The first time Phil gets emotional was the elimination of Charla and Mirna, truly Heart wrenching Moment. And The others moments really show the kind side of various teams, really nice..
That hay roll one...I remember watching this episode back in 2005, it's really the episode that has stuck with me the most, the persistance of these girls working late into the night never giving up was amazing.
Lena is one of the greatest warriors in the Amazing Race. She kept at those hay bales for 8 hours straight! She never gave up once. I'm sure any other team would have taken a penalty before that mark.
It really shows who she is as a person. She only complained once while a lot of other people would spend the whole time complaining or crying (Like Brooke in current season). She didn't even look that bothered towards the end. She's a fighter.
I love Charla. I just love her. She never complained, not once, when she had to work three times as hard as the other teams; she just dove in, determination guns blazing and did it. She never shied away from some other teams who were petty bullies, who may have been taller than her but had not a billionth of her heart. At the elimination, I have never seen Phil get choked up before, as he did when he asked her about what she wanted to prove. I am glad she had Mirna as a teammate, Mirna was formidable; nobody pushes her around on their best day. Other teams tried to bully them; I’ve never seen a person who might be construed as an easy mark for it because she looks delicate, hand somebody their head like that with clinical calm in decorum, deadly precision in speech like a guided missile, full control of their mind and in absolute charge of their own space. I admired them more than any team I’ve ever seen on the Amazing Race and I watch it always. I wish they had won, they deserved it the most out of all the teams.
compared to the girls in the final 3, charla worked harder, she did like 5 roadblocks, compared to the final 3 girls, who only did 1 the whole race, and in particular, 2 of the girls just did the caviar-eating roadblock
With the hay bales one, you know that she uncovered at least one clue, but overlooked it. :( I still give them credit for never giving up until Phil came. They really should've been invited back at some point!
I did the math on it once and if we assumed that each contestant rolled the average number of bales to find a clue, and that Lena searched around 100 according to phil, that Lena would have been around a 37 to 40 percent chance to find a clue in each bale by the time Phil stopped her. So more than likely she overlooked a clue, but even then they were extremely unlucky. I wanted them to go farther too!....mainly cause they were cute but whatever!
I know a lot of people don't like it when Charla and Mirna were harsh towards the other contestants, but let's be honest. I think we'd all hate it when your opponents are using you to guide them, eavesdropping on you or even just disrespecting you. Sometimes they might've acted harsher than they needed to, but I thought they were still one of my favourites.
just watched right now on here. My god that girl had determination and never gave up. I like that phil went over to them even though it was to tell them they were out of the race. everyone back at the pitstop must of been worried
But she went at it for over seven hours and they didn't quit because they were still hoping for an non-elimination! Come on, most people would be complaining after 1 hour of tearing up hay bales with their bare hands.......
I love Charla and Mirna they are the best team because Charla is working her butt off and Mirna is helping her cousin even though she wants to win ;) to CHARLA and :) to Mirna. I LOVE YOU SO MUCH KEEP AT IT.
Mirna is one of the top 5 biggest bitches to ever race. She pushes in front of people in an airport line and then yells at THEM for being rude. I can't stand her one bit. Lying, cheating, manipulative bitch.
Charla was a complete badass. Not only did she carry a 100 lb. side of beef in the first leg of the race all by herself, the leg where she and Mirna were eliminated she ate an entire ostrich egg, which they said was the equivalent of eating like a couple dozen chicken eggs.
The most heartwrenching moment for me: Nancy and Emily being eliminated at 5th despite being hours ahead of the Guidos, because they thought they were out of the race. (Eric and Danielle winning TAR11 is up there too; Charla and Mirna should've won!)
I remember that rose offering task on Goree Island, Dakar, Senegal (season 6). It was probably the one of the kindest aside by the all-stars version of the candle blessings.
Auschwitz was all-stars, Gate of No Return was Season six, anything with Charla and Mirna was either Season 5 or All-Stars, the family one was Season 8 and the hay bale one was season six.
The amazing race used to have a lot of tear jerking moments at the end with the music. They haven’t done that in years. Not sure why they changed the endings. Sucks. They completely took out those moments. You watched this people for months and were sad when they left Now they just say you’re eliminated and it ends. Lol. Very odd choice of change.
The sengal and poland part really takes the cake when you realize how much darker the location is I visit the cambodia genocide prison once and the vietnam war prison and it....hit hard when you realize that how many people were blood shed, how many people lives and dream were torn apart
I’d like a family edition again, in which the teams were a bit fairer. You had all this team with kids, then the winners had a strong team of four adults.
I was heartbroken when Charla and Mirna were eliminated. I loved both of their sassy attitudes and how they were to other teams. I was definitely rooting for them over Colin and Christie.
Both teams made the season, Colin was so crazy on s5 but honestly he’s quite entertaining to watch 😂😂😂😂😂 fast forward to s31 when they came back, WOW. Colin had a glow up over 15years its so wholesome
Season 6 should have changed the rules Everyone got held up at the airport for 12 hours anyway they should have changed it to a non elimination for Lena and Kirsty
I got angry when I saw the hay bale one. That was about luck, not skill. Another one that angered was when the two guys ..bilal...and..I forget...got eliminated super quick mid leg after taking like two whole taxi rides .....and all Phil could say was "oh hey surprise! You're eliminated"
I've always said that there should be a Season of returning 1st eliminated teams, and those guys from Season 10 should be 1 of the teams that returns for a 2nd shot.
I wish CBS had put together another 'best of' package for their 10th anniversary. I would've loved to have seen a 'life changing' segment, following up on the people who had truly life-altering moments on the show. Like when Uchenna and Joyce visited the orphanage in Africa as a childless couple, or when Reichen and his partner went to the wildlife reserve and encountered the orangutan.
Lrna and Kristy had the makings of the first eñite F/F team. Sucks they had to go like that. We provably would be talking about them like we do the Beauty Queens had they made it out of those hay bales.
I LOL at what CBS had originally picked (They originally had Luke losing at the Final Roadblock in TAR14). Like WTF? There were so many more saddening moments! It's like CBS doesn't want us to know that TAR didn't exist before TAR12 (though they did have like...one moment from Season 2). Kinda like Survivor where Jeff doesn't like to admit that Survivor existed before Micronesia.
It wouldn't surprise me if CBS has another "second chance" version in the works where those two DO compete. It'd be a refreshing change compared to some of the stunt casting they tend to do.
season 5 & 6 are the best seasons ever , the teams , the tasks ,the destinations ,every thing was sooo damn goood ,& i wonder why they didnt call lena & christie back in the all stars season or the unfinished business season !! coz they deserved to race again instead of some teams who played 3 times like margy & luke or flight time & big easy or even the cowboys -_-
As much as it would've satisfied a number of people (Jon/Vic I did not like AT ALL) to see Lena/Kristy continue, the four teams that you still mentioned still had the right to compete fairly. To "rig" the game against those four teams would break a whole number of rules about game shows-these rules do actually exist btw.
4:07 Sometimes I don't get the rules of the games....are they not allowed to SWITCH??? How come there's always 1 person doing nothing, yet sometimes they can work together? What happened to teamwork??
Damn it, when Phil starts crying so does everyone else. Phil isn't supposed to cry! Shit, I wasn't even a fan of Charla and Mirna and I was tearing up.
Lena & Kristy should've been in Season 18 (Unfinished Business) in my opinion. Infact, people that were eliminated 1st - 4th should've actually been in that Season, not people who stuffed up a task during the final leg..
i was glad to see charla and mirna get eliminated and i know saying that will bring lots of hate but the saddest moment for me was the placing of the rose in season 6 and watching gus get so sad
Agreed, and it would have been a much better season to watch. Jon/Vic, Freddy/Kendra, Lori/Bolo, and Adam/Rebecca made me sick to my stomach. If Lena/Kristy magically found the flag before Don/Mary Jean, I think TAR6 would have made my okay list of TAR seasons, but for right now, TAR6 lands right beside TAR21 as the worst seasons ever.
I know, but at the end of the day, I'm still glad Freddy and Kendra got the million. They got 1st at the Finish Line. And "there ain't no consolation prizes". lol
hoteliwinshowcases Why do you hate TAR 21? Was it because Josh and Brent won? I personally liked them and thought that their win was quite inspiring, although I would have been okay with any of the Final 3 winning. Also, I thought TAR 20 was much worse, and ranks alongside season 6 as one of the worst.
TAR21's casting was awesome since everyone had their moments, but the route was beyond awful. I didn't like any of the Legs until Palma de Mallorca, Spain was visited (and that is Leg 10). The only decent Leg aside from Spain was the finale in NYC. The editing, music, and task uniqueness started to go downhill since then, In all honesty, even TAR24 right now features over-visited countries and it's still better than TAR21's route.
hoteliwinshowcases I agree that TAR 21's first stop in China was disappointing. However, in addition to the legs you mentioned, I also liked the Bangladesh and Russia legs (especially the scale construction task in the former and the time zone quiz in the latter). So the route was not a complete bust for me, and I liked it way better than what I am seeing in the current season (especially those arranged flights and tasks that does not change order of teams, giving teams that landed bad cabs a few legs back no chance of moving up).
Sorry, I disagree about the Bangladesh Legs, but I respect your opinion. Didn't remember the scale construction Roadblock until you mentioned it. :P The time zone quiz judge (not even the task) and the Detour in Spain were the only things in TAR21 that kept me rooting for teams, and that's extremely disappointing coming from me, a viewer since Diesel-gate (season 3). As much as I dislike the arranged flights since it is an ALL-STARS season, producers should test their travel skills too like in TAR11, I've liked the same amount of tasks right now as I've liked in all of season 21.
@@Peter1999Videos lol, hi Peter! I thought season 27 was okay. I liked some of the teams' dynamics, but they really didn't reach levels of memorable except Justin/Diana. The route was parboiled.
Some of the tasks on this race are stupid as fuck - I mean...pushing hay around till you find a clue hidden in it? SERIOUSLY? The woman pushed over a 100 hay bales over a straight 8 hours and wasn't able to find it!
I liked the video though I call bs on the Charla and Mirna being in it. Sorry but she set back little people more than she helped them with all the fakeness and lying.
