- The 3rd contact you hear is from Bulgaria, he couldn't get my callsign correct so not a legal contact but still cool with QRP.
Today on a HamRadioComms I test out my new XIEGU X6100 HF / 6m QRP transceiver on solar station power and 52' EF antenna at only 15ft high.
This is a fantastic transceiver and I'm looking forward to using it portable this summer.
I just moved to Florida from Bath and got my AE license. I’m currently waiting for the x6100 to arrive as my first hf radio. I’m excited to get into the hf bands and have some fun. 73 from a Mainer stuck in Florida!
Hello from Maine and congrats on your new license. You’re close to the islands and South America, will be exciting to get on HF from FL
Truthfully never watched one of your videos but I wanted to get a better look at the motorcycle. Then I got curious about the Ziegu. I always thought the G90 was interesting so I stayed and watched for awhile. Nice video.
Thank you! and that’s great how you discovered my channel.
KD6CFE was here. Great channel. 73`s
Thank you! 😊
Nicely done. It’s refreshing to see a fellow DXing without spending a fortune on gizmos and jimcracks.
Thank you!
👍👍
Hi! Did you opentx it? I tried to connect with root and "123" password but failed. Thanks in advance
I love it radio
Good video... Have to be careful with SWR 3:43
Thanks yes on the SWR… I tuned up when I started on my first contact, the SWR was good, and when I turned the dial every 50khz I hear relay clicking on tuner I thought it was adjusting for the new frequencies but it wasn’t so I’ll be tuning again before any transmission from now on.
@@hamradiocomms Yes, whenever you change to another frequency you have to tune in / 73
Great video! I have the same radio, I’m really enjoying it so far. Can’t wait for more videos!
Thank you! I'm looking forward to making more QRP videos.
Your TX power seemed very low on the 2nd QSO (wa1gzy)only a few watts seemed to be going out compared to your QSO with s51dx.Did you notice ?
I see this was answered in another message, apologies, I forgot you were using a 9:1 unun which yes would mean you would need to retune. Enjoy the radio ! 73
Hi Syd… yes I noticed that afterwards… first time really using it so I didn’t realize on 20m my antenna has a narrow range so I have to retune more often than I thought … the issue was the SWR was about 1:3 so I was losing power … I was hearing an ATU relay switching as I went up the band I thought it was putting me close on the SWR but it wasn’t so now I manually retune each time I change frequencies…
