    I'm so fascinated by your work and take on things. Question though, does adding the silicone to the resin change it at all on curing time, final look/product, etc. Have you ever tried any of the silicone cleaning products for this sort of thing?

      Hi Mysti! So far I have not been able to notice any changes in the epoxy resin due to the addition of silicone. And I don’t try any silicone cleaning products... greetings John

    Beautiful! I did see some small cells. I wonder if the silicon stayed in the brush holder. Maybe putting the silicon in later in the color sequence would help with cell creation?

    That was so cool. And after the resin, the colors are so vibrant. Love it. Do you lay awake at night thinking up all these unique ways to pour paint? 😆 so creative. I have to admit when in the dollar store, I always look at some things differently than what they are supposed to be used for. Yesterday I saw a soap dish with holes in the bottom. Turn upside down, tape off all around the outside then pour through. Wonder what it would look like. Have to prop up somehow so the paint can move out from under. I may have to go back and buy it anyway. 😆 I blame you and one other for this. Lol

    Thank you John. That was entertaining as well as educational! But no one tells you how to clean up, say silicone, epoxy resin or even acrylic paints. Is it just soap and water for all? Anything I use just remains covered with paint no matter how much I scrub.

    Really enjoyed this and learned a lot. I have a question...how did you know that that size canvas would work so perfectly. I know how to guessimate paint to size ratio but how do you guessimate differently sized paint cups when they are not clear? The brush holder looked brand new so it doesnt appear that you tested unless you have multiple brush holders of the same size and shape. Just curious? Guess I had more than a question. 😉

    • @JohnFranklinArt
      @JohnFranklinArt  4 роки тому +1

      Hi 👋 I measured the amount of water in the brush holder. Then I knew how much color could fit in and that went well with a 30cm canvas. Greetings John!

      @@JohnFranklinArt thanks for replying! I love your art and this channel. I think the pouring tool, in this video, was a fantastic idea! I have another question for you, if you wouldnt mind if we were to use your ideas in our own artwork? If yes then how would you like us to acknowledge you? Maybe by adding onto the back of the frame, "In the style of John Franklin Art? You may already said your preference and I just havent watched that video yet. I am just a year into this type of art and am still so excited to learn and try new things. As I said I love your channel, I did have a an idea for you and would honored if you considered it. I have noticed your preference to use red, black and gold on the smaller type tiles. I am sure that it is your favorite color combo as mine is purple, teal and 50/50 silver and white. But I find myself using it a lot and am purposely trying to expand my color usage. I think many of us would benefit on learning possible new color combinations like today. I think those smaller tiles where I see you using that color combo the most would be an excellent place to expand your color combo usage. Because I believe many of us would benefit to your change in colors red, black and gold and learn a little theory as well. Please know that I mean no disrespect. My intention was for it to feel as if two friends are talking art and bouncing ideas with one another. I would horrified if you took it as me lecturing you. Thanks again for replying. Looking forward to your future videos.

    I know this is an older video so idk if you can see this, but would adding silicone to varnish/finish help as well in case there is still silicone on the canvas? I always hear that if you don't get all the silicone off completely that it will mess up the varnish, so I just haven't varnished anything that had silicone in case I missed any lol

    What are the advantages of adding silicone to the resin vs washing the painting before resining?

    • @melissaphillis7247
      @melissaphillis7247 4 роки тому

      Resin won't sit over oil, so if you want an unpitted finish you need to wash.

      In my experience, you cannot 100% remove silicon from a dried image. Therefore, there is always a risk that you can get silicone holes in the epoxy resin. To avoid the risk, I add a few drops of silicone to the epoxy resin. Greetings John
