On "My Car Story" we're in Northwest Suburbs of Chicago on 7-23-15.
We're looking at a 1967 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible in Bamboo Cream paint.
The car's Owner is Joe Pieroni. He’s had the car since 2005. Joe shared he heard the car was available, saw it, negotiated, and bought it. It’s as simple as that.

1967 and 1968 Bonne, Ventura, and Catalina bodies are the best looking.
Hi Mar Blox, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this car :-) Lou
I love it when a vintage convertible is equipped with factory air conditioning.
+itsmegp46 That's really unusual when you see that, I agree, thanks for viewing, Lou
This is Pontiacs shining star.
Yes the Bonneville is the top of the line
Hi Bruce, Thank you for viewing & sharing. Lou
magnificent example of these convertibles.. Thank you, Lou for bringing all these historical vehicles to us here in youtube land. mr. joe is a good sport. 405.
Hi Scott Brady, Glad you think this one is "magnificent" :-) You're welcome, Lou
Wow! I am so glad I ran into this fabulous video! Wow! I loved it! You really polished this channel in modern times, Lou! I have always liked the body style on the 1967 full-sized Pontiac. Thanks again, Lou!
Hi JON, High praise for this car / video :-) My pleasure sharing this car with you, and you're welcome, Lou
You can't top the styling of Pontiac back then. Thank you Lou!
Hi Mike C, Happy to read you enjoy the styling of this car :-) You're welcome, Lou
I had one just like it. My father was the second owner. He gave it to me when I was in junior high, in the 1980's. I took it to a shop for restoration and in the third year, yes it was taking that long, the guy was shot by a mobster to whom he owed money. The family got scared and delivered all the cars to this mobster. It was a tragedy. I bought a BMW as consolation price to get over my Pontiac convertible...
I probably never really got over that since I'm always searching for these videos

What a beautiful car, Pontiac at the top of their game!
kramden Hi Kramden, I agree with you, thanks for viewing, Lou
"Pontiac at the top of their game!" You could say that with snapshots of several generations & cars
GM was one of the few car companies as far as I was concerned to make a yellow car look so good and Cadillac was able to make even pearl white cars that really look good

When i was 9 years old and these were new, i thought that the '67 Pontiacs were the best looking cars ever. My opinion hasn't changed much since then. Thanks for sharing this beautiful example.
Hi dsteele27, Cars have a way of getting better looking with age. Thank you for sharing your feelings on this one :-) Lou
This is Pontiacs shining star.
High praise for this Pontiac :-)
This was when the car exteriors had so much style.......what a beautiful piece of machinery....
Hi Sonny Haskins, Glad to read you enjoy the design of this car :-) Lou
'67 Catalina,Bonneville and 2+2, best looking cars made!
High praise :-)
This is the exact duplicate of my first car color and all ,except for the gauges, back in 1971. Even took my drivers test in it and parallel parking wasn't an easy task. A lot of old memories were made in that ride and for as big and heavy as it was it could still smoke those tires. Sure would like to get my hands on it if he would ever decide to part with it.
Hi Bill Azzarello, Happy to read this car brings back memories of the one you had :-) Hope you see many more cars on this UA-cam Channel you enjoy, Lou
My favorite Bonneville. Always was a sucker for the split body color head lights. That coke bottle quarter panel, and the rear tails.
You have great taste :-)
I'm dying of nostalgic envy.... is there such a affliction? 😲
Sure, why not :-)
Might be :-)
I remember reading in the 67 Pontiac brochure Lou that the Executives and Bonnevilles rode on a 124" wheelbase and was 222.6" long. The Catalinas , the wagons and the Grand Prix rode on a 121" wheelbase and was 215.6" long. The wagons were 217.8" long. Quite a variety of measurements for one full sized line.
Hi Larry Hawkins, Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge, Lou
My dad had this car in a hardtop coupe, but it had a 428 high compression engine. Crazy torque. Very difficult NOT to spin the tires, and I'm completely serious. It took me a while before I could drive it right, because unless you had a feather for a right foot, you would spin those tires (or that tire, in this case). Great car.

67 was a great styling year for all GM in my opinion.
Hi Hans, Happy to read you enjoy the styling of this car :-) Lou
Dear Lou. Back in1978 Joey chittwood came to ROANOKE RAPIDS NC to buy a couple of chevys. Across the street from my dad's shop the pont dealer was next door. O the memory🎄
Hi Louis, Very nice :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing that fun memory, Lou
@@loucostabile have you ever heard of the Chittwood thril show?
Nice model year for full-size Pontiacs. A bit concerned about the upgraded sound system though. I’ve seen beautifully restored classic cars “butchered” by having holes cut into door panels and rear decks to facilitate the installation of “stereo speakers.” I hope that wasn’t done to this car. I strongly feel that classic cars should be restored as close as possible to factory specifications, even if it means maintaining a mono radio!
Hi Fred Kelbert, Thank you for viewing and sharing your thoughts. Hope you see many more cars on this UA-cam Channel you'll enjoy, Lou
Not a fan of restomods huh?
I love the 60s cars, but those black vinyl seats were torture after sitting out in the sun.
+MerleOberon Hi Merle, You're right, you'd have to peel yourself off the seats if you're wearing shorts. Take care, Lou
i love the bonneville! a american car, built in the u.s for americans, unlike the parisienne, this is not a chevrolet!
Happy to read you love this one :-)
Gorgeous car! Would love to have it!!!
+pipeguy1958 Hi PipeGuy1958, Glad you enjoyed the video. Please take the time when on UA-cam.com and type in "My Car Story with Lou" and I hope you see other cars you'll enjoy. Take care, Lou
We could not get these in Canada, we got the smaller Parisienne.
Thank you for sharing.
Do the driving lights up front work? These auto designs were pre-71 and were absolutely gorgeous.!!!
The lights mounted on the bilateral front fenders were cornering lamps. They were offered as options starting in 62 or 63 on medium priced and luxury cars. They preceded the fender markers started in 68. The also continued to be offered with the fender markers. The would light up on the right side when the turn signal was activated during a turn and on the left side when the left turn signal was used. They were always white...never Amber colored.
Hi Sonny, I can see Larry Hawkins share the answer for your question. Lou
Without having 'the govn'mt' breathing down your necks with safety regulations, designers were free to do and draw and create anything their hearts desired......which was fantastic..!!!! The mid-60's designs WERE the designers RESULTS which were AMAZING !!!
Hi Sonny, Happy to read you enjoy the design of this car :-) Lou
Beautiful car. The body looks very much like a 1967 Pontiac Executive that I bought in 72 with only forty some thousand miles on it. I sure do wish I still had that car. =( There must not have been very many of them made because I rarely see a video about one and if you do a Google image search you don't find a lot of them either. You can find tons of videos and photos of the Bonneville's and Catalina's but not the Executive's.
Hi Wayne Hodge, Glad you like the looks of this one :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing. Hope you see many more cars on the Channel you'll enjoy, Lou
The Executives (formerly Starchiefs) shared the Bonnevilles 124" wheelbase and 222.9" overall length. It was price competitive with Dodge Monacos, Chrysler Newports and Mercury Montclairs of the same vintage.
Got one like it but red my dad bought it in 1970 for 600 bucks from a friend of my dad and i still have it today
Hi Randy Kale, Glad to read you have a cool car like this one too :-) Lou
wow very excellent car
Happy to read you appreciate this car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing.
Beautiful car, I remember these on the road. I am just glad that Pontiac, for 1968, went to the horizontal headlights instead of stacked. That treatment was getting old.
Hi senorkaboom, Glad you like the looks of this one :-) Lou
We guys never outgrow riding toys.
You're right :-)
Even in 1967 an air conditioned Bonneville convertible was not that unusual. This one most likely had a bottom line MSRP of about $5600 with much additional room to go higher when equipped with more options.
Hi Larry Hawkins, Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge, Lou
Power roof not working?
It works.
Beautiful 67 Poncho .
Those late 60 Ponchos and GM cars in general then were great and the Poncho BOP B bodies were stout cars. I had 1966 and 1968 Pontiac Grand PRIX . The 389- 421 and 400 -428 CID motors were no slouches either they could get down the road pretty well even in the big B body Ponchos , the big Cats ,Ventura , Bonnies and GP , Pontiac had them cammed and tuned and the cars styled real well .
The 68 GP was a bit of an ugly duckling as compared to the earlier Pontiac GP and the big cats and bonnies but the inside was real nice still before everything went cheaper and 70's inside and outside in the B bodies although my 75 Monte Carlo was just OK and slow by comparison it wasn't a Poncho and it was a flexi flier with a lot of cowl shake .
I always liked the 61- 68 big B body Ponchos . I also had a 64 326 2 dr manual shift 3 on the floor Lemans RWD A body .
Glad you like this one. Appreciate you sharing your knowledge, and details on your 1966. Thank you, Lou
impala 67 style interior🤔il take this instead of a impala 67 unless maybe is a ss 427 even then il think about it🤔
Decisions, decisions :-)
Should have left the junk off of it.
:-0
That's like move out of the WAY...😦😦😦
:-0
You don't see many Grandvilles today. Pontiac made em .They were just a Bonneville in disguise.I don't even know why they made em.Kinda stupid to me ...............
Hi Bruce, Thanks for viewing & sharing, Lou
Grandvilles were Top of the Line & Beautiful Cars
Not cool fakein it..😠400 to 428...
Oh well.
