Wilds of Africa at the Dallas Zoo. Filmed March 12, 2024.
While most African exhibits focus on the Savanna, Dallas’s Wilds of Africa has just about everything else. We’ll journey from the African coast to the deepest parts of the Rainforest, along Africa’s longest river, and among giant boulders of the Kopje. The complex’s unique array of species includes African apes, massive Hippos, secretive Okapi’s, speedy Cheetahs, the rock-loving Klipspringer, and a colorful variety of Birds. At the end we’ll learn what more this complex used to, and may again one day, have to offer.

What an amazing tour, Derek! I loved the intro and the footage of the hippos, chimpanzees, gorillas, penguins and cheetah. One of my favorite African exhibits would be the Congo Gorilla Forest at the Bronx Zoo. It has one of my favorite gorilla exhibits around.

School is out! My favorite African exhibit is probably heart of Africa/congo expedition at Columbus, Willd Africa at Binder Park, or Africa at Cincinnati.
