Godwin is epic. He reminds me of a boss I had years ago. I’m southern, obviously, and have an accent, but this boss had one on a different level. He would holler over the intercom when he needed me to load things with with a lift truck. I learned at first to just come when I heard his voice even if he wasn’t calling me because I couldn’t understand a lick of what he was saying. He was short tempered and, well, short.😂 After a few months I learned to understand him. Yes it was that bad. He spoke english, I think…🤣 Granted Godwin ain’t that bad, but sounds similar enough. Much love and respect Godwin✌️✊😎Made me nearly drown in my own saliva.🤤
Hey Godwin I’ve done this similar but I actually stuffed bell peppers with beef, bacon, cheese, and veggies. Just cut the top off and take out the seeds.
Made these twice for my family and they are a HIT! I didn't put into a smoker, but cooked in the oven and took time to find the exact brands of seasonings you used, although I made my own teriyaki marinade. I made my bowls a little smaller and used a small jar to form the bowls (wrapped in foil). 2 pounds of ground beef made 6 bowls this way. You were right about the thin bacon too. It held the bowls together nicely and formed right into place, NO TOOTHPICKS NEEDED! I baked them in my big 16 inch cast iron pan and let them cook at 350 for an hour, (on the upper rack) stopping 1/2 way through to pour off the renderings. Everything you said was right about the flavor, from putting the teriyaki marinade into the mushrooms to starting and finishing the bowls with cheese. The family didn't even go for the ketchup with these!... Although they did use a little Tiger Sauce. Thank you for sharing, John!
Thank you for sharing! This looks great! Love Godwin! Big gentle man with the southern charm! Wish he was my neighbor. I would go visit him everyday around suppertime!!!!
Thank you! I can't eat the green peppers either.... people laugh and say they are the same as the yellow, red or orange one's. But they aren't. Looks delicious 😜
Godwin had me going with those knife skills. I thought he was gonna lose a digit lol. Burger bowls look good brother. Edit: when wife's away Godwin eats the good stuff all for himself
@@Jon5150XL I understand your just trying to be diffrent than everyone an that's cool But I dont care if your trying to stir the pot with your petty comment
Looks really good Godwin!! If you soak some toothpicks in water it'll hold that bacon in place. Love me some thick cut!! You gotta try some apple, cherry or peach pellets then finish with hickory or mesquite... So Good!!!
Idk if it’s just me, but trying to discipline myself, how does y’all’s kitchens and houses stay so nice and neat!??? Is it a generation thing or is it a discipline thing and if it’s a discipline thing how can I get there?? Love y’all!! More than you could ever know!! God Bless!
Godwin, My family has a dish that my precious Momma made up back in the early 70's we named it, "Hobo Steaks" 50 yrs later and the great grands still make them!! Try this...!! HOBO STEAKS ~~ oven or smoker ** this recipe uses at least a half pound of hamburger meat per person, per serving ~ as at the time hamburger meat was dirt cheap, and it was ALWAYS designed to be 2 meals ie; a lunch for the next day! Hamburger meat 80/20 - 1/2 # per person *optional 1 or 2 slices of bacon 1 large white potato (might need 2) 1 - 2 slices of Sweet onions Approx 4-6 pats of real butter 1 large carrot stick or a can of sliced carrots 1 stalk of celery *optional* 3 - 4 sliced buttons of mushrooms *optional* Preheat your oven at 350° Put each serving of hamburger meat on its own sheet of aluminum foil large enough to bring it up and fold it like you do fish in parchment paper. Shape your hamburger patty into a rather large round swimming pool with thin 1 inch sides, lightly season to your taste, but remember you are going to season a LOT!! After you build your well/pool - then peel your potato (potatoes) you want a good amount of potatoes to get your mountain on stable ground! Dice your potato into small cubes (you can slice into thin rounds if you wish a lot do) then keep on going w/the rest of the ingredients - seasoning and using butter as you work your way up. I put slices of bacon around the hamburger meat and hold them on w/toothpicks. I put slices of butter on the potatoes, carrots, mushrooms and the very top. I also add Worcester, Liquid Smoke, a sprinkle of sugar, salt/pepper/ and various seasoning combinations down through the years. Then cook them at 350° for an hour and check them - if the potatoes are done the meat is. Same w/smoker. This is AWESOME frozen (made) then throw one on a cast iron stove while your sitting on a deer stand or in a duck blind - my Late husband LOVED them during fall hunting season! 《I would just put them together and freeze them raw - then all he had to do was grab some on his way to the Camp depending on when their cook was coming》
Hello Godwin, this recipe looks damn good! I love your videos and have watched Duck Commander religiously! If you ever have the need for fresh garlic instead of the jarred version than message me. I’m a stones throw from Gilroy Ca which is the Garlic capital of the world. It makes such a difference in your cooking recipes. Please keep sending us your videos, I enjoy them all, especially the crappie videos. Take Care
That looks yummy for your tummy John G.i wonder if you used toothpicks on the bacon so it wouldn't fall off while cooking then take them out before eating them thanks for sharing this with us all ..I will try this with my brother, we love to eat good food .
Wow that looks so delicious Godwin I will have to try this out sometime and I also eat veggie burgers that are made with plants God bless you and the entire Robertson family and I hope to meet you Jase Willie and more in the future what a sammich
I microwave thick bacon to get it started about half way cooked before I wrap whatever I smoke/grill. It works well. That looks good we’re going to try it here. Thanks!!
Have you tried meatloafs in the pellet grill, but personal sized meat loafs and put them in a deep pan with a good flat bottom so the grease is around each meatloaf, 350 degrees! I like to put the pan in the middle over the heat for 15 min get the meat loafs browned then flip them and move the pan over and finish them
You should try cracking a duck egg with the vegies and rooms in the middle of the mince volcano then smash the cheese on top and try a wood scuer stick to hold that bacon all together or a toothpick may do the trick Goodwin just a thought for you big fella goad bless brother love your work hay stay well / from down Under / in Oz
