RIP Eyedea. One of the greatest, under-appreciated rappers of all time
Im so glad I came across Eyedea, he's really changed my outlook on life/reality.

I was just heard this at work for the first time yesterday and it is amazing. He uses the record like a guitar to play a really beautiful outro melody. If you love that vibe and sound, you should check out the song abandon ship or abandon all hope by four year strong. They started a career off of their careers by literally just playing stuff like that scratching melody on guitar but in your face and with the type of energy like you’re just starting summer break in high school

Once a month i have to listen to by the throat just to humble my self and remember where I came from. Eyedea and his music has played a large role in keeping me sober and for that his music will remain in my rotation until the end of days.
the best thing about Eyedea (apart from his magic with words) is the fact he made songs that so many people liked and yet the felt so personal. its like he wrote them words just for you and nobody else. thats why whoever listened to him felt instantly connected to him.

Sometimes I find it very challenging to watch him play live. Oh the beauty this man held inside him is inspirational!

First time I saw, and ever heard of Atmosphere, was "The Bash on the Grass" in 1996 at U.W. Stout. Eyedea was 15, I was starting my freshmen year of college, AND THEY FUCKING KILLED IT!!
I like this album because they have no ego. They make it for themselves not anybody else. almost opposite of E&A and First born

Just seeing Eyedea get so into his music gives me shivers all across my body. You can really tell he cared about his music, and by his songs cared about other people His music will always reach out to people, he was one of the few rappers ever to have a heart, and he and his music are greatly missed. His music helps my life in so many ways, in my opinion he is one of the best rappers ever. RIP Eyedea, And Thank You..

@iOpacity I agree with your friend, actually. Eyedea isn't everyone's cup of tea. There are some people that get it, & some people that just don't. The people that do get it feel an instant connection with him when they hear his music.. Whether it's on cd, your iPod, or even from a video of him.. That's why I LOVE the Rhymesayers community. We're the small group of cats that get it. We have that special something in common, & that's what makes Rhymesayers so beautiful.

Say what you want about the album but I really think the album is amazing work by both Eyedea and the majorly under-rated Abilities. I've enjoyed seeing these two evolve and grow as musicians. The first album was more philosophical and their second album was a bit more battle oriented while having some classic deep songs. This new album is them changing it up, exploring music, and creating something beautiful. I love each song. My opinion though. Think what you want.
Ok to the person earlier in comments Eminem help form todays hip hop...Rhymesayers as a whole has done a lot on the independant scene. Eyedea as well as Atmosphere have helped me in my earlier life and I cherish there music because its pure.

Goddamn it I really miss Eyedea.... I DROVE....DROVE from Tennessee last year to Soundfest because I kept putting it off because I thought eyedea would be around longer that I would. I am (47) will be 48 Jan 2. I met Ant, Slug, Grieves, and others. But i sorely regret not getting to meet someone that I feel I could have a political, and life, conversation with. I will regret it for the rest of my life. I also lost a cousin that I loved like a brother that same year.
Michael and Adrianne Lenker would have made an album and it would have shut the entire world down. Love and peace and hardcore and poetry ❤
