  • In this episode, Rabbi Shafier explores how to strengthen your relationship, even if you and your partner are experiencing different realities. We discuss specific ways to communicate effectively, understand and embrace your spouse's emotions, and appreciate each other genuinely.
The Rabbi reveals the ONE THING your husband wants from you more than anything else, and it's not what you think. Similarly, he shares the ONE THING that will make your wife happy, and it's DEFINITELY not what you think.
He also covers the ONLY way to change your spouse so that you can finally get what you need in the relationship.

This is an excellent interview. Rabbi Shafier has addressed very key points and literally has hit the nail on the head regarding the gross misunderstanding of how relationships actually work. Not in theory, but in practice. This is really worthwhile to watch if you want to improve your relationship with your spouse.

I read the book THE FIVE LOVE LANGUAGES by Gary Chapman to determine what my wife’s primary love language is, then I started implementing her primary love language and the outcome was amazing. I was filling up her love tank and I always recommend this book.❤❤

"That's strange." (20:05) I'm definitely going to work on thinking that way instead of getting triggered and/or taking things personally. Thank you.

@23:30 - it says in Shulchan Aruch that before yuntif, you have to buy the kids presents and the wives jewelry. In Kesubos, it lays out the responsibilities of the husband in onah.

Commitment, love, and learning to love together.
Hollywood has it backwards; meaning, love is the glue once the marriage is established based on divine determination of said message.
“That’s strange…” a good observation to open dialogue to understand the partners reaction/interaction (non-judgmental but just an observation)

Cool fact that a lot of people don't know that the Lubavitcher would have tea with his wife every night!!!

Does there not exist some objective measure of proper / improper behavior such as consideration? It seems that there is a great emphasis on acquiescence based on the gender difference escape clause.
