of scoring and defending then pure scoring no ones scoring on us og and barnes
@@Slix890 yeah I love barns but I think with Kyle Lowry leaving Suggs would have been the perfect fit, and what are you gonna do with siakim?
yessirr Okc should get him ⚡️⚡️
Sup bro ⚡️⬆️
If this man gets an alright shot, he gonna be a menace in the league
His wingspan is ridiculous, if he develops a jump shot he could be deadly. Based on the way he plays on the court he seems like a hard worker. Not a bad pick for the raptors, it’s just a matter of how much he develops
Future Warrior
Extremely raw offensively though he can pass the ball some. Defensively also raw. Very interesting player nonetheless... maybe in the mold of the great Dennis Rodman with is high energy and passion. Needs much coaching and guidance. Spurs can work with him !
I agree. He is a bit of a doppelgänger with Dennis Rodman. He looks very similar in his movements and physique
Great video bro and this kid would fit well with the knicks
OKC BOUND!!!!
Well said.
Hes my favorite player in the draft.
Vanvleet PG
Trent SG
OG SF
PF Siakam
Centre birch
( with Boucher dragic Barnes and Flynn off our bench)
Easy 4th seed
if a team will draft him, there must be a ready shooting coach similar to kawhi in san antonio
Even Kawhi coming out of the draft way a much better shooter than Barnes. His mechanics especially
Welcome to OKC
no
welcome to toronto
He really is like a way more athletic Draymond. Guys offense is just filled with question marks. If he can figure out even a little bit of a role in the half court and he'll be very good.
I hope raptors to draft him.
@Rico Pierre smh
What do you think his off ball production will be? Just doesn’t seem to be too effective without the ball in his hands
Great vid
he's a lottery pick? he looks like a draymond green type dude. good playmaking/defense with suspect offense. i don't know if i'd go lotter here. there is so much talent in this draft.
Awesome video thanks !
In other words, he's the perfect Toronto Raptor.
Fvv,og,scottie,Pascal, and birch that's a damn defensive line.up 😳
Fvv,og,scottie,Pascal, and birch that's a damn defensive line.up 😳
He won't be a big scorer but definitely can help a team impact defensively. Got the chance to become Future defensive player of the year
Great defense, intensity, and has potential on offense. The Rockets played zero defense last year.
Welcome to Toronto!
Given that okc have offensive threats on their past drafts (poku and maledon) they should draft this guy. Imagine having Kemba, SGA, Dort, Barnes, Kai Jones. Good start for rebuilding okc. If they wont let kemba play, maledon is also a good choice.
He will be 6th overall he fits with the most teams
He has to go to the warriors if he wants to maximize his career, hell for in perfect as a more athletic draymond
