What has caused a lot of issues with being able to boondock at places like Walmart has been the people who have abused the privilege either staying very long all day or setting up camp like they live there and simply leaving their garbage strewn about.
Unless it is a local law, it is up to each WalMart to determine if to continue the privilege of overnight parking or not. As usual, a lot of people are abusing the privilege as if they have the right to stay beyond the 24 Hours.
My wife and I went to the local CB for breakfast two weekends in a row. I noticed the same motorhome out back both times. I hate to think the WalMart homeless squatters might ruin CB too.
Fun fact: the phrase "heard it through the grapevine" comes from the 1800s when the telegraph lines were first put in they followed wild grapevine paths as they didn't have the poles for support yet so the grapevines helped to support the telegraph lines.
Modesto is at minimum central California if not still in Northern California. Modesto is located in the Central Valley, 68 miles (109 km) south of Sacramento and 90 miles (140 km) north of Fresno.
Modesto is definitely NOT Southern California! It’s approximately 350 miles to Oregon and 450 miles to Mexico border. Modesto is geographically still in Northern California.
I thought Fresno is still central California. I thought you had to get below Bakersfield before it’s called Southern California. He needs to do his homework
I can almost guarantee you your vibration is what most people call the (Death Wobble). Usually starts when you hit a bump at a higher speed. Only happens occasionally. Inspect all of your steering ball joints and replace your steering stabilizer.
I know everyone is gonna be saying Modesto Ca isn't in Southern California Eric! well they are right....Your close, but 100% not SoCal. I still love ya! Thanks for all you do!
To me it was more about not being in the Northern HALF of the sate anymore. As far as Dish Network is concerned, Modesto was "South California" on the map, no longer Northern. But I get what you mean.
Hey Eric, Modesto is in central Cali , So Cal starts around Bakersfield and on down. Our 800 mile long State has a few good areas left, The Central Coast is the best last place to live in my opinion, but if that goes bad I'' m headed to Show Low. Az. My late Father Lived there and ran a Harley custom chopper shop of his little ranch there. He rode with some of the boys you probably ride with. He was known as wild bill by some the other riders.
You said the Right Thing About California Eric, because I Heard from a lot of People Online Are Saying That California Is Too Expensive To Live In The State Of California for real, because Hotels 🏨 In California Are Too Expensive, Even Camping ⛺️ Parks In California Are Too Expansive To, it is like you have to be Really Really Really Really Rich 🤑 To Live In California for real, my Brothers and Sisters, And My Friend Eric.
Come on man!!! Lol I grew up & lived in Modesto for 25+ years & just moved & NOW you come visit!? 😂 PS- My Dad knew George Lucas's Mother and my Friends Mom went to HS with him
I know that you like oddities. Next time you drive the 99 watch for where the palm meets the pine. It's half way in the state, palm representing the south and the pine, north.
Disneyland here you come!! We saw the magic bands hanging on the cabinet hardware and the Mickey outline at the end. Have fun!!! Playing twice since we are one of the ones that likes the longer videos.
Cool video. The bulldozer was terrific. The Micky snow globe was a fantastic find and I agree it's probably very rare. I have watched you for years and don't plan to guess. Your videos are always interesting and entertaining. Take care of yourself, Tara and Opie.
I just made this trip I'm a truck driver and go up there twice a week. There are nothing but stupid drivers in California and the more space you give the more you ha e to worry about morons doing dumb stuff in front of you. Great video love seeing you make it Cali be careful.
Love all your Mickey memorabilia. That song playing on your snow globe on an I Love Lucy episode where Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel drive to Cal they sang that song California Here We Come. It’s fun finding cool stuff from the past.
Great video! I'm loving this new adventure you're on. Years of watching you travel and camp and you always come up with new and interesting content. I'm sure I would love the King Charles store.😊 Your sweet kitties are such great travel companions for you.🐱🐱♥️
Eric, we are long time viewers (7 years or more). It was fun to see you were in Whittier. We have two booths at King Richard's Antique Mall--the largest antique mall in Southern California. The owners Chuck and Martha are great people. Did you ask to video in the mall? I am sure they would have agreed. It is quite a cool place.
yes, it was rumble strips but it seems you didnt read replied from the prior video, but it was rumble strips. one man even said he goes that way and hits them. i do wish they would paint them yellow to give driver’s a heads up.
Having an RV parked in front of a store is also a security measure for that store. Most likely that’s why he became a Harvest Host with such a small area. It’s free security.
My first tractor trailer trip in the 80’s down the grapevine.I smoked the truck and trailer brakes good. Had to sit at the bottom for 1/2 hr to cool them down. Praying no Chip guys came by. Whew.
You should look for a cool tin sign to use as a patch for your trailer. A little silicone on the back edges and screw it on. Good to go. The Rainer patch looks good.
I enjoy your longer videos because there’s so much variety. What drives me crazy are cooking videos where they chop two onions, three carrots, etc., and the thing is so long and boring that I fast forward and then miss something. Chop half an onion or carrot, we get the picture. Oh, no, you’re heading towards Disneyland. I fast forward through any Disney visits, but that’s just me.
Thanks for another great long video keep them coming bro. Would love to have seen your Wal-Mart shopping experience. Also your RV was hit in Lake Elsinore, CA.
Lol I love how Eric kept calling 👑 King Richards, King Charles 😂💕👍 PS- sweet Disney snow globe, who'd they have to call to authorize a lower deal? Was it on consignment? 🤔
from reading your comments from the prior video, thats b/s that no one wants longer videos. we all love them. so, keep them coming and it ads to your “watch hours” as youtube cares about your “watch hours” over the last 365 days, as we roll forward, its all about your more current full videos. 😊
The Grapevine Name was generated by the Old Road’s twists & turns going down the mountain. Flying over that mountain is as challenging as driving for the westerly winds.
OMG!!! King Richard’s! We go there frequently. Just found out they are a HH and wondered WHERE they would park an RV! Yes, it’s def not the best area. You loved King Richard’s, I see. Time to go back to my favorite 3-story antique story..we’re quite a bit south of there and takes a good hour to get there, but it’s worth it. They have a lot of good and reasonably priced things, you just have to hunt. I’m so glad you were finally able to USE them as a HH. And, yes, the owner and staff are great people!
Eric, your content is interesting and it's fun to see the places you go when I know I will never visit most of those places. So, keep up the good work and I like the longer videos. On the shorter ones it just gets good and it's over.
I don't think the "No overnight parking" is primarily a financial thing. There are so many homeless encampments on the west coast and they are probably trying to avoid the mess that comes with that sort of thing.
There is more than Northern and Southern CA. There is Central CA which is where you are. Now if you head to the Mouse House you will THEN be in SoCal (as those of us who live here call it) BTW many of our Walmarts are VERY RV friendly. Looking forward to continuing journeys!
Another fun video, I like the long ones because of the variety. Great Mickey haul, especially the globe. I used to cruise Whittier Blvd. in the 60's, grew up a few miles from Disneyland, went there 3 months after they opened. 😁😁😎😎👍👍
Just take the diamond plate off and lay it on a new piece. Get some tin snips and cut where you mark it using the damaged piece. You need a Screw gun, bit to fit the screws, snipers and a new diamond plate, if you want it to look worth a damn. 😟😀use the same trim that’s already around the old diamond plate.
water on brakes pads is a known problem in rainy UK - it is advisable to touch the brakes lightly occassionally to skim off the water to keep the effciency high
My hubby has an idea about that hole in your trailer to rivet an metal Harley Davison placard, if you can find one, or any other themed metal placard you might like on there. He thinks that would look cool! 😊
Rain Does that on my motorhome here . After mine sits for a month or so and I drive it when it has been raining the brakes go weird for the first good push . After that they are just fine . No idea why .
I have lived in SoCal all my life! Los Angeles. Modesto is not considered SoCal to us in LA and SD. It is in central CA. Whittier is only a few minutes from my house. If you are still here in LA get your bike out and let's go for a ride. I have a VTX 1800s.
Hi Eric I Don't Believe it you finally came to Whittier! My home town(not really my hometown is Pico Rivera next door, anyway you came to Whittier cool to the old by anything market, I've never been there now I have to ! Good for you Eric!
Hi i love all you videos 8 dont care if they long i love see you go diferent places thank you for show too us some people like me we dont have the chance to go and see all the beautiful places and diferent states thank so much to show to us i have alot of fun seeing you videos i imagine the and you co pilot lol.❤❤❤best wiches stay safe.
Clever idea to patch the blemish. I am pretty sure Disneyland sells novelty license plates. That could be a more permanent solution. You could start another collection.
At $100 per night to stay in an RV Park, you may as well stay in a motel. I found this out, when I crossed the northern USA from Spokane to Maine & then crossing across Canada from PEI to BC in 2014. I sold my Jayco Pop up Camper. It wasn't worth the hassle anymore.
@@jacknimble1 I stay in small towns. $100 rooms are fine. Many have full kitchens where you can cook your own meals. $300 per night is STUPIDLY EXPENSIVE! 🤓
On your aluminum plate issue, if you have a claw hammer, you might be able to pull it out by drilling a couple screws and use the hammer as a puller. It won't be perfect, but you never know
Eric, I have a utility trailer and in about the same spot I added a weather proof landline connection. I had to modify a small heavy duty extension cord as an adapter. Just a thought for your hole in your trailer. I got my mother watching your videos.
Could always patch trailer with fake license plate like cvk rock 106. alot of them are aluminum or tin. I would stay away from plastic but use gasket maker or silicone caulk all the way around plate to slto seal off rain or water pressure from tires
4:50 The rattling was close to one of these checkpoints. Would not surprise me if it was in the pavement - another great idea of those who wish to force control to slow traffic down?
